The Republican Party in the Age of Trump
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a one-time presidential hopeful, shares his perspectives on his party and on the president - a figure who, he says, is both a corrosive influence on today’s political discourse but also a net positive for the economy and for the right. In recent months, Christie has shared that he turned down any number of jobs offered by Trump’s White House. He also wrote a book earlier this year in which he excoriates much of the White House staff (called “amateurs, grifters, weaklings” by the president). How does Christie see his friend, the president, as well as the party he calls his own? And who does he think will win in 2020? The Atlantic’s editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, promises an entertaining and wide-ranging interview.

Christie as usual is on point
Chris was spot on with so many things.!!!!!
He is not afraid or intimidated in speaking nor in answering questions. He gestures and uses emotion and humour. You may not agree with him but he speaks very well the way I like not just his answer but his responses.😊
I love this interview. Love when Christie tells it like it is

The interviewer was disgraceful, kept egging Christie on to say bad stuff about Trump. All he had to do was wait 4 years.
This should be titled Chris Christie handles the far left superbly fighting unpleasant anecdotes with fact. It's like watching an emotional rollercoaster getting the plug pulled and realizing its just a roller coaster. Then the riders wake up oh this thing is supposed to take me back where I started in the beginning. God's honest truth is what this sounds like.

Awesomely Deceitful yes.
When you know someone for 20 years you will know things about someone that nobody else knows but you will not necessarily be able to identify what those things are, the nuances are tangible but difficult to describe.
I think Jeffrey shouldn’t host a guest because he was trying to make his points more than Chris and it was for Chris’s viewpoint he was the interviewee. Disruptive and interrupting constantly. And I side with the left! 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Christie helped this interview , the interviewer's friendship came through dint look serious at all and Christie run the interview.
I think we’re gonna need a bigger chair…😏
Excellent discussion, finally an intelligent conversation between people from different political views.
49:00 Again WHAT Trump policy prescriptions? Why hasn't Trump startedy them after 3 years? I mean, not saying "Trump started", But actually started.
You did not do a service to your country
Does anybody know what they're talking about at 13:55? What "Iranian Strike" was cancelled and why was it planned in the first place?
Jeff was weak in this interview.

He was too emotional
Chis Christi is amazing!
No one in the White House ever had experience
A positive discussion. Its the way the system should function. And its basically nice,
Why not Corey Booker over Joe Biden in terms of policy? I think Booker is better on the streets than on the stage. Is his leadership on policy credible.
Christie go away
The base of a party is more important then the country because segments decide not countries
Fortunately for us Christie’s is done he won’t be doing anything but lobbyists work
We get truth from all pundits and media spin
Christie is a consumate politician.
Christie, look at the people in Philadelphia,Kensington Ave,how can you fix that.
Why does he have a red streak under his eyes?
He is a pshycoligical monster you could not see he was nuts
15:00 Way to go audience!
😂😂 what happened to the unused money from people being healthy?😂😂 Let me guess, it all went to the Healthcare industry and some of that went to campaigns like those of Christie to keep this scam going.😂 You just got to love the American system of Corporate Socialism AKA Fascism..
Christie is an ad for trump
25 minutes in, a very prescient prediction about the 2020 election, pre-Covid.
The Apprentice, Celebrity Apprentice, fourteen seasons, now President, and Entertainer-in-Chief. Roger Ailes declared in 1968 that political parties would eventually become media networks. So, if that happens who do you think becomes the leader of that party? (Omarosa!!!)

7:35-How is this sniveling person the editor-in-chief of th Atlantic?
I think Christie should never be president, coz every country he visits might have to modify their chairs
I’m glad Christie’s gone I would not vote for him again

God put Trump in office and He will bring him back. Why did Christie recommend Wray for FBI chief? He is a rino.
I will vote for Trump because I believe in the policy prescriptions he sets fourth!!! Really like storming the Capitol??? Really Christy?
Mmm. No thanks
If Chris was VP. Trump would have been re-elected

Christie's right about Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania being the key to ousting Trump. Now if he could just stay home instead of making Trump acceptable to reasonable moderates in search of a conscience..... Christie'll survive Trump, the kids in cages not so much...

Obama instituted the policy and was caging children and even defended himself. Not a peep from mainstream news. The tactical effort made by the institution to pit people against each other in groups rather than have the masses unified against the rich is the greatest accomplishment the media has ever made.
I give you my 3 Rules of Trump. Not that you will become a Trump supporter (though you should :-)), but that you can come to a better understanding of what is going on. And you stop acting like the cat chasing the laser pointer 1. Pay Little attention to what he tweets . 2. Pay Some attention to what he says 3. Pay A Lot of attention to what he Does.

55:55 sorry, Christe, your desire to reject government accountability is hypocritical. I want our government to be able to convict and remove crooked authoritarianis, NOT empower them. What's wrong with you?
We knew Trump would hurdle the bipartisan antics and be for the People and not Fake Government when after not getting Ross Perot(we wanted). We said okay, even the worst bussnessman can correct Government, enter Trump. We listened and begged him to run for over 30 years. He would'nt do it. Now, he has and won! His words havent changed so, we trust him. Nobody else has that. And he's a whirlwind at getting something constructively done.
28:00 "What the hell are Trump and christe doing in the white house."

1:04:00 Every objection christe pointed out, Americans are OVERWHELMINGLY in favor for. So, your disagreements are ACTUALLY w) the American people, not Democrat.
Point out legit unhelpful rheoritc that opposes Right wing nonsense?
1:11:00 We could work with other countries to get them to develop their economies so they have opportunities there in stead of coming here to find non exists here
17:30 I want the truth, but we don't look for it. It's not a partisan issue but brings up a false analogy w/ bill Clinton. Conseul vs NON conseul. That is a big leap of moral logic
11:10 Did Trump really listen? Trump loves his kids or loves what they can do FOR him?
21:50 Boy christie, your Trump apologetics fail here
49:00 boy christe evasions and open support for an obvious crooked authoritarian should be applied to his workouts. Also more energy into thinking out his real position's would be More helpful. He Sounds too much like a crooked authoritarian himself.
Who decided it was a good idea to invite this bully?

If you think he’s a “bully” (and I don’t disagree on that point) best to understand him and his ilk to deal with them effectively.
29:00 Trump only loves what his family can do For him.
