The Recon Challenge | Honoring their Sacrifice

We live by their memory. We never forget.
Marines push their mind and body to the limit in the annual Recon Challenge, to honor both the sacrifices made by our fallen brothers. Maj. Patrick Zuber runs the challenge in memory of Cpl. Joseph Lyons and his valiant efforts during the Vietnam War.
(U.S. Marine Corps video by Sgt. William J. Perkins)

    +Misfit Actual I had a traumatic car accident on 2005, a Realtor was on his phone, I was stopped in traffic, he cruhsed my car at over 60mph, so memory was lost from the prior years. I just remember that I was a forward observer(radioman) for an artillery battery. I can't recall the MOS number. I'm going to have to Google it.

    Civvie here, I wanted to do something like a 30 mile ruck with 60 pounds as my commemoration for veterans day/armistice/rememberance day (Nov. 11) Got hit with COVID right before it and have been sick as a dog, and despite it getting colder and colder and me not being at my 100% (I've been getting some nutty bronchodilation with the cold weather and very light exercise) I still want to train and do that 30 miler for the amazing veterans I have as friends and the many more I've had the honor of meeting I love them dearly and hope that I can make them proud

    havingfun1968 I have a question. I've heard it's possible to transfer from enlisted to officer once you reach a specific rank or something, do you still have to get a degree if you do that?

  • @havingfun1968

    @havingfun1968

    7 жыл бұрын

    Bill Clinton Yes, you still need a degree unless it's war time like they did back in Vietnam. You also have to be tested because if you ate smart enough, and you qualify for Intel, there are a lot of doors that can open for you. But the degree is still necessary. Plus, today you can get one on line, so it's a lot easier.. Good luck brother and Semper Fi.

    Zucker= nasty self- er= watcher of, Zuber= maybe a circle-- watcher. I couldn't be, RECON-- I cannot relax for, airborne ops ever. Nuts. Did a civilian jump, once- 45sec. Recon= evil or again, strength-- or rec-on= first strength-- workout processes of anatomy.
