Be careful while walking with your camera like that in South Africa. You can be attacked or robbed any time and by anyone. Don't be too relax and talk to everyone in town. Those ones you are talking to, are the ones that will rob you. I am scared on your place, the way you are so relax and talk to anyone like that. Bruh South Africa or Johannesburg is a place whrere you can be gunned and loose all your belongings so next time, please don't move in the streets like that. Be guided by people that you know very well. EVen if you are big with muscles, slender gunmen can point you guns and take everything from you. I lived in South for more than 12 years and now living in the US in Muncie Indiana, so I know very well this country how people are being robbed and killed. It's a beautiful country but some useless people are making that country very dangerous. Don't don't be too relaxed while walking and talking to everyone in the South African Streets. Those street guys who are pretending assisting you, are the ones that will rob you. Be careful I repeat. If you don't trust me, and continue doing what you're doing, one day you will remember my writting here. This is not to scare you but to let you know about how you should behave in South African streets. Joe Mbuya

But I believe one day things will change for the better or new places will be built, like Sandton and many other nicer places being built as we speak. I believe every country has gone through this dark page, even the European and American countries, Germany for example once went through dark days but it came back stronger 💪 Look at Dubai, a dessert channeled to what it is today,so as many other countries. My own observation though 🙂

Believe me living on the outside of a beautiful place doesn’t compare to the experience of living on the inside even if the inside is far from perfect. Let’s be honest the reasons for Durban’s less than stellar appearance are not simply the ANC or Black people the concentration of wealth in the hands of the white people who stole it has quite a bit to do with it.

I went to Durban on holiday in 1989 and stayed in a basic but clean apartment on Marine Parade, on the seafront. I have to say I feel dismay at watching this video and seeing how the place has changed and become essentially a broken, Third World city where its inhabitants eke out a living as street vendors selling the same junk to each other. And it offers a grim insight into what major cities in Britain (my country) may look like in a few years' time when the dwindling white populations (already a minority in London, Birmingham and Manchester) have packed up and left. We're ordered to celebrate the diversity that none of us voted for but there doesn't seem much to be cheerful about.

Hi🤝 Not so sure about the *very poor* Phrase ,what I know some of these people selling here are taking their kids to universities with this money they make here, some have great homes where they come from. It's business and they make a good living from it. Fruit and veg markets have high profits compared to grocery shops. They drive these people, never underate them if I were u. Yes some of them are less privileged and get less but they won't go to bed with empty stomachs. Africa is designed this way though I believe some improvements must be done. About trash it's what needs to be seriously attended to. Given the attention its a minor problem to solve. My own observation though.🙂

You must be talking about the ghettos and skid rows. Remember this is the downtown of the third largest city in South Africa. The downtown of any big city in America is better than this current Durban. I left Durban in 2004 after leaving there for 10 years. The Umhlanga Rocks taxis he's looking used to be near ML Sultan Technikon and the fire dept by the market. It's now way too dirty. I know every single place in this video. I never expected Durban to degrade up this level. They even changed the street names1

@@YeeLeeHaw If you are going to trash an American city you should probably try and be factual and make it a southern city. Places like Chicago and Detroit have much less crime and infrastructure degradation than many southern cities most of which have higher crime rates than the rest of America. I also don’t know if I’d use an American small southern town as a barometer of peaceful existence I mean there’s a reason those places are dying and it’s not because they are such wonderful places to live.
