I just bought a 275 Trophy (Number 815) today, couldn't be happier after never having looked at Meganes seriously before. I've previously owned an '92 R32 Gts-t Skyline (2L inline 6 turbo) and a '11 Ford Focus XR5/ST (2.5L inline 5 turbo). I'm fully expecting to end up loving this car as much as I did both of those for different reasons.

I made the same jump from a Stage 1 manual 140 to a 265 Cup pack running 315bhp. The most frustrating thing about the 140 was the body control and damping which the megane laughs in the face of as well as giving great feedback and engagement. I'm just over the A69 if you need any more convincing to do it 😂

I was over that way on Sunday some nice roads.

They're very nice cars and a rare sight to see on day-to-day driving. You'd put a lot of cars to shame on a trackday for sure. Depending on how far you go for a track setup, it might be a bit much for a daily driver.

Just bought a 265 about a month ago. All i can say is, im in love with it, best car i have ever driven. Dont regret buying it one bit. Would definitly recomend it

Great video m8 nicely presented, I love my RS265, got vis pack , lux pack and cup pack , 317bhp 418Nm with some nice engine exhaust mods . I actually love the interior, especially the recaros. Look forward seeing more videos m8

Having owned a saxo vts when I was 17 I'd say you're spot on here all French hot hatches are the same great fun but temperamental as hell

I had a play with this today in my mapped a35 AMG bloody quick, I was only pulling steadily was keeping up, looks nice too 👍

I have a MK4 Clio RS and you’re so right about the electrics, absolute pain in the a$$. Other than that I’ve had 0 issues engine wise

When I moved away from the 140, I was looking at the 250 cup but settled on an E86 Z4. There's just something about having 6 cylinders that makes you feel good.

EJ67DXY was a mates car that he originally had converted to the meg lump, big throwback!

Had an m135i and a 250 cup with some mods, I loved the megane way more. Better sense of speed and it actually goes around a corner.

Mainly road oriented tbh, but I do want to start getting some laps in. Might go down the Karting route though!

Never been a fan of Renault's even tho having a 172 in the past. But these do look the part and from what I'm told handle well. Had the first b road bash in my m140i the weekend and feel it's definitely a straight line car. I feel the power is wasted as you can't get it down without lsd or suspension mods. Don't get me wrong I love it but getting the itch for another type r or even s2000 just for weekends.

Have you considered a civic type r or a focus st/rs ?

I currently own an r53 mini and it seems that buying one of these would be a decent set up with a lot of driver. Focus characteristics I think

Very nice, the French no how to make a hot hatch! Great fun, though watch out for dodgy electrics 🤣 I had a F1 R26 before my 140 and i loved it. The 275 is the one to go for.

if i learnt one thing from the new grand tour season it was that quality does not matter in france, you have more chance a dent on your front bumper than seeing a nice car in france

We need a catchup mate and I'll get my mates fully built r26. 410 bhp and it was one of the very last mk2 to be built

Just to complicate it, you could also have the Nav version with cup pack added, which includes the LSD. Great cars. Bloody uncomfortable as a daily

I got my 275 before the lockdown for £13.5k with 29k on the clock... Same thing is now going for 15k+... I'd cash in if I didn't love it so much 😂 Myself along with other meg owners can't recommend them enough... They are great track cars straight out of the box and make great dailys also.

The “r26” you showed are 225’s not r26’s mate. I haven’t seen one for 3k anywhere, I’d say 5k for an actual r26. Very different car, 225 has no diff. They’re all fun cars anyway 👍🏻👍🏻

Lovely car and considered them myself however I have seen far too many of these on their roofs... although let's be honest that could be an issue with the fleshy thing in the drivers seat going full send round a corner in a baguette
