Could not get enough of Charlie. Laughed so hard I woke my husband. He wanted to know what I was Laughing at so I backed up the clip again. He also laughed out loud. Charlies is so cool.

Memories Huston will never forget. when he grows up & has children of his own, he’ll bring them out to fish. you’ve showed him exactly what it means to be a dad. I wish more children would have the same experience Huston has.

We 6 kids had that experience plus more with our parents not just boys & dad but girls & mom included always no one left out..we fished all the time during fishing season & went camping in tent every summer even when we were babies then they invited our spouses & us kids when we got married to go fishing & even stayed camping with them but by then they had pull behind pop up camper then motor home but still had tent for some of us whom didn't have any to camp in & even when our babies came they invited us spouses our babies & even their great grands they invited & we had so much fun from birth to 20 Apr 2017 when mom passed & 25 Apr 2017 dad passed I am now 58 & happy to been able to enjoy that with my parents & family. We even went to fairs together during summer & camping with friends & CB groups oh myyyy talk about camping experience that was F U N with games excitement food dancing music entertainment everything u can think of for young & young at heart. We also got together for family/relatives/friends for birthdays/anniversaries/births/etc & holidays so yes we growing up had FUN with my parents & didn't stay inside on games like these kids do & neither did my kids we were outside after school work & household chores (dishes laundry which we hung outside never used dryer even in winter/vacuum/sweep put clothes away) & help in humongous garden when it was time but we also had 30 rabbits we had to take care (we each took turns tho) then play outside with friends (they all had same rules so we respected parents & done what needed to be done so we could go have fun outside not on games or cell) till street lights came on (no cell phones even me till in 2001 when my son age 15 got his also). We also had to do farm chores & had to help in humongous garden when it was time & pick apples from 8 different trees plus help mom with some household chores b4 play when we lived on a farm until i was mid 2nd grade we moved & was in city since. We had respect for parents until deaths & for elders & others property yet & taught our 2 kids that also & they taught our 3 grands (13 9 5) respect for parents us & other elders & each other & others property. Our kids had rules/chores also b4 play time also..they didn't disrepect us as I see so many kids do than (our youngest graduated in 2017) & even now more the kids are so very disrespectful to parents & elders as they run over parents as parents have no control of them it's terrible how they are.

Got a good laugh with Goose; "what'sa matter with you Cyclops" as Charlie stumbles into her after mud diving in Pepper's mud puddle. Wow, those were some biggies at the pond. Thank you for the contents, y'all have a blessed week end! P/S: Y'all keep Lester & Jami in your prayer, they lost their Wacky Pack leader Mr. Huck who bravely fought off a coyote and that coyote brought back up later in the night and ganged up attacking Mr. Huck again. Huck didn't survive the late night attack this time.

Charlie is a male. Due to him having the zoomies which the male Emus mostly have. And the females arent as funny etc

@lisazappala4381 Emus aren't really big unlike Cassowaries or Ostriches. Ostriches are the bigger than the Emu and Cassowaries. But Cassowaries are really scary and dangerous. They look like a dinosaur

Young Emu's love to do zoomies. As they get older they don't do it much. 🤣💗 They become nice as long as they keep getting attention. RJ's humming is so cute.

Nugget at Cog Hill used to get the Zoomies when they lived at their other farm. He would just run laps around the place. Charlie is going to be like him. Totally hilarious!!

It was a riot to watch Charlie zipping around the barnyard. He's had a cute personality from the start. It's cute to have him sit down next to you guys. Is it hard to tell if Charlie is male or female? I know knothing about genders of birds except chickens and colors of birds, males usually being prettier. Jason and Brooks Imu, The Sherrif is quite the character also. I like the plastic chain necklaces he has on some of his animals. Charlie needs a pink or blue necklace. Goose and the triplets need one also. Ok Dejay. That's a hint for you. Pink, purple and lime green. Really nice to see you having good ole family fun at the pond. Is there by any chance a solar aerator? That would be great. You could put one at both ends of the pond. Looking forward to you getting all that needs to be done at your other pond done so you can stock it. I don't remember, does your 3rd property have a pond? So much fun for all. You're so blessed. And I know you're very grateful for all you have. That's one thing I admire and appreciate you and Dejay for. You've never been ones to take anything for granted. Watching Charlie running it’s zoomies reminded me of Cog Hill Farm. When Jason and Brooke lived on the old Cog Hill farm ( before they had moved to the new one) they had a young emu Nugget who when they opened the gate to his pen he would come flying out and would do the zoomies the same way Charlie is . He’d zoom around one side then come flying back and around to the other side. Nugget is now the sheriff of the new Cog Hill so he has to maintain a more serious decorum.

That young boy that wanted to spend a day with you & your family had his greatest wish fulfilled, He will spread the word about how sweet you were to him, just an average family, doing what any ordinary family does ! Many years ago I listened to the same channel on a personal radio I had. I wanted to meet the man that spoke every day about everything happening in our city. People said , "You'll never be able to see or meet him in person as he's a celebrity & they don't meet their listeners !" As it turned out that announcer was at a basketball game at our local grade school, as I was walking past the gymnasium I heard his voice & went inside . It was the local radio announcer that I had heard all those years, he didn't look at all what I was expecting to see, but it was a distinguished voice that drew me to listen to his announcements. He walked through the auditorium during a break asking people's names & where they were from . He put his microphone in front of me & I said my name & said that I have been listening to him on the radio all of my life. I think I said that I was 12 years old & what a good voice he had . He said , "I'm just an ordinary man (he was about 30 years old ) that likes to talk & meet people, so anyone that wants to come to the radio station to see how it works is welcome." So, I informed everyone I saw in the next year that I met a celebrity & he is just like anyone else, doing what he likes to do & it doesn't feel like work !!! So Dan, when you go to meet & greet, I can see the kid's excitement by looking into their eyes . They are so happy to meet you. Next time take some give away's; like toddler tee shirts and stickers , they'll never forget meeting you !!!

I would love to catch a bass that big around here. A 2 lbs. bass is about the biggest I have caught in recent memory. Nice job Houston. Wish I had a nice little bass pond to fish at here as well. I caught my biggest Bass on a Grasshopper. In a Rock Quarry. Jumped out the truck , grasshoppers everywhere. While the guys started to set up camp I snatched one cast under an overhanging tree and as soon as it hit the water. BAMB. Personal record. 41/2 lb Large mouth. All the guys stopped and started fishing lol. Out fished all them. 4 months pregnant. Great memories.

Specifically targeting bluegill is def a southern thing, never have nor have I known anyone in the northeast that wants to catch them except when using them as bait lol & never even thought to or want to eat them like you guys do.

We rake the edges of our pond. It's exactly what it sounds like. Take a lawn rake, plastic is best. Pull the algae out, let it dry & add it to the burn pile. Your animals might like it dried & cut. It would have to be a certain kind... We also use it to fertilize the garden.

Well that was fun, watching the gals catching fish! Then there was Houston, going for the big bass!!! What a way to end the hot summer evening! And Danial, the man, why I am now hooked on keeping up with all of these homesteaders, on and off grid and being a spokesperson for our Lord Jesus Christ!!! ❤

And that emu unties Jason's shoes all of the time too. And I noticed that Charlie loves to peck at people's shoes too.
