Sadly my old 3645 Dropped a bearing in the back end & locked up solid on the PTO shaft just hedge cutting after I put a 1000 rpm shaft in the back end 😭 so I understand what Father Phil is saying...

I’ve done them seals on my 8130 pretty sure I only took one trumpet of not too bad of a job having the dynashift out was more technical 😂

Huge job on a mighty machine ... what did the tractor cost first day and what's its value now after a big investment, but the two main mechanics are some thing else working in tough enough conditions but not a bother on them ...this farming game is not for the fainthearted and our city cousins are not aware of what farmers must do to survive ... great video ( as usual ) showing the raw naked face of working the land ...

As for the pto shaft you only drop the bearings if you remove the sleeve that the pto shaft slides into (have to unbolt to do that) you’ll do no harm removing the circlip and swapping the shaft I do it regularly

Remove smaller circlip to swap pro shaft around. 2 bearings on sleeve

After surgery the 3690 should be like a new tractor, than the 2725

I've changed t shaft serval times in my 3645 neva had a issue.

Same As that. I’ve rebuilt pto in my 3690. Him saying bearings could drop or ball fall out is rubbish talk.

Just 2 quick facts, the 3690 originally had no 540 option (too many horses), and there was an option for the 1000 shaft to be 750 with different gearing inside (I measured on our 3680 with a magnet and a "Turns Counter" app and turns out it is the 750 version actually, despite 1000 stamped on the shaft itself)

We all want to see it on the big square baler just pull the shaft.

You were saying about changing the 6 spline shaft to a 21 on the 3690 to run the square baler. Can you not just change the baler PTO shaft from a 21 to 6?

Phil why don't you get the 1000 shaft that goes on to the 540 like a pto shaft we use to use one on a 2650 John Deere to drive a 3765 harvester

There’s 2 shafts for these. Have to swap them so it uses a different set of gears inside. You can get a 540 shaft that used the 1000 gears. So basically 6 spline 1000 shaft

When are you going to fix the loader tractor .? Keep seeing it in the yard .

Yes but that gets you from 6 to 21 spline but not up to 1000 rpm

The ants doesn’t make it spin at a 1000 rpm. You can buy a 6 spline 1000 shaft. Has 6 splines but spins at 1000rpm
