Absolutely the best explanation and demonstration of wrist movement and hand path. After years of trying to incorporate what Mike Malaska was alway preaching, “club head out, hands in”. I could never get it. Now thanks to you and especially Lee’s demonstrations, I think I’m finally getting it! I’m 65 and feel like a kid waking up Christmas morning and seeing the Lionel train going around the track under the tree…

Brendon, thanks for posting these! Evidently, you and I have very similar issues, with pull hooks or pushes. In implementing these new changes, one way I’ve found to get my hands hard to the left is standing just a smidge farther from the ball. I used to really crowd it. Hope that helps! Keep swinging!

I think where Lee got that move was not from putting, but from Tommy Tomasello. There is a teriffic video from lynblake golf about Tommy responding to Lee regarding the golf swing. I think it's from 2011. In it Tommy clearly calls it a "tomahawk chop" and describes the action in detail. Tommy was a great instructor and deserves recognition for this move. Watch closely and pay attention...it works.

@@Samantha-cw1ci Thanks for that. I have viewed a number of Cooper’s videos and imo does demonstrate aspects of that swing a little better than Tommy did. He’s a little eccentric, but it’s nice to know he’s carrying on Tommy’s philosophy. You have to braindump everything you’ve learned prior, before learning this swing. But once you get it, it’s powerful and very repeatable. Not a lot of swing thoughts and easy on the body😎

This video was helpful. I am using Doctor Kwon swing instructions, but adding this piece at 8:15 and 9:27 was a great addition. On the latter part of the downswing before impact, when the hand path moves left due to the centrifugal force of the body, the clubhead and shaft kicks away from the body similar to the illustration of a ski-boat making a left turn and the skier on the back makes a larger turn with more speed gained. It squares the clubhead better, increases speed, and results in better ball striking. That's what it feels like to me.

Have you ever studied the swing of trick shot artist Harry Frankenburg, aka ‘Count Yogi’? It is different in concept than the conventional swing in how the club force is allowed to pull the radial deviation lag out of the hands in the downswing all the way to the point they lock and force the hands to turn over. That happens in the finish extension in the conventional “sweeping swing” but he figured out how to do it at the point of impact with the ball resulting in maximum acceleration of club head around hands BEFORE impact (not after as in the conventional swing) with the locking of the wrists just as the grip turned face back square to target (as aligned at address by putting body in impact posture to line up) resulting in consistently straight shots. The bio-mechanics are very similar to swinging a heavy axe down to cut a V in a horizontal log, with the wrist action down to fully-locked unlar deviation being very much like the wrist action when hammering a nail or cracking a bull whip. Frankenberg might have discovered how to do it by doing trick shots using a club head attached to a leather whip to hit golf shots, something I remember watching on TV as kid in the 1960s. I rediscovered him around 2010 reading George Peper’s bool “The Secret of Golf” just after retooling my swing with Hogan’s Five Lesson. I didn’t copy his grip, just the way he let the club whip down and lock up the wrists just as the open face of the club picked up the ball and released it. I recognized the wrist action as being similar to what Hogan did when “waggling” the club in his pre-shot routine and then watching videos of Hogan’s swing frame-by-frame realized that waggle was a rehearsal for how he brought the club into the ball from the inside with his arm-tucked, side-bent swing style. CY locked his wrist by letting the club force pull the trail hand straight down into ulnar deviation at the same time maxing out extension in the lead hand (very unconventional). In the videos of Hogan I see then same ulnar deviation of the trail hand but with the lead hand locked by twisting it under into maxed out flexion and supination. Moe Norman, also with an unorthodox grip, appears to have the same maxing out action at impact. What to all three have in common? Legendary for hitting consistently straight shots.

Dr. Kwon says “Draw a sword” from the TB. This one thought gives me what I need to get the handle moving around the widest arc and sets my wrists for releasing the club. Because I don’t want to cut the sheath that holds the sword 🗡 The hands will move while wrists maintain cocked position until DS phase moves past parallel in the ED to BI then recoils MF to LF but this happens naturally by drawing the sword from the sheath at the top of backswing and releasing the club head just past parallel through BI.

@@ldeitrick That is correct. Also throwing the club head at the ball in order to create the right hand angle is a Croker trademark. I am sure he picked up a lot of his swing thoughts from teachers before him and they teachers before them.

"lag," for lack of a better term, is simply the differentiation between the movement of the hips and legs (lower body) and the movement of the torso (upper body). everything else is nonsense. the lower body moves toward the target line first and the upper body lags behind it. this is what is meant by "lag." few people seem to understand it and even fewer are able to explain it ... and by "few" I mean, NONE. I don't understand why people feel the necessity to teach something that they themselves fail to comprehend. the inclination obviously has something to do with a defective or overcontrolling ego.

BBG is one smart dude. Start a KZread channel and get free lessons and social media money. Bro, stop with all these lessons. Start doing vlogs. Your game is good enough. Start competing with other youtubers, throw in the occasional insight. Can't take another lesson. Eric Cogorno is the same. How many times you going to post, "do this magic move", or "bomb it like Monte"?
