I watched this today as I anticipate adopting an 8 y/o Beagle boy who doesn’t like a crate. Very helpful. My latest foster fail learned to go into the crate for his meal, then would bang on the door..within the last two weeks, he no longer bangs. He sits or lies down, knowing I’ll come let him out. My mostly Doberman goes directly to the crate when I ask and relaxes. His first family used the crate a lot. Thank you for this perspective.

Once again, an awesome video. I actually call the kennels their rooms. They have their own room within my room that they can go to for comfort or whatever reason. The doors stay open unless I leave. They will literally go into their own rooms and take a nap, chew on a toy, anything really. It's their own private personal space that is theirs and theirs alone. I think that dogs need that type of place to go to so they can calm their minds as they are always going a mile a minute with thoughts about what we are doing around the house. I love your little hints and tidbits that you put in writing on the screen and your personality is the best! Thanks for another great video!

We get really frustrated about it, because my brother takes night shifts and sleeps during the day. Each time she barks, he wakes up. Can you please give us some tips on how to stop the barking? Thank you in advance!

What suggestions do you have for me. My problem, is me. I see that now. I love on my dog all the time. All the time. And now I can see I may have caused separation anxiety. I’m not sure where to start to bet us both to be better. I thought crate training just meant we could get him to go into it. Which he does when we leave. But he cries off and on while we are gone. And then when we are home he follows me everywhere. I didn’t realize it until recently that it’s separation anxiety, but I can also tell he is watching for direction as well. He is 9 years old, beagle/dachshund we were told at the rescue.

hi i found your videos from tik tok and i was wondering if you have any advice on how to train a hyper 6 month old puppy!! my pup is very hyper and friendly so she loves to jump on people also she has a habit of biting feet ands hands to try to play but it’s painful and frustrating so i’m trying to get her out of the habit

Congrats on the new pup! First off start rewarding all the calm moments - whenever she’s just chillin, just reward her more. And start hand feeding! And use your thumb- press into her mouth and push down on her tongue with only very tiny amount of pressure then remove - over and over until she gives up, then reward

@@ericandcaprithepup TY! I got him with 11 week, this saturday he´s 15 weeks. I have 2 more questions, 1. What about toys? Should I let him have bones or other things all time around for example? 2. In the mornings when he wake up, usually first than me, he tries to wake me up by barking and trying to jump on the bed, and when I say "NO jumping" he starts biting the bed, what should I do? Great videos by the way!

Sure you can but I can just tell you what to do. If every time nipping happens, you take your thumb and press it on her tongue for 5 seconds, eventually she will associate her behavior to that consequence and it will make her stop sooner

Give her a new behavior when she comes out of the kennel - make her come to a SIT, in front of you, and reward her there. She will start looking forward to that new and rewarding BEHAVIOUR and you can phase it out (the treats) over a short period of time
