Monty Roberts is an awesome trainer. He doesn't use force. You see no sweating on these horses. You also hear him tell the whole audience to owner they must continue with the training. Join up is a must.. Not just the old way . Its history . Abuse training a horse is wrong. I have fired trainers because of abuse when they said they don't use abuse and caught in the act. Open up your eyes Monty Roberts has gained the trust of more horses than abuse does. Shame on abusers of HORSES or animals

Amazing, how some of the viewers keep referring to Monty as the Horse Whisperer. If you've read his book, you'll notice that it's entitled The Man Who Talks To Horses. In part one of this series, several viewers accused him of torturing the horses. Again, they are wrong, didn't do their homework, or didn't pay attention. Monty showed the "old way", the way of his father, and that it was the wrong way. Don't condemn this man for showing that understanding is the way. The results he shows proves it.

yes all the horses born at my place baby talk. I have had hprses taken off the hills with no real contact with people and they do respond to this technique. it's hardly rocket science its just being obsevant of natural behaviour and treating the horse accordingly. This man changed life for a lot of horses but unfortunately some ignorant people still dont listen...ignorant people who think they know better but don't actually have an iota of 'horse sense'!

When Shy Boy was eventually brought back to wild mustang herd, which Monty did to see if Join Up was real...because if it was real and Shy Boy really bonded with him as his heard leader, Shy Boy would CHOSE to stay with Monty. Shy Boy ran with the herd, but HE CAME BACK to Monty!!!! He CHOSE Monty. This man is the embodiment of love, and patience and his gift with horses and the 47 children he fostered is a gift from God Almighty.

This guy changed how we train horses forever. None of the cruel methods which some people call 'traditional'. I have used a mixture of Monty's methods and those of the Pignon brothers on my young Clydesdale. It worked and I have got myself the most wonderful horse and a relationship based on mutual respect.

Obviously none of these people have heard of Kel Jeffery, who practiced gentling a horse and understood equine language well. He died in 1954, and he was probably the first to use such methods. And of course, he was Australian. He left a fabulous legacy of how to educate a horse.

The BLM freeze brands all of the Mustangs that they adopt out. The fact that this horse has the brand only means he's been rounded up, run through a chute, and branded. It doesn't mean he has been handled in any other way.

Sam Cechner commented that this horse is a "Standardbred" - a trotter or pacer used in harness racing. He cites that the horse has a neck brand and only Standardbreds have neck brands. He's wrong on all three counts. 1 - Other breeds have neck brands. 2- Standardbreds, in accordance with the rules of the United States and Canadian Trotting associations are ALWAYS branded on the right side of their upper neck. This horse appears to have some kind of brand on the left side. 3- I know Standardbreds and this is no Standardbred. Thank you.

I did finally get to watch some MCFH episodes. Too late for my cats, aged 19 & 14 respectively, who died from illnesses they got from the poisoned rice in pet food a few yrs. ago. The younger, a big alpha male, was a "problem child". (A co-worker who gave him to me confessed afterwards that the cat had destroyed his apt.). What I learned from MCFH was that what a pack is to dogs, territory was to cats. Had I set aside some territory for big D, perhaps he would have been less of a problem.

He said before that the hind legs aren't what kill you and later he says a hind leg can be lethal, let me tell you firsthand- I have seen a girl get kicked square in the chest with both feet in my halter class at the fair one year. I mean..it was perfect aim. They can see behind themselves and their back legs are angled perfectly for striking out long distances in all directions with a huge amount of power. So I would say both ends can kill you, but the one more likely to get you is the back end.

And that is yet another something that the society even to this day is STILL lacking: Patience... In health, weight loss, diets, certain products that gives the consumer a "short-cut", education, schooling, jobs, etc., etc., etc.. In Nature, there is NO RUSH. NO TIME LIMIT. Time is no more than an illusion created by man.

recklessheartranch, it always makes me sad when I see this sort of malicious comparisons being made between the fabulous group of "horse whisperers" which have graced our generation. Believe me, we need ALL of them to push back the tsunami of cruel, ignorant traditional methods. MR was born in '35. BB was born in '62. So, when Monty says all the books he read as a young man (before BB was even born) didn't mention these natural techniques, why would you try to make him sound bad? :-(

He just switched the technique from women to horses. That technique here is called STALKING, when is done on people. An animal has no one in the begining to defend him of the bullying stalker. Of course, you can follow any horse until it gets tired and it' s willing to comply. Doing on a person it's outright stalking and taken advantage of that person's will and freedom, when she is not agreeing with your following them.

I see it and don't believe it. Putting a rope around a wild horses neck like at 10:40? They must have cut this film because, even though it seems like he's spent a long time "busting" the horse to get it to trust him.....still, a wild horse will still freak out at the touch of that rope. Think about it. It's never felt a human or a rope touch it in it's entire life, and I'm suppose to believe that Monty gets it to trust him in a few days. - Sorry. It doesn't happen that way. Ever.

Monty already had the farm. What he wants, and the reason he likes publicity, is because he wants as many people as possible to use his passive ways with the horse, to make the lives of horses better all over the world. I believe he started the trend and many have followed. Monty wants that if it improves the life of the horses

The animals were made to be our friends. You are right. We should not hurt them. But, they are actually happier when they have a human to love and work to do. Just like people are happier when they know and love their God and keep busy doing productive work. Obviously, God created horses for our companionship and transportation. He will be riding one when He returns to take back the earth: Revelation 19:11: "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon Him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war."

Monty Robards said he would never take a wild horse from the wilds again This horse was not wild when he tuck it from the Wilds the first time . Let me tell yous about Monty Robards he was never Beating by his Farther Monty Robards beats horse on Flag Farm when the Camera are not on him. as for the Round up and follower up in the round pen that been done hundreds of years ago and long lines on a horse. People have left Flag Farm after they seen Monty Beat a horse to do his round pen work the way he like it done. you can train a horse to come to you if people claps there hands and the horse will go to Monty and it did. He had one horse called Danger was going to be put down but one lad tuck the horse to his home with in two weeks it turn out a nice horse for a child to ride. Monty Robards doing all this to make fame and Money. Buy his books see if it works yous. Yous will end up getting hurt by the horse. One thing he his right you do not have to hurt a horse in anyway but you got to show the horse who boss by moving its feet. That the name of the game in horse training move it feet get the thinking side of the horse brain. Every time Monty Speaks it not to hurt the horse but when the camera are not on his Flag Farm he doing what he said his Farther did. Monty Robards was a spoilt Child he was never hurt by his Farther where the scars if he been whip with chains Even Monty Brother said he lied about his Farther His Farther he had a riding school he was hard on the horse them day everyone was they did not know any other way. Its was in 1998 when Monty was starting to be knowing as the Horse whisper Why it taking so long to come out in 1998. Those who know a bit about the horse watch them in the round pen they are already trained. Look on Google Monty Robards horse whisper & Lies

Why does man need to control everything in this world? These horses are wild, they should be left alone, and in peace. Don't people have enough horses around to use? You take these horses out of their families, their environment just to use them and hurt them. That is the way I see it. Long ago horses were used because man needed them, today it is just a show off of abuse. I don't agree with this concept. I love horse. I didn't grow up among horses but I feel that to each its own. Leave them in peace!!!
