The Real Woman Behind Rita Hayworth (Her Tragic Secret)

Ойын-сауық

Did you know that Rita Hayworth considered Citizen Kane filmmaker Orson Welles to be the love of her life and that she was forced into dancing by her abusive father when she was just a teenager? Rita Hayworth may have been one of the most celebrated sex symbols of Hollywood’s Golden Age, but she lived a life of tragedy and confusion. Her father forced the star into show business when she was just a teenager. While other kids were out playing, Rita was practicing dance routines with her father. During her marriage to her second husband, Orson Welles, Rita would confess that her father sexually abused her.

Rita was married five times throughout her life but considered second husband Orson Welles to be the love of her life. Orson and Rita were friends up until the time of the latter’s death, but they couldn’t make their marriage work due to Rita's dependency issues and Orson's infidelity. Rita's first husband was a car salesman named Ed Junson, whom she married when she was only 18. Ed was twice her age and looked at her as a paycheck.
It was at Ed’s request that Rita ventured into show business. Ed wanted to capitalize on his new wife's good looks to make a quick buck, and his endeavor proved successful. It was through Ed that Rita became involved with Columbia Pictures studio head Harry Cohn. Though Rita would divorce Ed in 1942, she would remain professionally trapped inside Harry Cohn's world until the 1960s.
Rita suffered from alcoholism throughout her life and died from Alzheimer's disease. Though she remarried three times after their divorce, she died claiming Orson Welles was her true love. Join Facts Verse as we explore the real woman behind Rita Hayworth (her tragic secret).

Sick also read her poor Mom succumbed to alcohol abuse and wasn't there emotionally to really help her
