I agree 💯 with you the RE3 remake was butchers beyond recognition mess. It was just a half @sse,d rushed out unfaithful demo for the full price of a finished game that it was not the case. Compared to the master piece of the original. Unfortunately I doubt they are Gona re remake it to fix their horrible mistakes

It is the golden standard of how a remake should be done because not only did it make major improvements to the original (cutscenes, voice acting, graphics), it also added content on top of it that further fleshed out the story but didn’t change the it in a major way (Lisa Trevor, crimson heads). This is what RE3R should have done instead of cutting out the Clock Tower level or changing the iconic way Brad Vickers died.

I was there for all of the Resident Evils, I have tried hard but I can't stand fixed camera controls and I can't phathom why anyone could call it a remake without giving it modern controls. RE2 and RE4 are perfect remakes and RE0, RE1 and Code Veronica all direly need over the shoulder remakes.

I remember being so hyped when they first announced RE2 remake it’s crazy how fast time flies. Honestly since it seems they’re going to do a 5 remake I personally think they should remake 1 and CV first. That way new players can have a better understanding of Chris and Weskers story. I’m in a weird place cause I want RE1 remade like the new remakes, but I also still would love for an RE2 remake similar to REmake.

@@scottroxford5715 yeah I can't stand remakes it's insane they have ruined this fanbase and divided it into two fractions remastered old games would be better not remakes.

The Gamecube Remake is untouchable unless the level design is further improved and still can be expanded upon. It is an amazing entry point to the genre. Without it, games like Tormented Souls or Signalis wouldn’t exist. Sure Zero did hurt some continuity bits, but Remake brought so much new that is now considered the standard such as defensive items and the V-ACT process. I think the reason I don’t want it to be redone again is that it would lose the magic of the presentation, specifically the cinematography for each “shot”. Some of the points of view in the RE1 Remake are downright unsettling or magical and that is not something that can be appreciated in most modern RE games. I consider it a genuine work of art. By comparison, Code Veronica needs a full shakeup as it is probably the most divisive title as far as I observed since I’ve seen the two extremes.

Not true. RE4 is playable for us gamers that played it many many years after release because you get used to the bad controls, and then it's not so bad, but for RE1 you can get over the graphics but almost no players that didn't play it back then can get into the game because of the tank controls and the view.

It MIGHT just be a coincidence but I noticed something while playing Ashley’s section in RE4 remake. When you get the bundle of 4 keys, the order you use the keys(assuming you go in order of where you are able to use them with the treasure boxes and elevator door) is 2nd key, 3rd key, 4th key, then 1st key. What order did the recent remakes come out? 2 then 3 then 4. Like I said it’s PROBABLY a coincidence but what if it’s a hidden message from capcom saying what’s next

We need an RE1 remake in 2026 to celelbrate 30 years since the first one.

RE Code Veronica and 5 should hopefully be next. Then if Capcom are willing... explore the story past RE 6 with the original characters. (Jill, Claire, Leon, Ada and Chris even though we've seen him in RE 7 and Village.)

Totally agree with the Code Veronica part, but something about RE5 being remastered feels off. Don't get me wrong, it was a cool game, had nice co-op campaign, made me wanna go to the gym to punch boulders and was hardly scary (which would be the main goal if they really did remake the game) but it doesn't seem to have the same urgency RE2 had since it's a 2009 game...

@@omanophil You have a point but in terms of story RE5 can have that enhancement for the new generation of players. Balance the action and horror a lot better. Give more storytelling to Wesker since he's the most iconic villain of the franchise. Make the African setting even more exotic/mysterious. It does feel like the final one that needs a remaster. I don't think anyone wants to see a rerun of 6. (I wonder what they'll do with the Boulder-punching this time... 😆)

In my opinion, there isn’t a need. Re3 remake was a bit of a let down. But the re1 remake done years ago was absolutely amazing so I wouldn’t be keen if they bought out a new remake for re1. But love this video!

In my opinion they should have remade Code Veronica before 4, Residend Evil 4 needed a remake even less then Super Metroid does.

@sneed1208 why would 5 or 6 even need a remake? Cvx has issues that need to be fixed and is arguably one of the best games. 5&6 still look good regardless of 6 being trash and 5 sold the best because it followed the hype from 4 people seem to forget that.

