Sometimes people put dirt on there just to clean it but I don’t think they did.

@@bopeep007 If it is fake then they are doing more than putting dirt on a rug since it takes time for the dirt to work its way into the carpet fibers. Think about a sweater. If you were to get dirt on your sweater and clean it the next day, it should all come off since it has not penetrated. The longer you let it set, the more the dirt and dust will accumulate within the fibers of any fabric or yarn.
