Nice timing. When I finished watching this video, I put on the Woo Sox games and he blasts a two-run homer. I could see him joining the Sox this year.

Oh yeah ..I have been trolling Yankee fans about this since Trevino and Boone got embarrassed on national TV and run out of Fenway a couple of Sundays ago. I've watched him live about 10x .. he's the real deal. His swing and approach at the plate is special...and he can throw guys out.

Nice interview, much more confident great job. The only downside with him is his age and the fact that he's likely blocked by Wong and Teel unless he can sneak into the lineup before Teel is ready. He might be a decent trade chip if he can get to the MLB and perform before Teel is ready.

Yeah I am thinking that may be the case, but with his ability to play 1st and the sox having virtually no right handed back up options he may be able to find a place on the team even if it isn't as a catcher or a full time player

@@redseatradio hey Dalbec is right handed lol... Oh do I wish he was rookie Dalbec again... I think him and/or Hickey will likely be part of a trade in the future although again his value might be low because of his age. He might make good sense for a team without a starting catcher or one out for the year to take a chance on but I think he'd need some MLB time to show he can handle at least a short term role there. I'm thinking his window is really small like next two years make it or he likely never will... Sad to say

In case you were wondering his pop is 1.6- 1.8 depending on what scout you talk to. You could ask him. I've watched him play but I don't have access to equipment or official info. If you go to minor league 12:05 games ( I live in southern New Hampshire and am 20 minutes out of Gill Stadium , less than an hr from Portland and about a hour from Worchester. )Minor league games are cheaper especially if you use sr. Discounts and parking , concessions and the ability to roam around and talk to people is easy. Actually enjoy them more than MLB.

He’s definitely be an interesting prospect. I wonder if they’d move him up or ship him out and look at Teel in September? It brings in an interesting dynamic. I am glad they’re patient with our big 3. We see what happened with Holiday and Jordan Lawler when they got rushed up. It was a pretty big step back when they weren’t successful.

I think that is a possibility I also think that you could use Gasper outside of the catching role which may make him a bit more valuable this year regardless of how Teel does

You’re doing great. I like how you have access to our players in the minors. I can really appreciate how Sox been utilizing their farm system more and more in the past 5 or so years. I’d say that was one of the only things Mr. Bloom did during his time as operations manager

Never heard of him before this video. I hope they trade Valdez and McGuire. I think the players in AAA are no worse. Gaspers versatility is important. Sometimes when down by a couple runs you just need base runners if he could do that at a major league level that would be important.

Really clever take on how he might augment the major league team. But I wonder if it might be tough for the pitchers and a new catcher who doesn't know them well to work together effectively.

  • @redseatradio

Yeah that is a really big question, but I also think these guys are professionals and if the system the sox have in place works he should be able to mimic other catchers as well

This was a great rule 5 minor league phase draft pick. Loved they stole him from the rival Yanks. I know the Sox picked him to work with another former Yank, Richard Fitts, but he adds much needed catching depth to our system. Great interview Corbin👍... keep em coming! Love your content ❤

Glad someone finally noticed Gasper's scorching start. Good bat and versatility. Question is, can he catch reasonably well? When Casas returns, it's fun to imagine Campbell taking over at second and Gasper sharing time with Wong. Could be the best offense in baseball.

  • @redseatradio

    @redseatradio

    25 күн бұрын

Well I think that may be something that could end up holding himi down, I do wonder with Casas coming back to first if they think he may be useful as a backup firstbaseman semi utility guy on the bench that could give you a bit of pop from both sides later down the road

Bring him up those stats he has can be a very critical game changer and decisive for the team in winning or losing. The middle of the line up needs to be addressed and until it does games they probably could’ve won will not be because they have an answer in the minors with Mickey Gasper. Sometimes big things comes in small packages.

The answer to your questions are certainly, and perhaps his relationship with Fitz has carried through the minors. When you know pictures really well as a catcher and it played with them for a while that's really good chemistry and it works throughout the rungs of the baseball ladder