I’m glad they started with 2, and that they learned from the mistakes of 3. Now I genuinely would love to see RE1 in this new engine! I don’t like the gap on my shelf 😂

I honestly believe that they are saving the best for last - sort of of going back to where it all began with the first game and taking everything they have learned from the remakes they have done to make it a good one.

I would really like to see RE1 in their current game engine and with updated camera. I actually think that now would be perfect time to have it remade, because we've seen 2,3 and 4, all chapters that doesn't revolve around Chris vs Wesker saga. There's no better title to start this trilogy (1, CV, 5) and introduce new fans to these characters, than first game.

I think this is a double edged sword you either get a 3 remake where it butchers the game or a two remake where it does all the things for gameplay but whoever did the story had only a vague idea of the characters & removed their original depth like Ada not having a character arc caused by Leon being so willing to help a woman he'd only just meet risking his life for her a concept that she couldn't understand & this would lead to her giving the B player the Rocket launcher for the MR X boss unlike the new one where they kinda lean into her being a spy too much to notice the development she had. But nobody really praises that game for its story they praise it for getting the gameplay well. But I think 1 only really could work in its current form where it is perfect. I think removing its remake by making another Remake would remove the chances for newer fans to ever get to understand the fixed camera angles & the tank controls which may encourage them to get on to play RE2 & RE3 Nemesis as well as 0 & Code Veronica through ports or other means as they won't be as unfamiliar with the style.

@@entertainmentgaming8738 nah that's not what it did. It succeded so well that it set up a new style of game the modern 3rd person shooter & that lead to the series having a revival. I started with 6 & Revelations 2 & when I heard they where remaking RE2 back in 2018 I was expecting a remake like the RE1 Remake which they didn't do compromising the original's style for something different which kinda spits on the idea of remaking it but they pulled off most of it bar the story due to odd changes that add plot holes & lessen characters (& that god awful ending) but I just don't see the need in remaking a master peice to appeal to people who want it. If they do anything release the older games in HD so people can get them without going to places like MagiPack which is where I got RE2 original as I wanted to play it before the remake as well best way to judge is to know what it is trying to remake & I miss the zapping system that adds replay value unlike the remake which the B is identical to A after the Police station.

Yes, RE1 got a remake already from 2002, the only reason why RE2, RE3, RE4 got remakes because the originals were aging poorly and Capcom has a goal to give every mainline RE game (before RE7) the RE Engine remake treatment. RE1 doesn't need it for the time being, but will eventually get it alongside RE0 or even RE6 once Code Veronica and RE5 have gotten their remakes. Capcom did say more remakes are on the way, so another remake for RE1 is on their radar. A 1st person + 3rd person RE Engine remake for RE1 will sell gangbusters.

I'm not sure I feel about having another remake of the first game because you'll lose the classic charm which is why I want Survivor, Aim Dead, and Code Veronica to have a remake as well Outbreak at least getting a remaster imported with added stuff that didn't make it to the original game.

After playing the games, I can see a potential for a Re2 Remake style remake of the first game. It can work and be good.

I think the reason why people want another remake of RE1 is because to keep it consistent with the Westernize direction the series is going since RE7. Resident Evil games since RE7 has always feel different from prior games, especially with the scripting and atmosphere they have.

I don’t think the style of RE2 remake would work for RE1 even if they decided to modernize it. It works for 2-3 because those games were always envisioned as more action oriented, open games.

dood what a throw back i remember being 16 in 2015 hyped for the "we do it" teaser i was so hyped because my older cousin showed me the series with REmake as a child.

great video. shocked you only have 32 subscribers. i think the RE1 remake remaster has done a fantastic job overall (minus a bad glitch in the music that requires a fix that can only be done on the PC version -.-) bringing it into the modern age. it looks amazing, but a lot of gamers don't enjoy the tank controls and consider them outdated. personally i love them so if RE1 wouldn't get remade i wouldn't care at all!

I know this video talks about the RE1 remake, but it failed to mention that not only was it remade, it has also been remastered. The remasters version does away with the tank controls.

