Eventhough they got points after the 3-1 win against the USA and the 2-2 tie against Mexico. However, what is more suprising is that they stood on that place after losing twice in the last international break (November 2023) against Türkiye 2-3 and 0-2 against Austria and lost 11+ points in the FIFA-Ranking that break. The only fair thing one can say to the German NT at the moment is, that they chose intentionally harder opponents in the last friendlies (for example Belgium on March 28th 2023 and France on September 11th 2023) and picked for the upcoming international break in March France again (Lyon on March 23rd 2024) and the Netherlands in Frankfurt (Main) (March 26th 2024). However, as a German following the NT, I can approve that it looks worrying. The group stage for the upcoming Home-EURO against Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland looks doable, but it will be pretty hard still, considering we didn't won both legs against Hungary, when we played against them in the last Nations League season (1-1 tie at home and 0-1 defeat away). Switzerland is an interesting opponent, but out of the 3, they are probably the easiest one to beat actually due to their stagnating performance in the just finished EURO-Qualfier Campaign for the Nati. They had all chances open to top their group, but bottled it by making too many ties and even losing against Romania in November, which sent Romania to win their Qualification group. Scotland is also an interesting opponent and can dominate countries pretty well, but were lately a bit weak against strong favorites (Spain: 0-2, France: 0-3, England: 1-3) and even made a tie against Georgia in a Q-Match. Eventhough it is a bit early to say it, but I want to be a bit optimistical at this prediction for our Group stage: 🇩🇪🆚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 3-2 (1-2) OPENING MATCH 🇩🇪🆚🇭🇺 1-2 (0-2) 🇨🇭🆚🇩🇪 2-5 (1-2) We have good potential in the offense with good offensive midfielders and strikers like Havertz, Füllkrug, Musiala and Ducksch. However, a German-Türkish striker, Undav, currently playing at Stuttgart on a loan, decided to play for Germany lately. So he might help us. Our biggest problem is the defense though, so I expect us to concede atleast once each match. Nonetheless, if Julian Nagelsmann somehow decides to take some of our U17-Boys, this might change to the better actually, because they recently won the U17-World Cup in Indonesia for the first time ever after a thrilling final against France 2-2 (1-0) and a close 4-3 win on penalty shootout.

Excellent video but the "lack of titles" after 2000 doesn't indicate a downfall for me if you take into consideration how they reached the semifinals pretty much every single time (up until 2018 that is of course)

Yeah normally I'd agree but as indicated in the video, Germany regularly reached semi finals and finals, and it's their absence from these nowadays which casts a big spotlight on them. Of course I'd love England to be suffering a "downfall" with finishing in the top 2 of the Euros or World Cup 14 times 😬 but that Germany no longer hit those heights regularly, it's more noticeable.
