The relaunch of Lambousa traditional Trawler at the main News of CyBC on the 28th of June 2024.
The boat went back to the sea after 3.5 years in dry dock at Karnayio, Limassol.
The UNESCO chair on Digital Cultural Heritage following an invitation from the Mayor of Limassol Mr. Nicos Nikolaides, undertook the 2D and 3D Survey of the trawler, as well as its 3D Modelling and preparation of the Naval Engineering drawing. This was possible due to the full financial support from the EU projects: ERA CHAIR Mnemosyne (www.erachair-dch.eu) and Digital-Europe EUreka3D projects (www.eureka3d.eu)
Lambousa was harvested in the EU digital Library Europeana on the 14th of May 2024 in Brussels on a special ceremony (TwinIT). At this unique event, the EU Member States Ministers of Cultures presented unique national treasures. The CY deputy Minister Dr. L. Kassianidou demonstrated the Lambousa Trawler.
