I believe in this: Lovesick girls is not about BLACKPINK moving on from a toxic relationship. Its about suicide. Jennie first part- crashed her car after a break up Jennie rap part- in the hospital after car crash then she killed herself. Lisa first part- jumps off building because of break up Lisa rap part- Before jumping off the building, she broke a car using a bat Rosé first part- She would keep drowning herself til she dies Rosé second part(verse 2)- mix of memories of Rosé and her ex after she died Rosé verse 3- drowned herself in the bathtub Meanwhile Jisoo, the reason why she does not have a scene with "Loren" is because she was only lovesick, because of her dead friends. Jisoo first part(verse 1)- Turns clock upside-down because she wanted to turn back time to save her friends Jisoo verse 2- A running scene of her trying to save her friends but it's too late Jisoo verse 3- She jumped on the pool and drowned herself(in the making of m/v, she was scared to jump so it was not shown in the m/v) On the last part, they all reunited in a paradise where they won't feel anymore pain

Found this comment on the M/V: (i added some bits, but mostly not mine.) The same guy breaks the hearts of Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé. Because of the pain, Jennie fights with him and dies in a car crash. Next, Lisa is overcome with anger and jumps off the skyscraper to escape the pain. Jisoo sees she only has one friend left and tries to "stop time" to save Rosé. When that doesn't work, she runs to save her, but before she can, Rosé drowns herself in a bathtub because of the same guy who broke her heart. Overcome by the death of her three friends, Jisoo feels like the world is raining down on her, and that she will never be dry again. Therefore, she kills herself by swimming in a pool charged with electricity. In the afterlife, the four girls meet together once more, but now they are beyond romance. We can see them enjoying the fields as if they are experiencing true freedom, free from the chains of love. This is my part: You can see that when the girls are dancing, there is a sign behind them that says: Born to die alone. Also, in front f the shop, there is a sign that says crossroads. It means that they cannot pick to stay or leave their toxic relationships. Also, Jisoo has a sign behind her that says NOTHING in the pool. It means her friends have all died so she has nothing else to live for. Also, Rosé was supposed to get married to the dude, she was lying on a white dress crying, and she was also trying to tug off her engagement ring in the bathtub scene.

I think you should use couldn't instead of shouldn't. It changes the meaning.

Pwf- The start of a relationship. Stay- The during a fight on a relationship. Lsg- The end of love. Explanation: I agree about the idea that friendship saved them. First of all if we look at pwf's visuals and lyrics it clearly states that they chosed love but it is like fire spreading into their heart. Jisoo's visual was always alone in a closet but when she opens it, it means that she is ready for love but when she closed it, she also closed her heart but it doesnt mean their friendship are over, when the group dance on the pillars of fire it means they are breaking apart because they have their own lovelife. Stay would be during the fight because they dont know if the boy will stay, so they start to look for their friends to open up and do something fun but they come to that place at different time, stay would be the end of jisoo's love, when we see jisoo on a swing it means she is free and now have the responsibility to take care of her friends. Lovesick girls would be the end because they are over with their lifes and wants to end it but jisoo is trying to save them by turning back time because she loves them at the end we saw jisoo drowning in pain just to save her friend, we saw them dancing and having fun together because jisoo succeeded to save her friends. The lesson is that love is like playing with fire if you touch the fire it will spread and the one thing that you are gonna is stay with that fire and keep playing until you are tired of playing with love.

I read somewhere a very different interpretation of this video: Jennie died of a car crash-She just came from therapy and her boyfriend gave her flowers. There’s a scene where Jennie is in a psychiatrist’s clinic acting like someone suffering from a mental breakdown. Then she’s hitting her boyfriend with flowers, causing the car to crash. Lisa jumping off the building that’s why she was standing on the edge. Jisoo holding an hourglass that does the reverse; she wanted to turn back time. Also the blue flowers symbolizing hope and the unreachable (i.e., trying to save everyone). This is also the reason why she’s running so fast, and the word “Nothing”-there was nothing she could do. Rosé in a bathtub covered in black-drowned herself in the bathtub. The happy parts are their happy moments together. Jisoo decided to kill herself eventually out of guilt. Then they are now all together in their pink car-reunited, happy, and free.