I can understand if they're asking for a RE2 style remake, which I actually wouldn't mind (as long as they expand the Rebecca segment and give Barry a similar playable segment in Jill's campaign), but it's not neccesary since RE1R is so good. Now, if they remade RE0 and combined it with the remake of 1, I'd be down for that too.

Resident Evil 1 already had a perfect remake that doesn't take away it's core gameplay to make it more mainstream. I'd play OG 2 and 3 over the over the should nonsense that they made them. 4 is fine since that game was already in the style. I was honestly shocked that they didn't make the dead space remake a twin stuck top down shooter.

The GameCube remake was great, but with what the RE2 remake accomplished in bringing the series more consistent in gameplay with the original RE4, it does make sense for a second remake of the original Resident Evil. The most highly demanded remake is Code Veronica, and that should be priority. However, as divisive as RE5 and 6 were, I don't think they really need remakes (even if I thought 6 was mostly bad and it's only Mercenaries and playing co-op that redeems it somewhat).

the fact that RE1 was the only one with a remake was so puzzling for me, i have the hd version of RE1, RE0 and RE4 still installed in my ps3 and next to that RE2 and RE3 ps one classics, in my opinion a RE2 remake was the perfect move, it is a beloved story and the updated gameplay was more impactful, RE1 remake still looks stunning with the high detailed character models on top of the pre rendered backgrounds, and the old fix camera style fits the "claustrophobic" feeling of the mansion.

Because the OG REmake's remaster is the best game in the series and still amazing today

Back in the day ALOT of fans really wanted an RE2 remake in the same style as the RE1 remake. That was all the focus. This never happened, but eventually RE2 was remade but as a RE4 style game. That’s why no one cared about an RE1 remake. It had already been done.

I'd really like another remake of 1. It's doesn't have to better than the first remake of 1, just complimented it in it's own unique style and gameplay. People get too tied in the debate of new vs old style, whereas I feel both don't necessarily negate the other. I want Resident Evil games to come out in both old _and_ new styles.

All I need to be happy is an RE1 remake remake, and an RE3 remake remake

Then, let’s make them hear our cry for RE1 and 0 remake!

I'm fairly sure they will eventually remake RE1 in the style of RE2 Remake, but it's going to be the last of their remakes, sort of cherry on top.

i think now is a perfect time for a RE1 remake. instead of jumping straight to 5 they should give newer players a chance to learn chris’ story and get to know him and wesker before they jump into re5. newer players who might’ve only played 7, 8, and the remakes might not know much about chris other than his action segments in 8😂 imagine a masterpiece of a re1 remake, then code veronica or 5. there’s so much potential and they seem to be taking it serious as we’ve seen with 8 and 4 remake recently.

That wasn't a real remake and I will not except it. We need a RE1 and RE0 modern remake just like RE2 and 3. Also RE3 Remake was great and does'nt deserve the hate it gets.

REmake is the PERFECT Resident Evil game. Pretty much untouchable. It would take a miracle to have a remake on the same caliber of that game and I'd hope Capcom knows the uphill battle they'd have just trying to match it, let alone surpass it.

@@EggEnjoyer you're not wrong, but when it comes to Resident Evil remakes, at least anything before RE4, old fans (like me) still would've loved to see those hold true the originals, in term of fixed camera angles and tank controls. I'll admit it's just a desire for things to be new, but remain the same as possible without being an exact copy. With REmake, they did just that. That said, I did enjoy REmakes 2 and even 3.

The Reason Capcom Skipped Dead Rising 1 Remake

I think the RE team understand that the 2002 version of Resident Evil is already the perfect version of that game. Even if the graphics aren’t photorealistic and the controls have little quirks, it’s the ultimate expression of the survival horror genre and the pinnacle of what the genre was trying to be at that time. Reremaking it would almost be akin to altering the dialect of Shakespeare. Erasure of history.

There was no need to do anything to the RE1 remake because it was already perfect. Best game in the entire franchise.

Agree. It was one of the first games I CC ever played and I loved it. But playing it as a four year old was easy cause I didn’t have and hidden demand to have a visually stunning game. Now I can’t cope with, its mechanics are very outdated.

I disagree. I want to play the game but I can’t deal with fixed cameras and tank controls. That’s extremely dated and I didn’t grow up playing it back when it came so I don’t have nostalgia for it. A modern remake will do wonders for those like me who are dying to experience this game that gets so much praise.

