The reality of a down syndrome 3 month old

My son oran has overcome obstacle that most doctors said he wouldn't even surpass, if you are ever a doubtful mom to be please second guess, these babies are given to you for a reason and they are the best thing that can happen to you, they make you realize that were all the same but just have a touch of uniqueness

My husband grew up living with a downs family member. She was absolutely a precious gift from God. She was pleasant and a joy. The whole family loved her and enjoyed her presence. She was a miracle child. They were told she would not live to be 12. She did. Then they said she would pass by age 21. She lived to be 61 years and 8 months. She had no health problems for 61 years. She loved her family and she loved Christ more than anything. She prayed every day at least twice a day and she prayed the sweetest prayers. She was an earthly angel. God blessed you with that child. He will outgrow the bulk of health problems. He won't be a burden to your family. Embrace his quirks and enjoy him because God blessed you with him. He's the one son who will never leave you. The others might grow up and move across country and never visit, but this one is all yours and will stay with you. God bless him and your family and remember you're special because God picked you to be his mother. Special children have special mothers.

Thank you for that 😊 our little man is 3 now and although it is stressful we still wouldn't imagine our lives without him all he does is smile and get you to laugh in any way the only mean bone in his body is when his little sister comes around. He still doesn't understand that she's 1 so she needs a bit more attention so he'll swat her away and kick at her and she just stops and gives him a look like she's about to attack him 😂. they keep telling me "you do realize that he most likely will pass away?" And I always respond "well if that's the case we'll keep taking god little miracles until he feels like stopping and hopefully that's not anytime soon"

@@gabriellelee9358 In regards to people saying he might pass away: Yes, all of us are going to pass away, but in the case of our family member "Mack" was her nickname, God made no mistakes. They do pass earlier, but Mack didn't out live her Mother long. I think God works it out like that so the child isn't left behind after the parents pass with nobody to care for them. It's likely y'all will pass around the same time, and if he passes before you please take comfort in knowing you were able to care for him his whole life and he never had to live without you. May God bless him, you, your husband, and all of your children with a long, happy, and healthy life. If no one has told you lately, I am proud of you and your family. I think you're great and I admire that you and your husband make decisions based on your Faith. Keep up the good work and keep putting Christ first. Don't ever worry...just pray and everything will turn out to be a blessing. Don't let people get in your head too much. People can really be mindless and hurtful. Sometimes intentional and sometimes they don't realize it. Sometimes you just have to love people from a distance and pray for them. God bless you and your family.

My 20-year-old nephew has Down syndrome. He had no other problems except for a diabetes dx at 4 years old. He reads at a fourth-grade level and can count change. He has a wonderful sense of humor and does things around the house to help out. His 4 older siblings all have agreed to take him in the event he has to go it alone. He always comes out and offers his arm when I drive up. He is just a kid at heart. He brings so much joy to the family.

I agree there's nothing wrong with Oran, he's just a crazy little 3 year old, he's still slightly nonverbal that's solely because of his tongue he does have some issues with eating but that is because he has had three open heart surgeries and has been sedated for months on end because of those I can't believe one of these comments stated that he was being used as a toy I swear some people can be so ignorant but I can promise you he does not let his vocabulary stop him and loves to play with his brothers and Little sister and every single person that he meets falls in love with him solely because he loves to get love as well as get it I hope all the best for your nephew and that he continues to bless the world with his presence 😊

But judging right from wrong isn't the problem; personally participating in that which you know to be wrong is the problem and it is sin. We are to reprove the world of sin. We can't do so though if out own testimony is no different than the wolrd. We are called to be separate as God is: Holy. What a handsome boy!! I can see he is VERY much loved, he’s so sweet. I have a friend and her family had a foster brother that was a Downs baby (he was 3 yrs old at the time and we were 17) I’m ashamed to say this but I had never been around any Down’s syndrome people and I was a little afraid of him. When I finally met him, he and I became INSTANT buddies. When I would go over to my friends house he would get so excited and was glued to my hip. Before I would leave to go home I’d ask him for a kiss and hug, after a couple days he realized when I asked him for the love I was going to leave. After that he would refuse to give me any hugs or kisses when it was time for me to go, I’m sure he thought if he didn’t kiss and hug me I couldn’t leave. That’s been over 40 yrs ago and I think of him so often. ❤❤❤ He was my favorite little buddy 😢

As someone who has a son with high functioning autism, first of good on you for your positivity. Secondly, with a lot of time and work, our special needs babies can go far in their advancement and development. It takes a lot of dedication and work by each member of the family. A success story here: My son is 27 years old, graduated high school with honors, earned a black belt in krav, earned his Eagle Scout and earned a bachelor degree in business and now works at Walmart all with autism. There were MANY along the way who wanted to judge me for being my Son's #1 advocate and fighting for his rights and fighting for his reputation against haters. There were tears, anxiety and exhausting times but with determination on my and my family's part, as well as determination on my Son's part, his success story happened. HANG IN THERE!!

Oh, i had the good fortune of working with Downs kids and young adults when I was in college, and they made going to work a joy. I’m sorry he has the other health issues, but he is one of those I consider to be the angels who walk among us. He is so precious. ❤

🙏 Make every child a wanted child is all we ask. You wanted him (and can afford to care for him independently without society's help) then you got him, congrats! Glad no one forced their ideas on you, your body, or life!

Wow he is so forward for three months old and so happy and content. Talking to Mummy and telling her stories. It is such a shame that he has a scar and tube. My grandson of a twin had hernia twice and his first operation was at approximately 2 months old and the next one at 4 months, he is brilliant now. The other twin little girl was losing her eye sight and was very close to it going permanently. Because they were born at 28 weeks they are still checked by the hospital regularly, they are over 2 years old now. You are such a wonderful mummy and to not take the other option and kept him isn't an easy decision. I hope that you have a lovely life with him. Congratulations! ❤🎉😊

He’s so sweet and pure! I couldn’t help but notice he has a heart shape on his ear! Almost as if God designed his little ear to say- listen to my heart! My niece just graduated college with emphasis on special education- she loves downs kids! She did her high school senior project mentoring these kids and heading up a group to participate in the Special Olympics. I also did volunteer work in my hometown school district and was assigned a student in the class - and I’m telling you now- these kids are so loving and kind! They are happy souls, sent to earth to help us be better humans! God bless your little one! You are the perfect momma for him❤

I had a brother who had down syndrome. He had a hole in the middle of the 4 chambers of his heart. He was a blessing to our family. He was the 5th of 9 children. Unfortunately, surgery was not possible for him, and he passed away at age 4. If he had been born in a later year, he would have been able to have lifesaving surgery. We were very blessed to have him as long as we did. When he was born, the doctors said he would not survive even 4 months. They said he'd never sit up, or do anything. He proved them wrong every year. He was walking before he died. He talked too. Not like a 4 year old, but we knew what he wanted. I miss him, even though he's been gone many years. I was 8 when he passed. Your little guy's going to go far.

Please give him a huge hug and kisses from me. Such a precious innocent special soul. You were in such a tough spot but chose to give him life. Honestly, if I could have children and the doctor told me it would be a special needs I think i too would keep the baby. Especially since I was told told I cant have children. It would probably take a humongous stress toll out on my body. But in reality since my mom passed in 2003 my life has been straight up stress { also lost dad while I was in basic training in 2010 } . The baby didnt choose to need extra care , they are just an innocent result on a choice we took . Thank you for loving him and being so wonderful
