The Raconteurs were formed in 2005 by Jack White of The White Stripes, acclaimed solo artist Brendan Benson and drummer Patrick Keeler and bassist Jack Lawrence from The Greenhornes. store.eagle-rock.com/theraconteurs Get your hands on a copy. Their debut album "Broken Boy Soldiers" charted at No.2 in the UK and follow up "Consolers Of The Lonely" went in at No.8. Both albums were also Top 10 in the USA. This performance from Montreux in 2008 was part of the tour in support of their second album. The setlist is split between songs from the two albums and includes covers of Terry Reid's "Rich Kid Blues" and the old Charley Jordan track "Keep It Clean". This is rough, tough rock 'n' roll with great tunes and even better guitar hooks performed by an outstanding live band.
Find yourself a girl, and settle down
Live a simple life in a quiet town
Steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
Steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
So steady as she goes
Your friends have shown a kink in the single life
You've had too much to think, now you need a wife
Steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
So steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
Well here we go again, you've found yourself a friend, that knows you well
But no matter what you do, you'll always feel as though you tripped and fell
So steady as she goes
When you have completed what you thought you had to do
And your blood's depleted to the point of stable glue
Then you'll get along
Then you'll get along
Steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
So steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
Well here we go again, you've found yourself a friend that knows you well
But no matter what you do, it always feels as though you tripped and fell
So steady as she goes
Steady as she goes
Settle for a girl neither up or down
Sell it to the crowd that's gathered round
Settle for a girl neither up or down
Sell it to the crowd that's gathered round
So steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
Steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
Steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
Steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
So steady as she goes (steady as she goes)
Steady as she goes
Are you steady now?
Steady as she goes
Are you steady now?
Steady as she goes
Are you steady now?
Steady as she goes
Are you steady now?
Steady as she goes

While good, it’s very dangerous for the amp, Jack white is known to push those vintage amps to their breaking points, it helps he runs an mxr mini amp pedal to add the extra stuff you hear.

Gotta love how the drummer's playing one of the hardest rocking songs with a traditional jazz grip

  • @tafferski

    @tafferski

    5 жыл бұрын

@Samu Tyrväinen Traditional grip was originally invented for marching purposes (it allowed you to hit a drum while walking), and has been transferred to the drum kit since the early jazz drummers had their origins in military drumming. It's really just a tradition passing from generation to generation. Although, some do say that you can get better subtleties with it than with matched grip. But really it's more of a cosmetic thing than anything.
