Along the way, I'll chat with locals, capturing their perspectives on the impact of Eminem and the legacy of 8 Mile Road. Get ready for a look into the heart of Detroit's most legendary street. Grew up down the street from Gilbert's when Em worked there; saw him regularly in the kitchen. So happy for his success. He's a genius

You didn't see him regularly in the kitchen. He said himself he didn't hold that job
Saw slim shady in concert a few times. One of his concerts he actually had a replica of his 8 mile house on stage.
I've never seen anyone did any content or video in 8mile or the trailer park neither.....thank you for this short film!!! 🇧🇿👏👍

Man when I first came to Michigan 5 yrs ago, I found myself in 7 mile looking for Jamaican food. The place looks like it's been closed for years.... The whole place looks like a haunted house with zombies walking around. I've never seen anything like it in my life. I love living in Saline, but enjoy ride around in Detroit at times
Lincoln high school was a decent school. They did a facelift in the 90s. They had woodshop, metal shop, drafting, auto shop, Olympic size swimming pool, and had an offsite building trades and students built houses. Really the school had everything when I was there in the 80s .

Actually he is 51 Marshall Bruce Mathers III (born October 17, 1972), known professionally as Eminem, is an American rapper. He is credited with popularizing hip hop in Middle America and is widely regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time.[3] His global success is considered to have broken racial barriers to the acceptance of white rappers in popular music. While much of his transgressive work during the late 1990s and early 2000s made him a controversial figure, he came to be a representation of popular angst of the American underclass and has been cited as an influence by and upon many artists working in various genres.

As always, wonderful content Chris! You're such an inspiration.
This was cool! Eminem is still my favorite artist i listen too. Tons of us related to his home grown words. Some hit harder than others.❤
Too bad Chris , you didn't visit some of the neighborhoods inside Detroit. The trailer park you were in is Warren, MI. 8 mile Road is the northern border of Detroit. Next time you come to Detroit, you should visit some places inside Detroit, maybe starting with Motown , or just driving some of the other parts!!!

Thank you for all the work & time you put into this video and for sharing it! Great job!! I grew up in Wallaceburg (between Chatham & Sarnia) so I crossed the border for a few events & shopping trips a few times throughout the years. Never got to see 8 Mile and the Eminem stomping grounds though! I live in Brantford now so my trips in that direction are quite minimal these days…. so this was fun to watch! I agree - the older Eminem stuff is definitely where it’s at! I look forward to hitting up your archives! 😊 Take care!
A buddy of mine and me made this trip back in 2019. He was scared to death and wouldn’t stop and get out but we cruised around all the places you were in this video. Very cool to see where Em grew up and went to school. It was def a change of scenery from what us two East Tennessee boys were use to,lol!!
i remember listening to 88.1 on Saturday mornings in toronto. it was local and new hip hop. i was working out and heard his first release. i couldnt beleive what i was hearing. rap needed him

33:22 Detroit is my hometown and when I moved one of the elements I missed were the people. They are the most genuine and chilled in the world. BTW, you need to do a video of the techno festival downtown in late may, it is a blast with people coming from around the world.
I was hoping you'd decide to go to Gilbert's to eat. Their food and service are still fantastic all these decades later. Many kids I went to high school with, had their first jobs at Gilbert's. I grew up a little further down 8 Mile than Eminem did. I'm also much older 😂 I'll be 70 in a few months & no longer live in the area. I moved up to Traverse City after my Dad retired and moved to this area. Then he got cancer, so I moved to be closer to him to help him. I had 3 children of my own by then. Thanks for the 8 Mile/Eminem tour. Also for Gilbert's. It was wonderful seeing it again since I can no longer drive and won't be able to visit it again. Safe Travels. I'm sooooo enjoying your videos. Thank You 🥰 BTW....If you get a chance to go to Gilbert's again, their pizza is phenomenal and just as good as their burgers !!!!