i had a different theory (i believe others have had the same as me) what if it’s about their deaths? jennie and her boyfriend are fighting in the car and then they end up getting in a car crash and jennie dies. the next scene is lisa with her partner and she’s overcome with so much pain that she decides to jump off the building. the scene with jisoo and the hourglass going backwards could symbolize her wanting to go back in time to save her best friends from their death. and then later on, rosé is in a bathtub of black water and she ended up drowning herself. and when jisoo is running in the street, that could symbolize her running to save her friends and she then slows down because she’s realized she’s too late. and then when jisoo is standing in the water with the sign “nothing” behind her, represents her feeling so guilty about not being able to save them that she drowns herself. and at the end when they’re all in the pink car, that’s them reuniting in heaven and finally being at peace. it’s kinda dark but it’s so incredible when you really think about it

This is the actual meaning to ‘lovesick girls’ Jennie’s metal health was getting worse by the day,when the person she was dating broke up with her she a had a enough,she blacked out which led to the car crashing, her loved one dying from broken bones,blood loss, and broken skull. Lisa thought her relationship was going great...until he broke up with her as well. Lisa was so depressed and hurt she couldn’t get over him, that she soon had enough of him and, jumped off the building to her death. Rosé, she started to realize her relationship was toxic.sleepless night,fighting, and then when he left her, she drowned herself in a tub which turned black from how broken her heart was. Jisoo, she tried and tried to save the other. Noticing that she was running out of time.the Timer and she sells hand broke which meant that she was out of time to go save them. Running and running as fast as she could.......but unfortunately for her they were gone, they were dead. She just couldn’t believe that they were dead, she had to be with them. Walking into the water,crying,missing her friends she had to be with them, so she drowned herself in the big pool dying,but she was finally with them.(the car in the beginning of the MV was representing them in the after life).

It just started to save mine-

i feel like I haven’t seen this concept a lot in Kpop, like the raw feeling of the risk one takes when falling in love, getting heartbroken and then still wanting to do it all over again if given the chance or still look for it regardless of how many times they failed.

I believe this is the theory: Playing with fire is the start of their relationship. It is easily visible in the lyrics like Love is like playing with fire. You can see they split up cause they got their love life.They tried to stay away form friendship and got in relationship. I think that guy who is with Lisa, Rose and Jennie is the same. He wasn't in a scene with Jisoo because she is trying to avoid her feelings by locking herself in the closet. He was playing with all of their feelings. And the next is Stay. Its when they feel like he is cheating. So they fight with them, making them think he is gonna leave them.They are telling them to stay.In Jennie's lyrics she is saying instead of having meaningless conversations with others I'd rather be in awkward silence with him. They are starting to loose hope so their friendship which was broken because of Love comforted them.In Jisoo's case she's singing while swinging. She is free from love. She is regretting what she did. She says to herself that she doesn't need him.Now her responsibility is to protect her best friends.She comforted them but they still want his love too. Even though she could time travel, it was too late. She slowed down realising its too late. Rose too drowned herself in the the bathtub.The pink side of love had become black.Then Jisoo felt guilt cause she couldn't stop them from suicide nor protect them from toxic relationship. The NOTHING board shows that she don't have another chance. She doesn't have her friends. It was all because of love .She cried in the rain until she was fully drowned. Then they met in heaven. The last and first car scene with all of them together happened in Heaven. They again united. They don't need a man. They forgot about the toxic relationships and made their friendship stronger. Now they have their friends's shoulders to lean on when sad to laugh with and cry with. And then their is Gone too in this chapter.Rose is trying to find that guy without telling the others. And there is the bath tub in which Rose died.She found him and saw that he is going to marry some girl. She realise that he is gonna marry that girl in the same day which they were supposed o marry. She realises that he doesn't remember her. Before she was gonna die in lovesick girls MV she thought he will realise his mistake and regret his decisions after she die. But she was wrong.All my love is gone she is again thinking about it. But then she remembers what her best friends say.And she tried to forget him. I don't know if there is gonna be any continuation to this chapter.But I think their next song is Ready for love. I think its gonna be connected with this chapter. So this is my theory and this is shitty long. Lovesick girls theory is longer .I am sorry if its too long. I just said what I understood. And sorry if my english is bad. Omg..AI caught me talking about the meaning of this to my sister before watching this video. And this suggestion came up 😐 but the scary thing is that we were conversing in my regional language.