@@MR.__G Well you can still adapt to it. Try using the type D controls and using the d pad to turn jill/chris rather than the analog stick. Not too many people to this day know about that configuration option- it's one of most underrated options in the game. Type D puts walking forward on the x (A on XS) button and walking backwards on circle (B on XS). That way you'll never get mixed up with the camera switching angles. And you tap the walk forward button twice to run. It's great for people who are new to the fixed cam style, but it's also very nice feeling to me as an OG fan of the series.

I think you make a pretty good point about makint a 2nd re1 remake right out the gate. I think re1 should be left as it is. That style of gameplay is huge to the history of the series. So i feel like at least 1 mainline entry upkeeping the fixed camera/tank controls for legacies sake is important. And for gameplay variety of course.

They remaked resident evil 1 3 times on different consoles

I'm tired of remakes I want a new game with a new story who say they can't make story starring jill valentine and Claire Redfield with Rebecca Chambers as well exploring a new bigger grander zombie monster infested mansion that would be awesome.❤

Yeah, i'm tired of seeing and hearing leon's name every time a new resident evil is brought up in a discussion. I've been a fan of this series after watching a guy resident evil before it officially released on ps1, so hearing all these new fans talking like he's the only protagonist that exists in the series is very wrong.

It would be pretty awesome to see an RE1 remake in the same style as the RE2-4 remakes. Maybe eventually… I think Code Veronica would make more sense first, though.

The re1 remake still holds up and is a great "modern" game with the classic style gameplay a lot of people love. Im positive theyre saving the next re1 remake for the next gen. it will have been long enough by then and with the graphical upgrade it will be a huge announcement.

I loved the RE1 remake but when they are satisfied with upcoming remakes they should make a over the shoulder remake for RE1 aswell

I was a fan of the Resident Evil movies (mainly the second movie) when I was a kid, at the time I didn’t even know they were based on games until I was in middle school. I remember the first time I played a Resident Evil game, it was 2017 (summer before Senior year) and my friend lend me his copy of RE4. I told him I’ve never played an RE game and he said RE4 was the best game in the series. So I gave it a try, at first the controls were kinda annoying but once I got used to it, OMG I fell in love with the series. After that I basically when to platinum every RE game. So far I have RE:make 2, RE:make3, RE5, RE6, RE7, and RE8. Right now I’m working on RE:make4, and I’m still debating on playing RE:make and RE0 cause of the fix camera angles. I personally wasn’t a big fan of fix camera angles but I really would like to experience RE1 and RE0 if they ever remake them in a modern style of gameplay

Yeah, fixed cameras aren't for everybody, I suppose. But if it helps, RE1 Remake does give you the option to turn off tank controls.

You can think of the fixed camera angles as pretty similar to OG RE4 in that once you take a little time to get used to them, working with them becomes second nature. You absolutely need to give RE:make 1 a playthrough. It's an outstanding game, and arguably an even better remake than those that came out after it. Still held up as the gold standard for remakes to this day. That being said, stick to the tank controls when playing it. The new controls destroy the balancing and can act a bit weird when switching camera angles.

Because RE1 is a classic survival horror one, the one classic RE game that they didn't want to alter or make an action game out of it. It was already remade and remastered, so

If there a market for it, they would certainly do it. I would go insane if I heard they decided to remake 1 again, they could make it even more cinematic, man these rendering engines keep getting better and better, I would gladly support this.

People clamouring for RE 1 Remake Remake (aka 3rd person shooter remake) don't like the TRUE RE atmosphere. 😮

@OGP2293 I get why people like the remake more. It's a little more towards the action oriented. I don't dislike it at all. So many people prefer the remake over the original, and I get it. It's a great remake. I still love it. It's like I actually like the RE2 remake equally to the original, but I like the original RE3 to the remake, since the remake really dumbed it down. I hate RE4, but adore the remake. Different strokes. I'm just glad people are appreciating resident evil. I just come from the point where I was 13 when OG RE1 came out. I've played A LOT of resident evil. My opinions may differ, but I'm ok with that. Like I said, I'm just glad it's become as appreciated as it deserves. Explore them all. You do you. That's my advise. Just glad it's finally a titan of a franchise, as it deserves it. No hate here friend. I encourage resident evil game exploration and opinion. That what makes a series great.

