R.I.P. Bob Newhart The voice of Bernard (1929-2024)

I didn't appreciate it as a kid, but Bianca and Bernard's chemistry is so realistic. They're attracted to each other, but it's not love at first sight. They both earn that, and I love it!

Even though she finds his fear of the number 13 funny, she doesn't tease him or saying anything about it, knowing that it's just part of who he is. And he doesn't let it interfere with his work. He just needs to point out that it's there, then carry on. It's nice when you find people like that who accept your irrational phobias and even help you through it. Bianca did help him later when he went up the 13 steps on the ramp by telling him to "just jump the last one."

I love how Bernard went from janitor to top agent.

Same, and not only did that mean that bernard was no longer a janitor, it also meant that since bernard and bianca were assigned together as co-agents that officially made them colleagues for the rescue society.

I also love how there wasn't much negative fuss at all over Bernard being chosen 😁. Now if it were humans that would have been a different story 😑.

Bernard and Bianca may be one of the most wholesome couples in Disney history.. And that folks, is really saying something.

I love this scene so much because you can instantly tell she likes him. I love Miss Bianca she owns my entire being

When she first sees him, he’s standing alone outside, hat over his heart, solemnly singing the anthem. That’s definitely got to be a good impression, that she recognizes that he’s devoted to the RAS mission and values, even if his job isn’t glamorous.

I really admire Bianca's good judgement and willingness to give Bernard a chance. In reality, many would not see that much potential in a simple janitor for an agent's job.

Me watching Bernard carry in the ladder as a kid: Lol silly Bernard, silly mice! It’s a comb as a ladder 😆 Me in my 30’s with 3 ladder safety certifications from majoring in Theatre: So UnSAFE! This is why we don’t carry ladders like that, Bernard!

I like how Bernard sounds when he talks in the bottle. Also when he said he’s a janitor, I used to think he said Jack Jack.

I love the Rescuers. Best Disney film ever in my opinion. The characters are great. And the writing is decent too. I always related to Bernard. And I enjoyed Bianca's character. Great family films. Don't make them like they used to.

Looking at this scene, I'm thinking that Bernard might have helped inspire Mario's original clothes.

Oh man I really loved of Duchess’ and Bianca’s zoom ins, it really captured their beauty. The beauty can really take your breath away 😊. Eva Gabor will always be my favorite actress. She made my childhood blossom so much, her voice was so elegant.

This movie is one of my childhood favourites. 50 years and still can't forget Bernard and Bianca.

Wow. When I watches this on a all combined cartoon VHS Tape, The Technicolor was unforgettable. Brings back a powerful Memory to me.

Same with Bernard, though at first he probably thought that the likes of Bianca wouldn't be interested in a guy like him. Luckily, he was proven wrong. Because it is clear to us audience that she does like Bernard because although he is clumsy, worrywart, and a goof-up, he's still willing to help to those in need & he is adorkable.

Poor Bernard.

I've always liked Bernard (and Bianca). I always felt I could relate to him. I also really like that all the other RAS agents applauded for Bernard when Bianca chose him to be her co-agent. It shows how popular he actually was even though he was the janitor. It shows that he really has made a lot of friends here who would support him. It's a really good self-esteem moment.

Pretty interesting how Penny’s letter made it from Louisiana all the way to New York. Not unbelievable given the Atlantic Gulf Stream Current.

After its first home video release in the Classics title on September 18, 1992, The Rescuers did get another home video release in the Masterpiece title on January 5, 1999 (unlike its sequel, The Rescuers Down Under, which was excluded in the Collection title and was released under the Walt Disney Home Video title on February 4, 1997).

The 1999 Masterpiece VHS of The Rescuers had to reissued on March 23, 1999 due to an inappropriate image caught in the original January 5th copy.

Who knows how the police would have reacted to the bottle.🤔

When I hear Bernard give a reason why Bianca shouldn't have chosen him to be her co-agent, It makes me want to point out that despite his objections to the idea of him and Bianca working together it was a little too late for him to refuse because Bianca had already made her choice and therefore right or wrong deep down Bernard knew he couldn't argue and had to oblige and go with her.

Who cares. In the sequel they also landed at the precise spot in the wilds of a massive country with no more information than 'There's been a kidnapping in Australia.' Not only that, but human agents were on the case, so it makes no sense for the Rescue Aid Society to get involved. The sequel is a mess in terms of writing and character development.

Patrick, how about a Robin Hood 1973 clips and a full movie?

Hi, I know it’s really late - but I think he says, ‘have a care, there.’ - As in ‘be careful’. Hope this helps, I always have to watch old Disney movies with the subtitles on to fully grasp what they say, they talk so fast! Xxx

The word "help" was clearly visible. And yes, the Magic Mirror could have been joking when he named Snow White the fairest in the land. Geppetto might have believed Pinocchio coming to life was an elaborate prank. Hey, maybe hitting the iceberg was just someone's idea of a joke in all adaptations of the Titanic disaster...

I know this has nothing to do with this movie, but I cannot believe that the Hannah-Barbara version of Charlotte's Web is 50 years. What is harder to believe is the original World Trade Center Twin Towers would have been 50 years this year. Yes. THOSE Twin Towers. The Old School Twin Towers we grew up with. The Twin Towers which were destroyed on 9/11/01. THOSE Twin Towers. Would have been 50 years this year.