I saw a different video where they said that the girls committed suicide and Jisoo tried to save them by going back in time and she couldn’t live without her friends, so she drowned herself. At the end, it was supposed to show that they reunited in the afterlife. There was even proof on the official poster/banner. It showed Jisoo looking at the camera while the others kept their eyes closed, representing them being dead.

the story is in my opinion is that On the ground by Rose was her before life of fame where she was famous before meeting her bf and the line "I am way up in the clouds they say i have made it now but I figured it out every thing I need is on the ground" means that she no longer wants to live her fame life and wants to quit because of her ex who she loved that time if u remember the line "Just drove by your house so far from u now" next is lovesick girls rose and that boy become official now but rose didnt know he was just playing with her. This song is absolutely beautiful!! I was so shiny when they made it because I recently went through a super painful breakup. My heart was broken. I felt I was thrown in the trash and replaced with another girl who was better. I felt worthless And I felt that no one could ever love me because I was just too quirky. I've read a theory recently that this is basically a depressing story, about 3 girls that took their life because of their failed relationships. my theory: jennie 1: she tried crashing the boyfriends car + suicide after the breakup jennie 2: that didn’t work so she got sent to a mental hospital to help with her suicidal thoughts but after she crashed her boyfriends car she had severe brain damage which resulted in her commiting suicide rosé 1: the memories of her boyfriend and her kept running through her head and caused her to have suicidal thoughts rosé 2: same thing as one but the thoughts got worse rosé 3: her thoughts overcame her and she committed suicide by drowning herself in the bathtub full of poison lisa 1: she can’t take the pain so she jumped off the roof of a building commiting suicide lisa 2: jisoo remembers cheering lisa on while wrecking her boyfriends car jisoo 1: she runs up the car ramp to the roof where lisa was but jisoo wasn’t fast enough jisoo 2: with the pinks gone, she finally decided to commit suicide. she found that the most painless way was drowning like rosé end: the memories of when they were all happy before their ex’s. the end memories are from family members, yg staff, etc.

My theory : We can see Lisa in high place, Rosè in a bathtub, and Jennie car crash and jisoo crying and Running. So my theory is Lisa jumped off the tall building, Rosè drowing, and jennie tried to d*ed in the car crash but failed so she k*lled her self in the hospital and jisoo running was about trying to save everyone doing su*cide but she failed that's why she cried in the rain with a sing thay say "Nothing" behind it

This is my theory (although i know there are many people here who would have written somethings similar to this) Jennie starts the song and as we can see she was shown fighting with her partner that led to a car crash and the scene where she is in hospital is that she is dead but still haunts that area as a mad nurse because her ex survived the car crash and she was the one who died and she wants to protect other girls that go through toxic relationships(even though that was not shown in the mv, you can see the bts of the mv) The next scene Lisa is shown with her ex, she knows he cheated on her but the pink side of her leds her to not confront him as you can see in the mv she is having a sad face glancing at him, while the black side of her she destroyed the car and let out her frustration and at the end at the edge of the building where she was with her ex she jumps from the building and dies there while his ex also survives Moving on Rosé was having a realy good realtionship but she figures out that her partner was cheating on her and she splashes black paint on that pink wall that they had coloured together as result that she wants to end everything with him and the she breaks the guitar, which she used to sing song for her ex and in the bridge we can see that she was in a bathtub that was filled with black paint that points that she killed herself Moving on to jisoo she was not in any realtionship, but she knew that the girls partner where cheating on them as we can see that she ran on the bridge to save the girls but she fails, as in result we can see she tries to rewind the time ( the flower field scene which she was holding a hourglass )and later onshe takes revenge on the ex bfs of the girls by the scene in which she was drenched in rain and that water had electric shocks and the guys died there and at the end she wanted to be with the girls and she drowns herself in the electric water too... And in the end we can see all of them happy in heaven (reference to the first scene, in which they were in a pink car) at the end its just them trying to find love again and they were confused too why are they doing this but ends up trying to find love again as they did not had anything to lose, the ending line was "why are we still looking for love" Thats my theory pls dont spread hate towards me if i have written anything that offended you i m sorry and sorry for the grammer mistakes as English is not my mothertoung

I agree until the Jisoo part. My take is she tried to save her friends (Why shes running) But in the end shes failed and killed herself in the pool (Hence why shes in a pool and wet, the Nothing Sign behind her means she has lost everything...her friends.) Such an upbeat song to a very sad and depressing M/V.

this is what i think jennie is busy fighting to her man while the car is moving so they end up getting in to car crash rosé remembering her day with her man shes so angry that the man left so she drown her self into bathtub lisa jump off the building becuz she cant hadle the pain anymore jisso wants to save her friends but its to late she want to turn back the time but she cant to nothing so she drown her self and the scene where they are having fun in pink car that means they already met each other in diffrent world

i thought the song was showing how these 3 girls (lisa, jennie, rosé) coped with their break-ups, and in the end the 3 girls had enough and committed suicide. they were all friends including jisoo who wanted to save them, but she ran out of time. jisoo also committed suicide by using the broken glass of the hourglass to slit her throat. the scene where they are all in a car together going to get popcorn was the last thought jisoo ever thought.
