Marcella Detroit was one half of the multi-platinum duo Shakespeare’s Sister who topped international charts in the late ’80s with “Stay” and “Your History”. She has also toured with Bob Seger and Leon Russell, opened for David Bowie as well as sung duets with Alice Cooper and Elton John. She performed at Live Aid on stage with Phil Collins and Eric Clapton and as a member of Clapton’s band, she co-wrote hits like “Lay Down Sally” and “Tangled In Love” and wrote songs for Robin Gibb, Belinda Carlisle, Chaka Kahn and Three Dog Night, all while maintaining a successful solo career …Marcy joined us recently in The Record Player to talk about the recent Shakespeare’s Sister reunion and her other career highlights …. 🎵

She truly did.
What a nice lady. She always seems very down to earth and like she would be fun visit with over coffee or a pint. It had to have been very difficult with Shakespear's Sister falling apart right when it was hitting it's peak but it seems most bands have a relatively short shelf-life almost always due to personalities.

Great stuff. I too hope we get that 5th Shakespears Sister album from Marcella and Siobhan.
Marcella's had such an interesting career as a singer, songwriter, backup singer and ect. So much she has done over the years.
