Its sad how much effort they are trying to get it rated. I feel bad for Zoink for having to reverify the level (EDIT) im not hear to brag about likes, im here to bring up the recent rating of the level. I think it definitely deserves thes rating it got. Its the first time we have gotten a top 1 that isnt a hell/edgy themed level in a long while. Good job to OniLink, Zoink, and everyone else involved in making this tsunami of a level make as much of an impact on this somewhat-small community

If the fact it’s verified in 360 Hz being the case then he should just unrate the entire top 20. Plus Zoink verified it in 2.1 when everyone was using 360 so robtop is being completely unfair with this one

It really sucks that for whatever reasons Robtop has he kind of just pretended that Tidal Wave didn’t exist for four months and then said that the verification wasn’t legitimate because of 240 physics and as someone who was there for the verification I can say that this has been very anti-climactic for how exciting the verification was.

The effort put into this is major, but if the developer of the game says it is not allowed, then it shouldn't unexpected that he refuses to rate a level

Why the fuck, would Tidal Wave not get rated because of it being verified in 2.1 on 360 fps bypass, when there are plenty of rated levels which have been verified after Tidal Wave, still in 2.1 and on 360 fps bypass??? For example Eyes in the water has been verified 2 whole months after Tidal Wave and it is rated. Like I can get that maybe rob or the mods don't like how the level looks or sth but it pisses me off that everyone is just trying to come up with these bs excuses to keep the level unrated.

Ok, here's some reasons on why Tidal Wave should be rated. 1. Decoration: RobTop rated Silent Clubstep... if THAT got rated, why the hell not Tidal Wave? Not to mention more levels that have questionable decoration got rated. 2. FPS: It was verified quite a while before 2.2, and multiple levels verified on 360 were rated AFTER TIDAL WAVE GOT VERIFIED! 3. Gameplay: How many of the mods who said Tidal Wave shouldn't be rated do you think have notable progress or are good enough to beat it? 4. Optimization: Way laggier levels have gotten rated in the past... and besides, I think it's not THAT badly optimized. So... yeah, not much I can say here other then that Tidal Wave deserves a rate.

To be completely fair, Silent Clubstep was more than likely rated because it's an incredibly historic and influential level, not for decoration reasons.

1. Not rated, because of deco, but rated because of history. Not comparable levels. Other levels don't have copy paste so it's borderline star worthy, but I guess it would normally get rated with this amount of pressure. Standards have risen, so people should stop comparing levels rated many years ago. 2. Fair point, but who said FPS was the reason for not sending it to RobTob? I couldn't find a screenshot of the convo. Even if a legitimate mod said this, it can't be the reason, it's just too stupid to be an actual reason. 3. How is that relevant? 4. It's merely an extra point that makes rating it harder. With this, RobTop hasn't given a direct statement on why it's not getting rated when normally with this much pressure it would. My theory is that RobTop is gonna make an example of Tidal Wave that if people protest and spam it to him, he will not rate the level. It's fair, but also unfair. Lose-lose situation. Also I dare anyone to mention Krmal levels. We know Krmal gets special treatment from RobTop. Tidal Wave is not getting that treatment.

It's ridiculous that a level verified in 2.1 isn't rated for 360 fps, it's even more ridiculous how Robtop is trying to skill cap people for absolutely no reason other than avoiding level bugs.

Man, I really love tidal wave. I wish it will get rated. It deserves it.

Its actually sad that tidal wave isn’t getting rated, because Verifying tidal wave was one of zoink’s biggest accomplishments, and seeing the level not getting rated makes me feel like Robtop has absolutely no respect for zoink.

This is exactly what I was thinking about yesterday. I remembered that robtop has that feature that allows to see if a level was legitimately verified, and maybe tidal wave wasn't legitimately verified.

Unpopular opinion, but RobTop has been such a good developer to us that if he thinks something shouldn't be in the game I 100% trust his reasoning. He has given us just about everything we've wanted and 5 times more, if he thought having the frame cap at 360hz was good for the game he would do it. I have a feeling he is doing this for several reasons, likely technical issues first and foremost. I personally think doubting him isn't going to get anyone anywhere. It's unfortunate Zoink or someone else will have to reverify, but I'm pretty sure the cap being changed to 240hz has been known among the technically involved players for some time now, and this probably could've been avoided. Edit: Just wanted to add that apparently RobTop himself said it isn't the 360hz thing stopping him from rating tidal wave. Apparently, his only response to why he wouldn't rate it was something alongside the lines of "it doesn't look fun" and I am very disappointed to hear that because if levels can just not be rated anymore because RobTop doesn't like them, that's going to lead to a lot of distrust in the community and creators may not be as eager to make levels anymore. I really hope he changes his mind soon and rates tidal wave.

