As excited as I am for mcsg to come back, I don’t think the server will last more than a few months. The people who used to play on it will come, play for a few days, maybe weeks and then fade out again once the hype is over. I’ve personally been playing Minecraft a bit again, but it’s not the same it was 3 years ago when I stopped. I don’t have my community of friends who I used to play with anymore, and playing alone gets boring pretty quick. I feel like it’ll be the same feeling once mcsg is back. 75% of the games I played on there were with a friend(s) so playing it alone won’t bring me the same joy I once had. Mcsg hit its highest point a few years ago, and there’s no way it’ll ever be as popular as it was.

I understand fully. I have spoken to a handful of people who would love to have it back but feel as if it's going to dead in it's tracks stuck in the past in regards to content and/or the overall appeal of the server. Who knows really, there are a lot of big players in the game at the moment and the market is completely different that it was 3 years ago.

Yeah, you’re definitely wrong there. I would love to explain EXACTLY why MCSG is in fact going to blow up, but you should just check the twitter and see for yourself. The hype is un fucking real right now and the news is spreading like wildfire. 5,000 tributes signed up for the survey in just two days. That’s only people who wanted to get in for alpha, imagine how many people are too lazy to do that and want to wait till release. My friends and I made a podcast video about this exact topic so once I finish editing it, I’ll link it here so you can take a good look. Once you watch it, you’ll understand exactly what I mean.

Check Chad’s twitter and the MCG Network Twitter. Chad is a completely different owner and is focused on bringing MCSG back to its prime, it’ll be sweeping BackPlay off its feet.

MCSG being in it's prime is awesome but how long is that really going to last? The competition is steep and the market is much different nowadays than it was in the past. I think they will do well to start but might have a lot of trouble maintaining profitablity.

@@alphaa I don't agree with "competition is steep" what other SG servers are there besides Backplay? Maybe MCMonday but they aren't really comparable.Yes the market is different now, but the hype and numbers don't lie. I get the "how long will it last" arguement but Chad is intent on getting a quality staff team and listening to the community, so I think it will extend the longevity of the server for sure. A lot of OGs share the same opinion with me. (c0nsole, Arcenim, Si, and a lot more people) I know I'm biased as hell because of my love for MCSG, but I truly think it'll do well.

@@creatos1452 And if they do well I'll be happy, but personally with the vastly different market I just see them as stagnating quickly and ChadTheDJ cashing out on the re-born Minecraft hype.

@@alphaa If Chad really wanted to cash out, he wouldn't ask for the community's opinion. He would announce MCSG is coming back, bring it back exactly how it was, nothing changed, make a quick buck and dip. That isn't the case though because he wants to actually listen to the community and such, when's the last time you saw Chad join a channel with a bunch of randoms? Well, he did it yesterday. He has a job that provides him good income so I don't think he's really focused so much on $$$ like people say he is. At the end of the day, MCSG is coming back and we should enjoy it to the fullest for as long as it is out.

are u really comparing Backplay to MCSG? Backplay is just a very bad CLONE of MCSG with 100 players, MCSG when was dead had 1000.

I think it's fair to compare the two being that it's a mostly a copy paste. However I also understand your point. MCSG does have good potential to return.

I agree with you the comparison shouldn't be made, but of course it's going to be made when Backplay is an MCSG carbon copy.
