@@toziassmitt Even Ronnie will lose his game soon with age, sorry to break that to you, and if Ronnie retired and stopped playing for a decade, he'd also be struggling, because it's not magic, it's masses of hard work to stay that good. It's unavoidable in high precision and mental endurance skills like professional snooker. Cahill may not be a top professional (nor is he a "kid" either anyway...) but I don't see why you're deciding to use "kid" as a put down? Youth has never been an issue with being good at snooker. Hendry and Ronnie were both teenagers when they turned pro... Obviously Cahill is not as insanely talented as that but the point remains valid, and in any case he is not some new amateur, he's a top 100 in the world professional with years of experience. Considering Hendry has not really been playing or even practicing much at all for over a decade, the fact he's still clearing up difficult centuries of any kind at all is pretty good!

@@michaelmulhall5007 Yep, he's a top man in my book.
He can still play to a really high level, he just needs to focus and work harder than ever before to get his endurance and mental approach back to a level where he can at least cut his way into the big matches. This wasn't just a lucky break, this was a really tough break with a lot of brilliant shots and control. And what happened to not being good at doubles? Walloping in difficult doubles all over the table there! Maybe he's been practicing them more, especially after some of his Cue Tips videos.
@woudwilder8324

I agree with you. If Stephen really wants to get back into the Crucible, he will have to start doing the hard work again and approach it like a job and practice at least 6 hours a day over an extensive period of time. Doing that, his level will improve again and his confidence will grow and he will go into matches with the knowledge that he prepared well. Basically, going back to basics, hard work is what made him the best in the 90's and as long as he is not willing to put in the effort, there is no way that 'comeback' is going anywhere... If however he would put in the work, I see no reason why he couldn't be very competitive again.
@ebojfmdboojoh4023

I think it's concentration. Once he actually gets in the frame he can still score. He needs to concentrate and avoid basic errors. Losing 10-4 is no disgrace. Although Cahill did not play well in this game. Hendry in the 90's would have won this game 10-0 or 10-1

He's not committed enough anymore and never had enough natural aspects to his game other than pure grit, hard work and dedication to succeed. Mark Williams for example still practices but never to the level Stephen did, and he's still competing at the highest level due to his natural talent. Don't get me wrong, I would love for him to come back, he was my idol growing up in the 90's.

Why do you have to relate those statements? 😂
i like to watch stephens channel, que tips and he always says he can't double. two out of three's pretty good i think.
Seen this guys youtube channel, glad to see he's turned pro
Timing. When Stephen Hendry is focused, and he's timing is spot-on, he actually looks like a good player. All the good players know that it's all about timing, are you can see the influence of Steve Feeney, especially on some of those early starts where he stood to the middle of the stance, straight down the middle of the ball, and held is queue up to the middle of the ball before leaning down, which is completely different from his cue approach when he was playing regularly as a professional before retiring in 2012. I'm not saying that Steven was playing badly in every match in the final few years, but you could see that the focus has gone, and that he needed some help and coaching. The maximum in 2012 tells you that the ability was still there - and very much so - but with the extra focus and extra 'approach training' that he's doing with Steve Feeney at the SightRight system, especially if you consider the likes of Mark Williams, who became world champion again, top 16 player, and £2.1 million earnings since working at SightRight, and especially considering many of the seasoned players that he's brought back into the limelight using his system, you can't really argue with Steve Feeney's approach. Keep going Stephen, you just need to put a lot of focus in to it, and you'll get there.
Hendry did a sick double 😂😂
I thought he'd retired. The question is when was his last televised century. Fantastic player in his day.
A Hendry double double century... Angles would be proud

@@toziassmitt If he would start approaching it as a job again and putting in at least 6 hours of practice again, there is no reason why Hendry couldn't be very competitve again and give everybody a run for their money. @@woudwilder8324 People also forget how much he dropped off in the 00's. He was barely in the top 16 by the end and he didn't win a ranking event beyond 2005. And this was twenty years ago. He could practice for hours a day and he won't be good enough. Father time has caught up. He needs to go to the seniors tour and stay there.

This is beautiful. The only cure for his yips wasa 10 year break and a zero-fux attitude.
hendry vs sullivan in final. 8 titles on the line!!
I just hope, for his sake, he isn't taking this match too seriously. He's obviously losing pretty badly to the Giant Killer (apt nickname for this occasion) and he knows it's because he hasn't been seriously practicing for over 10 years. But so what? He is and will always be one of the all-time greats. I hope he knows he's just doing this for fun. I've seen him getting pretty frustrated with some of the shots he missed in the other frames, and obviously it's good he still cares. But as long as it doesn't make him frustrated to the point of never trying these forays into the professional game, it's all well and good. Just do you, everybody knows that playing and even winning against the great Stephen Hendry is a privilege for any player.

There's about 3 or 4 shots there that were world class. He might be a little bit big round the waist and out of practice but he's certainly the King.
Fantastic to see him continue to add to his list of centuries hopefully he can reach the 800 mark and possibly surpass it shame that he lost the match though I believe that he has only won against Jimmy White and beaten Chris Wakelin so far would be excellent to see him string a couple of victories together and build a little confidence/momentum it might motivate him to practice which is something that he is struggling with i believe
Must say great century there from hendry..but I wouldn't call it return of the king..as he finished the 1st session 7-2 down so unless he produces a incredible come back he will unfortunately loose in the 1st qualifying match..just don't think he's got it anymore..let's see how far jimmy can go.

wow that table is not level! watch the red hit the left rail twice @ 5:52
I think focus in long frame matches over two weeks at the crucible is too taxing for him now,.,.he’s been their and done that and worn that tee shirt.Nothing more does he have to prove.Loving the new you tube channel though
why need to say 102 brake in headline??? No trill at all
you can do better than this Hendry scary to think what would happen if he suddenly got the hunger for it So great to see
When Hendry developed those three reds, the red rolling up the table kept rolling towards the cushion… looked like a terrible table

Return of the King? That insinuates he returned and conquered…
He returned for only one frame.
I was not convinced by his comeback for the most part. However, after seeing this break I am convinced. He seems more confident but at the same time refreshingly laid back. The laid back attitude is perhaps the issue. If he focuses and maybe shreds a bit of weight and takes it serious- he could win a tournament in my book.
