    Helen was superb in Peakys.. there were so many powerful actors in Peakys, and Helen was one of the best. Very sad to see her pass when she seemed to be at a peak in her career.

    This documentary is about the gang that the TV series were based on. There was an actual gang called The Peaky Blinders, but they were a 2 bit gang in comparison to what we see on TV. In essence, the producers of the show took tha name of one gang and the actions of another an combined them.

    wrong. Billy Kimber was one of the most prolific gangsters of the era. him and some of his gangsters moved to the US and Canada and continued and then possibly moved back to England. it is unknown what happened to him but it is quite certain that he never quit. He was still murdering in the US when he moved there

    It's the name of a series about birmingham gangs, and they named the series (seven seasons?) after a well known gang.....which would get their own episode if I remember. And if you call this modern gang wars, then I don't know what to tell you....the series dig it's way down the decades, and that's the real world. Get with it.

    The Sabinis, Billy Kimber, 1920's Birmingham. It looks to be about the era when the peaky blinders were also roaming the streets though. Peaky Blinders just weren't as big as they want you to believe in the Netflix series. There were bigger players out there.

    I read a book about the gangs of New York (the ones who Scorsese based his film on) and they were the same, all around the five and a half feet tops mark. Everyone was poor and undernourished back then in the places where these gangs flourished.

    I lived in those neighbourhoods at the time. I think there was one National Front march with a massive Police presence. Apart from that the 'new' locals were getting on with becoming crooks and drug pushing scum without any help from any 'right wing' antagonists.

    My dad grew up in smethwick in the 30’s. He had no time for the romanticised stories Of the peaky blinders And others. He said they were thugs and everyone was afraid of them.