For example i really love Bioshock finished them all.Soon im gonna start System Shock.As for RE3 I didn’t bought the remake and I refuse to buy it,instead im gonna go play the original cause from my POV it still holds even though I wished RE2/3 got the same treatment that RE1 got in 2002😅.I don’t mind the fixed camera angel or shit like that.As long as it fun im all for it

I remember the announcement of RE2R like it was yesterday. I was really into the original RE2 at the time so the timing of the announcement was surreal to me. I can't believe we've already gotten RE2R, RE3R, RE8 and RE4R remake since then. Time flies and Capcom has been putting in work like crazy.

Because they didn’t. The reason Remake 2 even happened is because Remake 1 was ported to PS3/4/360/1. The insane sales (after the failure of Remake 1 on GameCube/Wii) lead to the “We do it” shirt. However, if Capcom wants to celebrate Re1 again because of fans screaming, a good way to test it would be to add a few “flashback missions” on the upcoming Re5 Remake that Remake 4 teased so hard.

Capcom during an interview a few months ago when questioned about more remakes: "we made THREE remakes so far and they were all well received...." I think the fans are the only ones here that think of the RE1 "Remaster" as a remake, bcs to me CAPCOM was clearly talking about RE2, RE3 and RE4 kinda making it clear that they haven't already remade RE1 and are willing to do it one day, my guess: 2026 probably, since it will be its 30th years anniversary, doubt they will let that pass unnoticed

Re 1 2002 gamecube version is a REMAKE of the 96 game. The 2014 game, was a REMASTER of the 2002 REMAKE. It is and has always been a remake. Really not that hard to understand. You would know if you had played the 96 original and the 2002 remake. Personally, 2002 remake is my favourite RE game. I just want new RE games. Kinda tired of all the remakes. RE9 please and a remaster collection of the old ps1 games made available more easy.

@@TomTom-kq2lr i did play them, RE (1996) was one of the first games i've played in my life, now this argument of "they already made a remake so it doesn't need one" doesn't hold up anymore, especially now that we got RE4 which also didn't needed one neither and nobody ever thought we would get one (i remember someone else's comment in the reddit community years ago saying that they should remake RE4 and ppl laughed at it "capcom would never do it" lol), if they are willing to remake a game like RE4 and even RE5 you can bet they are definitely going to remake the first one (again) aswell.

@@Legion849 EA killed the DS franchise with their huge expectations. They thought it would sell like Resident evil. None of the DS games really did sell that well. And even the DS remake didn't sell that well. And months after the remake, EA asked what fans wanted next...only options were DS 2 remake or DS 3 remake, no DS4. Im also a DS fan, but I waited a long time before I bought DS remake, because its just a remake. I want both DS and RE to continue with new games, not just remakes, because some young people can't play older games. So take that whine comment and shove it!

The fact that noobs are asking for RE1 remake is laughable. The RE 1 remake is what devs wanted it to do in the 1st place. But duo to the tech at the time and deadlines we got what we got. And it was hit of the original which you noobs should be thanking us that we loved the original.

The demand for either Code Veronica or RE5 getting remakes is the strongest for the time being. Code Veronica... because it never got a PC port and most never got to play the game. RE5... because while it was big hit during it's time, many were equally disappointed due to certain things like more QTEs, more action, practically no horror, inconsistent pacing, questionable AI companion, etc... While these complains also applied to original RE4, at least most of the original trilogy + Code Veronica essence still carried over into RE4 unlike RE5. Once remakes for Code Veronica and RE5 are done, expect demands for RE0 and RE1 getting the RE Engine remake treatment to explode next.

Should have been remade in 04 or 05. The Resident Evil 1 remake is the Holy grail of the series. If 2 was made just like the 1 Remake omg!

I get in arguments with these complete morons in the Resident Evil group all the time. The logic is "well it doesn't play like RE2 2019 so it's OBVIOUSLY not a remake not knowing that remake means rebuilt from the ground up regardless of how different it is.

I could see them making a RE1 remake, remake for the series 30th anniversary perhaps.

