The Rarest M1911 Ever!

In early July 1918, the U.S. Government issued a contract for 500,000 Model 1911 pistols to the North American Arms Co., of Quebec, Canada. However, things didn't go quite as planned. Due to obstacles in the manufacturing process only about 104 pistols were produced, making them the rarest M1911 ever made.

You know, if you let Joel in front of the camera, he would've made this at least 10 minutes and it would've been captivating. Just saying.

As is often the case, I learned something new today. I heard of the Northern Arms Co, but had no idea they BN were Canadian and I'm Canadian! Keep up the excellent work gentlemen.

Serial number 66? Oy! Well, at least it's only two 6's and not three, that would be interesting.

B- Dog thank you. I have.a Singer slide. It came from the estate of a woman who worked at Singer in Elizabeth NJ during the war. I have seen two complete Singer 1911A1s in 40 years. Both in NJ collections.

B- Dog I paid $2500 for it from the estate. That was ten years ago. I have been offered $5000 for it. The Singer slides were mix and matched by the unit armorers. It’s possible to see 1914 dated slides mated to WW 2 slides with plastic grips. They cared only about making a functioning pistols. You can see this with M1 carbines and any WW2 rifles.
