The Real Journey to Churchill
Фильм және анимация
Our family's journey to Churchill, Manitoba.
We drove from Winnipeg to Thompson and then took the train up to Churchill. Once there we went on the Frontiers North Tundra Buggy looking for polar bears, went dog sledding (without snow) and then went exploring.

At 9:33, in the distance you see reddish rocks on the right of the screen. To the right of that was Fort Churchill Military Base. This is where my sister and I were born and raised until 1974. It was closed in '75 and I believe bulldozed in '77. Great place to be a kid.
These kids will never forget this trip. Thanks for sharing.
Superb video - what time of year did you go? Thanks from Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Amazing
Great video. On my bucket list for sure. Was only a couple of months old when I left with brother and mom in 1959. Dad was stationed in navy up there and finished his tour a few months later. Have seen a lot of old black and white photos but this is great.
What a splendid vacation with a great family. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Made the train trip from Winnipeg to Churchill twice back in the '80's. Great memories. Great video you made!
Nice, got to watch/see a bit of Churchill on video. Great vid!
Awesome video! Very well done. I hope you enjoyed your time in our town, it sure seems you got quite the experience in 3 days up there. My favourite part was knowing right away who your youngster was talking about when the train man told him no kids allowed. That's our good friend Dave.

This was an amazing video. I live in California and can’t stand the heat. This is where I’d love to vacation.
Amazing video thanx for sharing it..
thanks,great video
thank you for this .. planning this trip this fall. cheers
U can drive from Winnipeg to Churchill 5 yrs ago? Because now 2023 I’ve been reading that the only to get to Churchill is by train or plane from Winnipeg
at 4:44, appears to be a wrecked train that will never be removed.
Should build a highway to Churchill from Toronto, you are missing out on great tourism income right now
So far to get there from Sweden though, first it takes more than 24 hour just to get to Winnipeg, so I would spend almost 150 hours just transporting if I take the train from Winnipeg, and do the same when returning back home
brilliant.
Winnipeg to Churchill in train is very very nice.
You lucky ! I was going to take the train but the railway broke because of a flood

the rail line has now been repaired and passenger trains began running again on December 2, 2018
Hi, I love a family roadtrip and drove 6 weeks each summer with my own 4 sons when they were growing up. So your video brought back incredible memories :) One thing I don't understand is that I heard there were no roads into Churchill - only planes and trains. Yet you are driving there? Can you help me to understand how this works?

Ahhh I see, as the video continues. You trained the last bit. But now the train is down after Gillian? Any news on this since you're more of a "local"?

Always reassuring when on a train to see a ton of derailed train cars littered all around the tracks. Kinda like pulling into an airport with crashed planes all around.
娘さん可愛いな こんなお姉ちゃん欲しかったので娘さんの弟に嫉妬
What time of year? What's with all the abandoned railcars? That beach at Churchill-looks nice-is it ever used?
I'm going to churchill in 3 days . (As of October 1st 2017
Hey what happened to that derailed train?
