Great vid :) I'm looking to get into Soulstorm multiplayer (as Space Marines) after some campaign. Maybe you could do, or recommend, a good beginner's MP tutorial with stuff like mechanics, unit composition, hotkeys, etc. BTW - audio quite low for the vid. Cheers

I would recommend Jagus ART and his youtube guides, he has a bunch of beginner guides and he also got some pretty good buildorder videos. I might also make a basic SM-guide at some point! Also "Dawn of War - Soulstorm UK" - Discord server is pretty good for asking really good players for advice, people are very helpfull over there. Otherwise watching some replays here and there of really good players are also very helpfull Hope it was helpfull. Always nice that people want to pick up the game 🙂

Someone said something a while ago to me about how videos really come down to passion and genuine love for something, and that matters way more than perfect editing and video quality. Basically, doesn’t matter if this is your first vid, it’s obvious you love the game, so ramble away anytime!

Great vid. Really good points. I think you said you'd do another video showing what chaos can do Vs gen first space marine build order aka how to effectively harass with raptors Vs commander. I'd love to see that!

I am so excited to see Dawn of War multiplayer popping up for me. I used to grind infiltrated webgate "drops" on eldar back in the day. Hoping to get back into multplayer as an adult.

So I personally dont use the servers too much, but the servers that are quite popular for info and finding games are: -The Mr Landshark server (The biggest KZreadr for DowSS, he's also from the UK) -Dawn of War - Soulstorm UK (All the good english speaking players are om that server) -Dow Stats (more for Russians I believe)

Your explanation sounds reasonable. Here is a fun story about this buld. I just started playing DoW1 for fun after having lots of experience with WC3/SC2/Stormgate. I obviously found Jagus SM guide pretty fast and started to follow it. However, I somehow forgot about early Generator and played without all this time. Idk how did this happen, but it seemed pretty normal for me to get some scouts sm fc servitors and lp going, and only then add a few gens and start teching/doing armory upgrades and etc. I guess I randomly played right build all along lol.

Ey me too man, I also use to play WC3 and SC2 a bunch! Your story is interesting, cause both WC3 and SC2 (don't know Stormgate well) are very much about early eco focus, and not getting early eco is kinda trolling. So if you're used to playing those games, it would be intuitive to think that the same applies to DoW SS, and even tho it does, it's at a differant pace. Also I feel like early harass, and rushes are just more relavant in Dow SS, and is micro intense from the start, where as SC and WC are way more macro early, but that's just my general sense. Maybe your game intuition is just to good bro!

As a beginner, this explains a lot. The build order with barrack > generator is presented by most youtuber's, there are many variations to it, but still there is always a generator being constructed as the second building. And from a perspective of a newbie, this looks like the only way to go (experience gained by years of people playing dow). I've done around 10 - 1vs1, and never ever had a chance to even put a real fight (maybe one time when I played vs a Necron and the map was not as small as Fata Morgana or Blood River). So I was wondering how is it possible that while I am rolling just an FC, the enemy got a squad of, as an example, fire warriors and TC with Stealth suits backdooring my builders. Thank you so much for opening my eyes to this.

Thank you brother That comment made my day. Honestly 99% of the reason why I made that video, was to help newbie players. I love the fact that the multiplayer is growing and new players come to the game, but since the content and guides online kinda lack a bit, a lot of new players get's lost in all the noise, and quits the game all together, being discourged by the fact that they keep losing and can't tell why. But even the genarator has a place as an opening and even the standard buildorder will not work all the time and it depends on the map and matchup (that you also indicate), my mission was to make sure that if people only chose 1 buildorder, it has to be THIS buildorder that I am showing, making their results more consistent online Thanks for that comment mah dude!

@@Duzzyminister I tested the build order you recommended : 100% profit. Now i just need to catch up with the quantity of troops i need to withstand a rush, so i can start teching. Really hard to survive dark eldar ._. Now i can withstand almost every time the start, if the player is new i am able to even restrict and decap him properlly. If the player is good i lose anyway because he micro's me and techs faster.

Heya! im a new player (played this game as a kid but never multiplayer) yet im consider pretty good at the game (above average) and i can tell, withing my lack of experience and from his videos, that Jagus really likes going for fast tier 2. In practice you will almost never see a 3:30 t2, due to early skirmishes loosing models or high enemy pressure. Can't say nothing about the build, im still learning myself (chaos, ig and ork player). Anyways good video very polite and well explained. Hope you have a great year.

I am as of now making a video about the Eldar vs Space Marine matchup, there I will talk a bunch about Eldar, but from an SM perspective. I might make an Eldar guide video, but I am way less competent on that race, but in the future I could for sure talk about them. Thanks for the request tho
