If you're caught chatting inappropriately with a minor and your defense is that from a legal standpoint nothing illegal took place, you're lost.

A grown adult should not be privately messaging a minor outside of like, actual family. Period. The second you learn that the person you're messaging is a minor, you shut that down instantly. If those messages were in fact inappropriate (he said they were), then he's cooked. The man would have been in his late 30s at the time, and should have known better.

It is important to know if he KNEW the person was a minor. I also think it would be important to know the degree at which the DM's were innaproppriate.

I can almost guarantee there’s more to the story. It’s been locked in the vault for years, and now it’s blowing up his life like it just happened. There’s definitely more to it. He’s just very confident that the rest of the story won’t come out.

We still don't knew if he know her age at the time.. and twitch is not supposed to have minors in the whisper system

it makes sense twitch wouldn't want it to be public since it's a failing on their part allowing minors in their 18+ whisper system, even if there isn't really much they can do to prevent it. and any legal thing involving a minor has most of the details redacted anyways.

The twitch mob will do all they can to make him look bad. Hope the logs and names of the twitch mob comes out and we can carry on proper judgment.

He would have stated that in his statement but he has not,thats a 100% thing you would say in this situation,only reason why he wouldn't say that is if someone has the messages and it's some funny stuff proving he knew her age

As far as we know this could still be a similar situation to the Chugga controversy which ended up not being what the claims made against him were. There is many cases of young girls actively trying to solicit older men and do so sneakily at first. Once shut down, they go into full metoo mode and make accusations that the guy they were sending solicitations to were in fact the ones doing it to them un-prompted. Doesn't mean that is how it always happens, but it isn't something that doesn't either. Considering how the former is only treated as slander if found true and the later treated as criminal charges if true, usually when these types of allegations occur if it ends up real there tends to be charges pretty soon afterward. Considering there were none years after, I am more inclined to think there wasn't anything criminal.

Even if he thought she was of legal age, dude is still a piece of shit for cheating on his wife at least once that we know about, and also trying to cheat with whoever he was messaging here.

You're having trouble understanding what is a crime or not! He did not commit a crime, no pictures where exchanged, no physical contact occurred thus no crime! That being said having inappropriate conversations with a MINOR online is morally wrong and grounds for dismissal from any organization! You can be let go for morally corrupt behavior! Borderline predatory behavior is a red flag anywhere! Also: DON'T text CHILDREN!

@@davidsmnje If there was a settlement this also implies that Twitch wasn't in its full right to fire him for these messages, even if it was with a minor, and inappropriate, which is as far I know highly subjective, and can cover a wide range of cases. Stop being blinded by your convictions. Stick to facts please.
