He’s going to give us work to do-good, meaningful work and we will enjoy the fruits of our labour. For us to enjoy, not someone who will take or inherit what we have. I don’t know exactly what heaven and hell are gonna be like but no where in the Bible does it say the Catholics get their own section and the Protestants in another, etc. In the Old Testament, God gave very specific laws to follow regarding sacrifices to be forgiven of sin. The reason I believe based on what I have researched is to show us how ugly sin really is. But then, He did something incredible, and lived among us as a man, to then become the ultimate sacrifice for us for all time. So that all who repent and follow Christ may be saved. Think of it this way. If you get a speeding ticket and you have to go to court, and you tell the judge “yes your honor, I sped, but I also have given to charity and volunteered!” What do you think the judge will say? “Ok great, but you were still speeding, pay the fine.” But when you follow Jesus, it is as if instead of having to pay the fine, the judge says, “look, that’s nice and everything but the fine still has to be paid. But you’re in luck, your best friend already paid it, so you’re free to go.” This is similar to how God will judge us. We all sin and therefore are deserving of punishment which is death. But God is merciful and is willing to accept the payment Jesus paid with His death if you will accept it too. In short, Jesus came to this earth not to establish a religion, but to give everyone the opportunity to have a relationship with Him!
