oh boo-hoo she’s not the first woman to be cheated on and she won’t be the last. Seems to me that she made her husband and children, miserable, and married or not he has a right to move on with his life if he’s not happy in his marriage. The man had one life to live and if he didn’t want to live it being tied to a miserable, ugly, mean, grouchy wife, then its his life and his choice. RipDan/Linda.

What kind of woman pursues a married man; much less a father of four, 17y older than her, and also her boss? She then brags about it around the office. She proceeds to mercilessly taunt the wife. She also calls her derogatory names to her children. She was shameless. Immoral. Vile. Cheap. Immature. Selfish. She had no redeemable qualities. And let’s be honest here: if Dan was one of the office clerks instead of the big boss with loads of money, she wouldn’t have given him the time of day. At all. She’d call him a perverted and dirty old man. Don’t come at me because she was murdered. I never said it was justified. I’m simply stating what kind of *woman* she was. Awful

Betty was a ugly, fat, manipulative, miserable woman who tortured her family well before the affair and the divorce. If you’re going to make life miserable for your husband, don’t expect for him to stick around for it. How long was Linda supposed to deal with being called nasty names on their voicemail by Betty. At some point, of course she’s going to get nasty with her. Linda didn't cause Betty to lose her husband, Betty did that all on her own. What kind of disgusting, vile, immortal woman mentality tortures her own children. I truly believe that she would have murdered her own children just to spite Dan. She's crazy and deserves to be in prison for the rest of her life Fk Betty.

@Oceaneyes, while I agree that he sounded like a big jerk, he certainly didn’t deserve to die. They had had a tumultuous relationship for years... even the children testified to that. He did Betty wrong no doubt, but again... he didn’t deserve to be shot in his sleep. The saddest victims of course are their children. Betty literally ripped their lives apart. It broke my heart when Oprah interviewed two of them years ago. Betty is a piece of work. She was attractive, extremely intelligent, college educated, certainly could have held out in the courts for more money from Dan, and could have had a full and wonderful life. She made a terrible choice and left many lives (including her own) in wreckage behind her.

At one point she even threw a fit when he bought her a ring as a present because in her eyes it was too small. She also claims that they were poor at the time he was making $82,000 a year -- which was a lot back in the late 1970s! The woman's an inveterate liar and a toxic narcissist, to boot. Seeing some of the comments here makes me understand why victims of emotional abuse are not coming forward. She married a guy who was a student, who had no money. She was young and beautiful and could have gone for an older rich men but she chose to marry Dan and let him concentrate on his studies while she took care of kids, house and finances. That’s a great wife in my book. And when he finally makes it he takes up with a much younger girl while giving his wife hot and cold treatment, gaslighting her and treating her worse than a stranger. Yes people fall out of love unfortunately but you still have to be decent to the person you are leaving. He cheated on her, emotionally abused her, made her doubt the reality, taunted his side piece any way he could, took away her kids and life as she knew it. I am not justifying a murder but he definitely put this gun in her hands.

Betty was nasty….like Dan said, she criticized everything he did and everything he said. That must have discouraged Dan day after day and pushed him far away from her. Like her friend told her, she has everything going for her, etc., etc. she made a very, very bad choice!

Betty Broderick, unfortunately, did what so many women have thought about doing in similar situations. What she went through has been happening to so many women and no one really seems to care. Dan cheated on her and he did not care about the pain he caused Betty. He was not remorseful and should have been disbarred for using the law for his own personal gain and unethical behavior. He used the law against her and made it hard for her to get her own legal counsel. He was gaslighting Betty for a long time and is a narcissist . when he decided to leave which was long before he actually did leave is when he discarded her. A tactic most narcissist practice when they are done with their victim. He took and stole all the things that were important to Betty. He even did the things that Betty planned and was so good about , such as vacations with the kids, he used it as though he planned it...I'm talking about after he left her. I know what she went through because I am going through the same thing. The money ,the lawyers , family ,all the lies and the secrets. Dan was gaslighting her and pushed her buttons. He played it all so well. The only part he did not foresee was his death. She was the victim long before Dan ultimately became the victim and she ultimately had the last word, a voice that before no one would listen. She wanted him to know how she felt and she wanted to be validated for her sacrifices and yes compensated . And when she tried to get it through the law the judicial.system failed her . All because Dan Was a lawyer and used it against her. She has paid more than enough time for her crime and what for? To a court system that was biased and labeled her as crazy when really it was temporary insanity. She has served more time then those who have done far worse. She is sorry for going to far and she is remorseful. Everything she said in jail , to other people and in court was.scrutinized, picked apart and twisted into what they thought. She should have been released in 2017 and now it looks like she will never get out. I say let her spend her last years with her family and not in a prison cell.

if BBroderick wants out she's gonna have to be like every other prisoner and play the game - get familiar with AUTHENTIC remorse and show progress in rehabilitation - being a good girl in the slammer is not enough. as for her shaky-voiced apology a few years back, parole boards can spot a 'snow job' in a heartbeat. some 30 years later and she still aint sorry she killed them so prison it is. Betty was no victim but she still loves to play one.

This woman gave her LIFE not only to Dan Broderick, but to ensure a comfortable life past the kids growing up & forming their own lives….She had multiple miscarriages, worked AND cared for the children she’d had when Dan was going to school to become what he came to be….Once he reached his level, time to discard the one who helped him get there, & collect the “model of his choice”, a considerably younger woman who didn’t lift one finger to assist him in getting to his place in the legal world, but was all too willing to enjoy the fruits of his labor, & he was all for it….Sure it happens but they could’ve saved the emotional abuse they inflicted on her….They broke her & made her do what she did.

I agree with you. She should've put the children first. If she was smart, she should've went after every dollar that she was entitled to. Had she done that, she would've outsmarted him. Instead of serving life in prison, she could have retired and live a life of luxury. I would've went after his $$$. Speaking of money and mistakes she should not have married him when he was broke and put through school. I would've told him call me when you have your career established, you're not ready and I'm not Barbara the builder. Lesson learned from this case is don't marry a broke man. Don't sacrifice your life to make him somebody. Instead treat yourself like your the prize and make him pursue and pay for you.

I think Dan was abusive and no one came to Betty's defense. Betty was a victim of Dan and Linda but the system never helped her. Betty worked as a slave for this Dan and in the end he wanted to leave her with nothing. I believe that what she did was because no one defended her and this Dan manipulated all entire system for his benefit. Dan was always a liar to Betty that's why Betty's emotions were out of control. Unfortunately Betty had to take the law under her control. Imagine giving your life for someone and in the end he scam you. Dan scammed a large part of Betty's life. I don't approve of what Betty did but Dan was the one who deserved to be in jail for being a fraud.

Betty would hire lawyers then not show up for consultations, she drove all her lunch lady friends away because she couldn't talk about anything else. she was dead-set on murdering both Dan & Linda for 5 years. she never snapped, she simply closed the book on her long term plan. now she sleeps like a baby.
