The relationship of Queen Elizabeth II with Sri Lanka

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, passed away on 08 September.
In 1954, just months after her coronation, Queen Elizabeth II engaged in a royal visit to Sri Lanka. This was the first visit to Sri Lanka by a reigning monarch but not the last.
In honour and remembrance, keep watching to discover how Sri Lanka was connected to the late monarch.

As a sri lankan, i think we need to be educated on colonialism and how much damage the monarchy caused sri lanka. We were robbed, looted of our riches, diamonds and wealth. The british destroyed our country, along with the rest of South Asia. If we had that awareness we wouldn't make videos depicting the relationships between sri lanka and the britan as a positive, equal relationship. It saddens me, that the average sri lankan doesn't know anything about the legacy of colonialism in our country and how it affects us to this day.

We are still robbed to this day but by the politicians not the British. Atleast the British contributed alot towards the development of this country. For example To this day we still use the railways that were built by the British. So colonialism isn't as bad as you make it to be. And the British colonization changed alot for the better in this country.
