I rode the original scary pre-stitch version as a kid and remember being absolutely TRAUMATIZED. It was awesome. Would have loved to ride it now as an adult

Now it's just a weird memory lol. I was thinking about the alien encounter ride the other day. It was really cool imo. I agree it was scary as fuck, but it was fun.

This was actually one of my favorite rides when I was little. Still sad they got rid of the ride

I wish there was still a stitch ride that exisitied in the us, kinda sad we haven’t got anything for him recently even though he’s almost as popular as Mickey himself

I'm going to tell you guys more about this ride for those who want to learn more. In 2016, 2 years prior to the permanent closure of Stitch's Great Escape, the attraction became a seasonal attraction. Only opening during Disney World's busy days. Also, after the attraction permanently closed, everything from the building, including the Stitch animatronic, were dismantled. And 2020 was when Disney officially announced the rides' permanent closure.

Sad, I remember enjoying it, it doesn’t deserve all the hate.

I remember going to that attraction when I was little and I don't know why but I got super scared and cried when the attraction was done I told my mom that I wanted to go to the castle to beat Stitch up because I was scared 😅😂

i loved it and i was super sad when i saw it closed. i asked the staff and thye said it was broken. but when i returned a year later it was still closed and the staff said it was being remoddeled. i asked if it would still be stitch and they shrugged and said they didnt know personally. very sad

I never went on it, I never even knew or heard about it either till now, what’s even more crazy is that I’ve been to the park a few times in the past, the first time being in 2005 after fully recovering from brain tumor surgery, and, the last, was probably back in 2013/15 when they did the parade at night with the lights, I forgot what it’s called.

My whole family thinks I’m the reason it closed 💀 Story time: So basically I was about 4 or 5 and I never really liked stitch but my sister did so we went to see if for her. When we went it we were some of the last people to come in so we were in the back of the theatre higher up because how the theatre is made. And I was kind of scared being a little kid who didn’t like stitch. But the thing that made it worse was when stitch spits at the one part he spit, apparently smt malfunctioned so he did it a tiny bit lower but that tiny bit go in my 4yr selfs eye 💀💀💀 I brushed out crying apparently and one cast member saw it or just came over not sure but they came over and were like “omg we are so sorry it was a malfunction!” Then once the show was over they gave me free fast passes and cookies for the whole day 😁 but then a week later the ride was closing 💀 so yes, my whole family thinks I got the ride closed 💀 I mean I was fine I was all happy after I got about 3 cookies. 😂

You should tell them the real reason it closed,if they don’t believe it,idk what to do then.

I remember the promo for the ride and the movie. In my opinion, Lilo & Stitch to this day had the best media and park marketing. I remember a lot of people complaining about the scents that were boosted in the air during the attraction, but I enjoyed it. I think there was an apple pie scent and a stinky/fart scent. I thought it was hilarious!

I love Lilo and Stitch! I would call it one of my favorite movies - not even disney movies just movies in general. I went on the ride with my mom. We didn't know what to expect. I think the ride was new at the time. The shoulder harness came down on us and in my head I was like "Oh no! This is going to be like a rollercoaster or something scary! I don't like this." But then we were very confused. Stitch was "running around causing havoic" but nothing actually happened! I don't think the seats moved! I don't understand why it had such shoulder bars. It wasn't like we were going upside down or something. We just didn't understand this one. We felt like nothing happened.

I always wondered why it closed down!

I only went on it once before it closed. I was very young and terrified so I screamed the whole time and couldn’t enjoy it. I wish I could ride it again I’m sure it was very fun

Honesty stitches great escape was my best Disney ride I went to Disney for 2 weeks and I went on it 2x every day I can remember sitting at the front when I was so close to stitch it will still always be my favourite ride 😢

Stitch was one of my brother and I favorite ride at Disney I will always remember doing this with him. My brother is looking down at heaven now shaking his head.

Whaaaat i didn’t know they closed it down that was a very good ride and me and brother after we left we decided to find stitch because gantu said if you find him bring him to us but when we found him me didn’t bring him to him we just walked away but I have to admit when we where sitting out handles would jump up and down and it kinda hurts a bit but it was worth it I was like 10 or 11 or maybe a bit younger and he was 9 or 10 idk all I know is we had fun and I love the Lion king one it was really good as well

This is a similar situation to another ride that opened just a few days ago, and you guys know what i mean, it’s the attraction that lazily replaced splash mountain and shall not be mentioned. Also another reason why alien encounter had to close is that one of the actors in the movie jeffrey jones who played chairman LC Clench was arrested for possession of CP and disney wanted to distract themselves from it because they didn’t want to be associated with sex offenders.

As someone that had experienced both shows, Stich's Great Escape was completely inferior to Alien Encounter.

It was great , as a kid it was fun born in 96

I personally had a really bad experience at this ride when I first game to Disney world when I was around 5 or 6. I was a really sensitive child afraid of loud noises darkens and stuff. So my mom took me on it thinking it would be something cute and fun. I was so traumatized after we actually left the resort early because I couldn’t sleep thinking stitch would come through our door. However it’s been about 13 years since then and I honestly feel if it was still open and I tried again I might like it.

I think they should replaced stitch’s great escape with a with a scares house which is also a laser tag just like any zombies attractions called buzz lightyear’s space adventure where it is the Florida’s version of planet rescue from Shanghai Disneyland where the it is a walk through attraction where the it is based on the opening of toy story 2 where the score boards are hand held devices and the targets are on the z of the robots and there’s animatronic and live actors and the cast are Chris Evan as buzz Jeff pidgeon as the lgms and Wayne knight as zurg

I really wanted to see this attraction but it closed before i even got there, so my dreams are crushed. Now the only way to experience it for real is to travel back in time, but sadly time travel isn’t possible.

I highly enjoyed it

I’m sad I really miss the ride

I remember this ride

They should’ve never gotten rid of Alien Encounter and just left it as it was. But unfortunately it had to be closed not because of how scary it was, no at all… The main reason, was because of the Incident of Jeffery Jone’s arrest of taking pictures of under aged child corn, and Disney didn’t want the main star of the attraction be known as a pedo. If Jeffery Jones never committed the crime, Alien Encounter would’ve lasted all the way until Bob Iger came in.

I had to wait an hour for that ride it was really stupid. I LOVE STITCH but it was just like-😅

I love this stitch and idk why they have to close inesent stitch I never try it and it's super cute! Its maybe because some people just made stitch so creepy inside I still so sad it's closed

Stitch is a good movie and has a lot going on but this probably would make people feel like they are there which is kinda freaky

Stitches great escape was less of a ride and more of a show with lapbars that occasionally did something. It was essentially a 4d movie but not as cool as that sounds. Both times i was at disney world i rode it. I liked it a whole lot more at 7 versus 16

I’ve always wanted to go on this ride, but i was never brave enough to. My mom and some other family members told me about it, and how it would tickle you and stuff, and i was literally terrified. Still regret not trying it out to this day. (P.S. i was very very young when i fully decided I wouldn’t go) but pls tell me if it was that bad or not
