The Revolution Rotary-Steerable System - How It Works

Ғылым және технология

Weatherford’s Revolution rotary-steerable system RSS, provides industry leading temperature pressure and dogleg capabilities in a range of sizes. Covering hole diameters from six inches up to 17 and ½ inches.
Included with the Revolution system is the Downlink Commander, which enables bi-directional communications between surface systems and downhole tools.
The Revolution RSS provides full 3D directional control in a closed loop system. In conjunction with Downlink Commander, the system is capable of a full range of directional drilling applications including vertical and horizontal control, vertical kick-off, and complex 3D wellpaths.

Hate em or love em, you can't deny it's amazingly advanced compared to a few decades ago.

👍👍👍👍👍nice job i started looking into frackn I was looking into correct drilling operating procedures for long term gas release from granites hydrocarbon and a new3 cut set might just do it for required math and gas extraction, and possible way to get hydrogen capture i would go space have a condensing machine for a repressed to see if able to make hydrocarbon by high pressure into the stone layers or if heat presses and something else might work need check lab time to get right gasses. And what is the one thing you don't do to granites 😕 frack there been a few mistakes and cracked it all the way to the surface the sand layer will not hold if it ruptures especially with a acid WTF you always drill water and let it slowly run out use a vacuum some things they are doing are nasty as hell max return 50% of what they flush max O poo. Wanted to know what it would take to ark blast till the granite cardon melts to the original cut in i need to melt pressed seal as time may be required they do this with human waste trash and are already pulling methane gas out mmmmm?????.

Petroleum industry is far ahead of the rest of the industries (not including army) in technology. These things sound futuristic and yet, they have been using them for years.

Is the mud cool enough to keep the Li-ion batteries from runaway? The electrolytes in Li-cells can behave badly as low as 158 to 194 degrees F.

For down hole equipment, most if the batteries are rated to 150C. Some better binned hot hole ones will take a few more C's but not much. If you're curious, look into lithium thionyl chloride.

Sounds too complicated. SLB PowerDrive is a lot easier and user friendly and can be integrated with any third party MWD system if needed.
