I am so glad you brought up Arizona with the MLK day for two reasons: I am a native Arizonan who was living in another state at the time of the Stevie Wonder song about why MLK Day needed to be a holiday. Now, I am attempting to educate others about Juneteenth as well as The Crown Act. The discussion about the PanAfrican colors concerns me a little bit. I understand what people are stating in the comments. I am American yes, but I am also of African descent and of Caribbean descent. The month of June is also Caribbean American month. Therefore, there are all kinds of colors in my house right now, and on my person celebrating all of this. Ask me if my job actually gave me the day off for MLK day or Juneteenth: it did not. I used my own vacation time for each day for days of service, not just days away from work.

it celebrates the pathetic existence of a group of Africans who were conquered by other, more powerful African tribes and enslaved by them. These conquering tribes then sold or traded their black slaves to the European slave traders were some were sent to the United States for sale. Once there they were purchased and put on plantations to work. For hundreds of years they works on the tobacco, cotton and other farms and plantations and never made an effort to free themselves. It was only after a white Republican by the name of Abraham Lincoln decided to push the Emancipation Proclamation were the slaves freed. BTW So if you are a decedent of these people, you are basically from pretty pathetic stock. Just facts.
