It's a slow-burning thriller paying homage to 70's classic's like 'day of the jackal' but with Fincher's eye for meticulous technical prowess. And humour. Requires a second or third viewing. Fassbender is excellent as the cold-blooded man from Kerry. A must watch!

The Killer went on this revenge rampage just to prove to himself that he is an expert and a true professional . Dedication to his craft. Clayborne’s death would have caused a major manhunt and disrupt his life with his girlfriend. So he let him go…

False. This movie is based on French comic book. The reason why he didn't kill Claybourne is because the man was completely oblivious to what went on after the botched assassination and basically agreed to the conduit/lawyer's suggestions of "scrubbing" the trace. Claybourne didn't know that actually meant killing the killer and any witnesses. He was new to this type of the world, and technically, he got fked over as well, since he wasted millions due to the killer failing to kill his target and got further hustled by the lawyer to pay more for "cleaning the trace" which it's not even his fault to begin with.

It’s not unpredictable plot wise but it reminds me of the first Bourne movies and feels like you’re shadowing a real contract killer the whole time. The main characters narration is a unique touch, even in the normal everyday moments when he’s constantly looking over shoulder. The films pace has a constant tension, with certain moments where it escalates rapidly into venomous action, yet the action never feels overdone and instead feels hyper realistic. Great performances from fassbender and swinton, some of their best. Fincher creates his signature atmosphere throughout, similar to what he did in the Game.

This movie is perfectly fine. It is so perfectly fine, that I can´t think of a single explicit point of criticism at all. However, i can´t think of anything that made it particularly great either. It is too clean. Meanwhile that is the point of the movie. It is about a man whose entire life revolves around minimizing errors, being in control, and following a set of internalized rules without emotions ever coming in the way. And it is an interesting idea to see a hitman treating the profession of violently murdering people as just another repetitive 9 to 5 job, that you just have to get through day after day. But when it comes to telling a compelling story, that is a bit of a problem. Because what generally makes movies stand out - even thrillers like these - is the ability to get people emotionally invested, to have them feel with the characters. This is explicitly not, what is happening here. There is not a single emotion in this movie. It is kind of about revenge but not really. You are just watching a man go through his perfected way of getting his job done and this job just so happens to be killing people who show varying degrees of innocence. We don´t even know anyone´s name. There is however one amazing fight scene that has one of the best choreographies that I have seen in Hollywood in a long time and which had me at the edge of my seat for at least five minutes. Irnoically, this is also the only scene where the character decides to not follow his set of rules and ignores the fact that he might be a little bit too emotional to perfectly execute his task. And it is the most gripping scene of the movie. Maybe that means something...

It's one of those newer movies using different cinematic and stylistic technique i.e. the protagonist narrates the movie. For a taught, kick back movie it's as good as any others out there..better, more intelligent actually.

The Killers is an experimental addition to one of the most impressive and iconic filmographies of all time, that will be studied by filmmakers for generations to come - David Fincher's. I personally find a lot of parallels between him and Wes Anderson - 2 extreme perfectionists with the most narrowest yet concrete vision of what they want to potray on the silver screen. Every scene, every cut, every dialogue, every shot blocking, every musical and lighting cue has been directed to utter precision, as they serve their own miniscule roles and combine in harmony to form these gigantic orchestral presentations. Despite its flaws, this film emerges as an extraordinary piece of art, reflecting an unparalleled commitment to perfectionism.

I think that The Killer miss th target purposely , because he wanted to see th consequences of that and how people involved in this job are going to react to his failed Job. This is pertaining to the Grizzly Bear Story told by The Expert., since the hunter dose not come to hunt bear , third time . He spares the rich businessman, because he gets what he wants a Honest wife Millions of Dollars and a great life . Killing him would make no purpose

Fassbender is sleek, quick, perfect for the role. Not a better selection out there. Life like in the experience because as we all know, not everything goes as planned. Actually orders items that are in fact available on Amazon. You can't make a predator like this "fit in" any better than this movie has managed. The thing is, the film is so seamless they had to mark it by chapters. Were it to be a real life event(s)? Tell me they didn't nail it. I would have made his girlfriend the contract holder on his life at the end. Note**another review here says he poisoned the girl at the end. I went back and FF through the entire film to rewatch that portion...there's no way I missed it, and I would be correct. Some haven't seen an espresso machine? Twist of lemon?

I loved the first ten minutes. It looked really cool. It felt original. It had a lot of potential. The entire movie wasn't actually that bad but then during the last ten minutes I realized I didnt really like the movie at all. There wasn't much about it that made sense or made me like it. I feel like it had tons of potential. The actors did well. The lighting was perfect. Every shot looked amazing. But something about the storyline didn't work for me. I didn't feel it. It seemed to me like they wanted to make some kind of combination of Jason Bourne and American Psycho. But it fell way short of either. I can see how people might like this. There parts I liked. But overall something seemed missing. I won't watch it again.

I think it comes from this unsettling conflict where the killer has all these rules and is meticulous, yet he botches a job, breaks his rules and is a bit of a contradiction. You'd expect a movie to portray a James Bond or Jason Bourne type that is slick and untouchable, but instead he comes across more realistic and imperfect, yet still a professional.

I usually love these sorts of films but this was seriously lacking. Whilst the suspense and realistic killings were great it left me wanting more then just this aspect. It was incredibly linear and predictable with no interesting character interactions or dialogue leading to a visually striking film without any real substance. I think watching the film on mute would have given me the same experience.... Far to many shots of Fassbender sat in a car wearing a bucket hat and sunglasses as his 'disguise'. No real civilian interactions during any of the killings which seemed incredibly unrealistic. The Floridan professional was double his size and had the jump on him and still managed to lose, unrealistic. Considering this comes from such an esteemed director ( Seven and Gone Girl) you would expect all the slickness and great lighting but the story and monologues really let this film down. Its predictable and emotionless and I would honestly save your time and watch something else.

Tries very hard to be dark and moody but misses its mark. Decent cast, decent soundtrack; some decent scenes but ultimately, a long way from convincing. Will likely be popular amongst Joe Rogan fans and very little else. Arguably, the most important part of an assassin’s job is to navigate inconspicuously without being easily identified as an assassin. Unfortunately, in every scene in this disaster, Michael Fassbender, as assassin protagonist, looks like a grown man pretending to be an assassin - with his stupid bucket hat and other predictable costumes. Good for a laugh however not a comedy.
