    Try to put the resignators closer to the tail pipe it's how alot of newer trucks come an it makes them quite cuz when u take them off they are louder

    Guys I've watched ya'll since the derby days. I try not to miss any shows .Besides ya'll do things the same way I do(by the seat of your pants)occasionally getting the directions out of the trash and looking at them. I've worked on and raced cars my whole life but my doctors said no more and I'm only 53.

    You have to love the the High expectations of the fab rats betting scale. They were all saying high numbers. 500 at the wheel made me chuckle. Did they learn nothing from the last time with the big block? Oddly enough Paul was the only one not in orbit. Even with that said this is my favorite channel on KZread absolute lovable group of people.

    To be fair, it’s an inertia dyno. It will read low on most things with big wheels. I’m pretty sure the actual number is higher.

    So nice to see Landon at the dino so wide-eyed so he can learn everything he can! I know Merlin is Paul's cousin but his mannerisms and blunt hilarious directness, it's as if he's from the Northeast. Personally as a former New Yorker and long time Coloradan, I love his direct attitude!

    Blowers absolutely make engines louder. It took 5 mufflers to keep my blown big block quiet. 2 glass packs, into a dual in dual out big body magnaflow, and then 2 hush powers at the tips out the back. I did do electronic exhaust cut outs for when I do what to make some noise though!!!

    I got a Detroit 8 V 71 in a RV that was once a Greyhound bus. Put on a blower and a two stroke and it gets real loud!! LOL

    Drove by the shop the other day on my way from idaho to Phoenix area for some high school hockey with my boy. I feel lucky to have seen where the magic happens.     Had the exact same setup on my SB and couldn't enjoy driving it till I moved the exhaust termination out from under the truck. It moved a ton of the sound from the cab and could even have conversations again.

    Dialed in, 345 HP, starts easily, sounds great. Big smiles all around - Brian @ OSG, Merlin, Paul, Shawn, Landon, Hunter, Brad. Merlin's teaser on power (turbo, super charger) and fuel upgrades (gas 91%, alcohol, nitro). Pulley change, extra booster fuel pump, 80 A breaker for fan. Like Merlin said: "Gas power in diesel range".

    It's probably way more HP at the flywheel than that. It's probably way more HP at the tires than that. That looked like an inertial Dyno and they don't really do well with these kinds of builds. The big wheels, tires, and heavy duty drive train are their own unaccounted for inertia that needs to be overcome. To get an accurate measurement he'd need to find another type of Dyno. Inertial Dynos work well with like cars but not so well with something like this.

    Turbos have their place, but you can't beat the instantaneous power from a blower. That and the sound from a blower is premium

    The truck sounds great. That would make a good back ground noise for ear buds . I was looking at the storage units across the way from the dyno. That's what Merlin needs to store his projects if it comes up for sale. Speaking of Merlin did he school or self teach engines ect. He really knows his stuff.

    Paul you have to order a flexible wire feed end for welding muffler's. The make them I ordered one for mine. This way you can weld the top of the pipes earlier. Hope you read this. Just Google the make of your welder and they will pop up.

    I like your thinking Paul, dial back the boost and the power in exchange for durability. But, it would be fun to know how much power you could make if you had the boost up to 15 lbs. But you would likely only get to experience it once! Keep up the good work!

    If it’s to loud your to old! 😂 I’m running a set of Flow Master X cat backs on my Hemi and they will rattle the windows in my house when I hit the remote start at 5:30 am.     The tech already said his dyno was reading low because of some equipment problem. Don't be let down by the hp number. It sounds like it is running great! ! ! Transfer cases with doubler and 1-ton diffs eat horsepower. The sign above the very first speed shop I went into in 1973 said "Faster is better, better costs more money, just how fast do you want to go?"

    a balance tube in the exhaust will help a ton kill the noise but not lose the tone. helps mpg as well.

    If you go into camera settings and turn off wind noise reduction or whatever GoPro calls it the audio WILL improve. It's removing highs because that is what wind noise produces.

    I thought it would be around 400 but what you have isnt bad. It will do what you need it to. Once you build the bottom end then I'd expect around 450 to 500. But nice build. I think your dad would be happy see>ng that truck going like that.

    You kbow, when Paul was having big block problems with those lifters and said he might just LS swap it, i was a little disappointed... but i should have known better, this wasnt going to be another junk yard 5.3 swap. 👍 the Fab Rats did it right and did not disappoint.

    Man I miss this channel I didn’t even realize my mom passed away when pop passed away and I didn’t have the strength to see pops truck cause it made me cry but I cried today cause seeing pops truck made me remember how awsome they were and feel horrible so much time has gone by miss you fab rats love you guys sorry I been away so long the truck looks amazing you did a great job guys and I’m still proud of Landen keep it up man and more power is allways better but as long as the Chevy is purring she will make it nicely 🎉

    I nearly choked when Merlin said "550". I told my wife "not over 375, at best". When it comes to moving a "dead" load, low end torque (idle to 4000 rpm) is king! This is where the 427/454/500 BBC or a 472/500 Cadillac, properly built, will shine. It is all about "area under the curve".

    Wow .. I was way off. Rooster does 300 to the ground. It's a 4.8 stroker 488s on 35s. That will all change when i go taller rubber. Paul the wrecker is doin damn good. Awesome!! Great video

    Put a crossover on that exhaust. That mellows out the sound without restricting flow.
