This Activity Packet: .
1. The Gift of the Quiltmaker Pattern Activity: A coloring activity experimenting with patterns. Students can practice pattern skills as they choose the colors the will use to create a Friendship Quilt pattern.
2. Simple Writing Sentence Activity: Related to the above activity, students will write a sentence (most of which is already written in dotted letters) but will add in the colors they chose for the above quilt pattern activity.
3. Quilt Craft: Students will cut out pieces from a craft sheet (can be printed in color OR printed and colored by kids) and create a small paper quilt. Extra materials required for this craft include glue, scissors, and crayons.
Excellent activity for a follow up to reading "The Quiltmaker's Gift" or for any study on quilts or patterns.