Considering the RE1 remake is older than the original RE4, which they already remade, I wouldn't mind an RE1 remake remake

I'm sure the next 3 remakes they make will be 5, 1 and Code Veronica. The order they do it in doesn't really matter.

RE1R is so good it def does not need to be remade, however it would be pretty cool to see it in a modern aspect no doubt.

The problem is that they decided to remake RE4 before remaking RE1R, despite the fact that RE1R came out earlier and is in more need of an update.

RE1 was already perfectly remade. Judging by the remakes of 2,3, and 4 there is no room for improvement for Resident Evil 1 other than superficial ones for normies. Via graphics and the switch to over the shoulder.

I'd rather see Resident Evil 9 than another remake. I didn't even think Resident Evil 2 needed a remake. I played the original for the first time in 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed it. They could have just done a Quake-style remaster, buffing out the PS1 jank from the 3D assets and upgrade the backgrounds to make the game closer to what it looked like in our heads. REmake held up by 2016 and game design conventions haven't changed much since, so I don't understand why suddenly now a remake of it is necessary.

RE1 actual remake with RE engine 5 would be incredible. Coming from one who is now playing it for the first time. I believe it could be the best in all the franchise

I read an article which capcom stated that when they released re0 and re1 remaster they were testing ground to see if the remake still can pull people in and still wanted, after successfully selling will capcom decided to remake re2 that and plus the fan's who are wanting the remake

I really hope they remake RE: 1. I started with 7 so that’s basically Resident Evil 1 for me. I learned about all of this along with Ethan, meeting Chris and then it flashes back to the Raccoon city outbreak where we meet Leon, Claire, Jill, and Carlos and start to get explanations to what Umbrella is and the T-virus. Then flash forward and I learn why Chris was with Umbrella, then finally now it flashes back to Leon saving the president’s daughter. It’s honestly not a bad way to get into the franchise.

I can see them doing it simply because it does a great job of setting up the Chris and Wesler rivalry in Resident evil 5. For the new fans, they don’t even know who Chris is if they’ve only followed the remakes and the new games. I mean they know his modern appearances. But not his origins. They may not even know of his boulder punching legacy from 5. A lot of people have only played Resident evil 7 and the games that came out afterwards.

I love REmake, but I would also love a new REmake in the new RE engine. RE3R was disappointing, but seeing the new hunters really got me hyped thinking about how a new RE1 would be.

Because RE1 remake already exists and already is the best it can be, especially on PC with HD textures.

Playing the PS4 Remastered RE1 remake still look pretty damn good on the PS5. Also it show how RE was originally in the fixed camera style. A true legendary classic of RE the way it was instead of the modern style. I remember playing RE1 on release day for the PlayStation One. I played all 3 versions of RE1 on PlayStation One to GameCube to PlayStation 4/5.. With all 3 versions , I beaten it about 25 times. If they do a remake on a remake of RE1 (A double remake)I would probably reach over 30 times of beating the same game. Had there been a Double remake before? Or would RE1 make history as the first double remake in gaming history?

They didn't. The made it in 2014, only budget was much lower than for newer ones, as they didn't know back then how successful it's goning to be

I think when they remade re2 Capcom didn't think that it would never connect with the remake of re1 that came out in 2002 because when you play 0 you end up in that part of the lab sequence from the original re2 so naturally I think remaking 1 then code Veronica would make more sense in this timeline because of re4 remake with wesker making his appearance so they need to build up that arc that concludes in a re5 remake but then again re6 doesn't connect with 7 so really I think remaking all the ones that came out before the late PS4 and Xbox One era so the storyline is completely accurate chronologically

Thanks! And don't worry, Resident Evil is one of my all time favorite franchises, so I'm definitely never going to stop talking about it. But I also don't want to give off the impression that this is a "Resident Evil channel". Really, it's more of a "I talk about whatever happens to be on my mind, and also occasional animations channel".

Honestly though the moment they considered remaking 2 in the third person style, RE1 should've been put back on the table. Capcom should also port 2&3 to current and last gen just for those original fans but 1, CV, 5 & 6 should get that remake treatment in the current style.

‘Cause it wasn’t necessary. The Remake train started because of the success that RE1 Remake Remaster had. The only mistake Capcom made was remaking RE2 as a self contained story instead of actually making the sequel that it is.