Robtop capped the physics framerate at 240 instead of 320 because of performance. The higher the physics FPS gets, more calculations are required to run the game properly, which would make the game unplayable on old devices

its because people keep complaining about it not being rated it gets annoying, then robtop has the decision of rating it, everyone still finds a way to get upset you cant please this community, this community is unfortunately so one sided clearly robtop knows something about zoink 99.8% of us dont know about

incase u guys just want the answer straight away here: because robtop wouldn’t get the game more then 220 fps because then the game would be buggy and he’s not a fan when ppl use mods and when ppl use mods to verify levels he dosent rate them even tho beating levels at 241+ fps dosent count as cheating so for tidal wave to be rated someone will have to reverify tidal wave at 240- fps but the redeco might be worse so it might not be desserved I hope the redeco is just as good

So, i think that even tho tidal wave will probably look better after the redecoration, it won't be like the old one since lot of players including me built special connection with the tidal wave itself and it's current design because we link current tidal wave with all the amazing events that we experienced leading to it's verification. According to that, I unfortunately don't see it that positively because the new tidal wave simply won't be tidal wave that we know from the time we watched Zoink's streams and enjoyed the atmosphere of sticking together as a community.

I have a possibility. If someone beat Tidal Wave in 2.2 then it might get rated. I mean it can happen. Whenever someone cheats on a level it has its rating kept if someone else beat it after. So maybe if someone beat Tidal Wave in 2.2 it may get rated.

I came to the same conclusion some time before 2.2 dropped. I do sort of feel bad for Zoink as verifying Tidal Wave is a great accomplishment. I also respect RobTop's point of view and believe this will be a good decision for the game's health in the long run, and a couple years from now we'll look back at it completely differently. Then again, Zoink's been beating some very hard levels in 2.2 and I believe in Cherry Team's ability to turn Tidal Wave from a pretty solid level into something truly special in the 2.2 editor, so maybe we'll see a new and improved version rated on the servers before too long.

The redeco does look cooler but it doesn’t have the same charm. It’s like playing a remake of your favourite old game. It just feels wrong almost.

I think the best choice of action is someone to reverify Tidal Wave on 240 fps or Zoink reverify the level if cherry team is gonna do the redeco i think it's better to keep the original deco but make it more polished..

I fucking hate the demons list. Because 2.2 is (presumably) the only update the list maintainers have ever been through, they don't realize that a game update means change. The only thing that should've been done was to ban FPS bypass as soon as 2.2 came out, but nope. Disappointed. As for tidal wave, it should be rated *because it was verified in 2.1* but any completions using FPS bypass now should be considered illegitimate.

Im kinda glad that rob doesnt want 360 to be a thing. the way i see it is 240 is the perfect blend of "make the game easier" and "the game is still a challenge". 360 just makes the game free from what ive seen. some people i know say that theres not much more of a difference between 240 fps and 360 fps, but theres still a difference. if you play on 360 you have some form of a skill issue if you need to have that high of an fps. just suck it up and deal with 240.

It would be incredibly bad ass if Zoink goes and beats Tidal Wave again. That would be a massive statement and would make him undeniably GD's GOAT if he already isn't.

With every day passing I lose more hope of tidal wave ever getting rated. Its a cool level and it would be cool to log on one day to see it rated

However, RobTop did say on Reddit it is not because it was verified on 360fps because it's pre-2.2 ; it's all about mods and him deciding to rate it or not. Also said on Discord "Will see if I rate or not, I think we having fun no".

I just saw another video about why tidal wave is not rated. There the person says that other extreme demons are rated with 360 bypass only. So I don't know.

I always felt like it's not getting rated because it's OniLinks first level and Robtop doesnt want to promote the idea that everyone can make a top 1 as their first level and "get famous". The fps bypass thing just sounds like an excuse that's too stupid to be true.

Unpopular opinion: people need to stop bypassing the limits of the game. If the level is impossible in vanilla GD, then it's impossible. If I were a pro player, I won't download a hack just for beat a level. I think that's unnecessary and stupid. Well, I'm going to sit, and wait for my cancellation...

Why tf are extreme demon levels like tidal wave even rated in the first place, only a very small amount of people can even beat the them, good luck with your star grinding (oh and emerald realm can't be rated because it's laggy!?) Instead of a rate they should give the level a little badge or something
