All the stupid comments saying it's because of Lyme and you had to pin it lol the people saying she has depresion are the silliest to me

I saw Avril on tour in November 2004 in Cleveland then again in July 2005 in Detroit... same album cycle. The first line of my journal entry after the 2005 show reads, "IT WAS LIKE A DIFFERENT GIRL ON STAGE TONIGHT. her vocals were way bigger and more powerful and she was super feminine all of a sudden, when 7 months prior she was still very much a tomboy. the kicker for me though is that in 2004 show she played guitar on nearly every song, seeming very comfortable with it. in the 2005 show she barely touched it and to this day only plays on a couple songs in her concerts... i love this girl and her music and consider myself one of her biggest fans. but i wrote that journal entry years before the conspiracy theory hit, makes me feel very weird about the whole thing...

Avril released the song “why” on the 20th anniversary album, but the vocals are different from the acoustic version. I think this version was recorded in 2001/2002 and the acoustic was recorded in late 2003, because the vocals are similar to the “under my skin” era. I believe that the album 20 years of “under my skin” will bring surprises too, as there are several unreleased songs from this era, I even think that the fact that there are so many unreleased songs has to do with the arrival of Melissa

Melissa doesn't even exist and never existed. People grow up. You know, the voice changes from 2001 to 2004 also, in her live in 2003 sounds just like the one in 2004. She just grew up and dyed her hair blonde.

The "Why" previously released on Complicated CD single and My World EP is the original raw demo sent to LA Reid, when she went to NYC for the first time and wrote some songs with Clif Magness (2000). She said it a couple of times at some interviews :) The Why version included on Let Go 20th anniversary edition was also recorded before the album was released.

My opinion is that Avril Lavigne is alive but she also works with a double who is younger than her obviously. I do work for myself btw. 🤘💙

She is the same person

I keep hearing this revive more and more. First, they thought she died. But, she actually was diagnosed ill in life at a very young age with the awful lyme disease. I used to know a girl when I was in hs that was a friend of mine. She had a sister that used to be mistaken for each other all the time. Almost identical looking, close in age, not twins. The sister was tone, my friend became thicker after spinal taps. Her sister was able to switch and cover for her. The sounded similar, but not the same. Most knew she had lymes disease, but never knew it was her sister. They did this and both graduated college by choosing different majors, but said verbally only that it was a switch. Most who knew them saw the aging from medical treatment taking course, so it had to stop. They reached all the way to their late 30s while helping each other out! It was scary, but amazingly loyal. No one actually ended up knowing that she had a sister. She just said only child to be safe. Avril lavigne could have a lesser known sibling that can sing too and they'd both play instruments. Sing similar. But, allowing it too, like my friend was, in jobs where people only needed one in appearance if the other (real one) was to sick to go to work. My friend registered home address under the real name. It was true. But, working a job always needed to be same industry (with a friend that approved this) when the sisters covered for each other during their switch. It was luckily successful. Avril lavigne said in late 2000s she felt she would die and she couldn't wake up w/o pain (in some random interview). I think Avril Lavigne has a very good sister or family member helping her out. That's a good thing to help someone in that cut throat industry. Especially, if they are able to bring same profit in for each other with the real Artists name, in her absence for medical treatment. It's better to be caught than lose ones life. It's something I kept quiet about to help my friend as well. Until they aged differently once finally getting older with gray hair like people get :)

I don't think they are related. They were probably in school then; they had friends as children. these friends would have long ago told the whole world that yes, Avril has a twin sister. but I haven't heard anything like that.

Another Stupid Theory Same Avril Just different makeup, lighting, hair style, fashion, dress make her different. Nothing else Check some of her live performances. She can talk & sing with both deep & high vocal. Her current Bite Me Tour & Black Star Tour is the proof. It seems like she has some allergic issues. That's why it affects her voice, nose & sometimes her voice sounds nasal & high naturally. When she takes break she gains a little weight. But doing proper diet & exercise she can control it. 2007,2009,2010,2011 was her most skinny era She gains little weight in 2008 Attitude depends on mood. I can relate cause basically I'm a shy person but sometimes I get enough charm to express myself & act like a super extrovert person Don't make simple things so complicated. But it’s good that at least you've something to gossip & to make yourself busy.

Alexandra, you should investigate more about Melissa's lyrics. There you can find the truth. The meaning of "never growing up" and "forever teenager" means something, basically they show us real Avril stayed teenager because she could not age cuz of her death! Avril already mentioned that she used a double in the Video (maybe cause the differences between the persons were too easily to see?). Its not so hard to discover the real av. Real av has a point on her nose, a deeper rock voice, very strong hair. Melissa has a higher voice, thin hair. After the illness her face was a little bit bloated. You can See her in a TV Interview where she spoke about her lyme disease (good morning America i think). There you can see the double and i think it proves that she was the one who was ill.

I hope she is alive. I also believed her death, because 2003 she had a so much depression time. She looked so sad, tired,... I noticed the strange change at the first "under my skin" songs, but i let this mind gone, that an other person could be act as Avril. I was to young. I never heard at this time about doubles or Conspircy Theories. And than, 1 month ago, I saw here on KZread a development video. At the song WHY in 2000 was a star behind the year. 2000* ... usually a sign for death-years.
