    One thing to note is that the Sea Salt linears use leaf springs integrated into the stem for sound dampening (like on Wuque/Haimuu switches) instead of silicone pads. This results in the bottom out feeling less mushy, but the top-out sound is less dampened when compared to the more conventional silicone pads.

    Been using this for the past 4 months and I love it. I had always wanted an affordable silent full-size (for work), and eventually my younger brother put me on to this. I've gotten compliments both from fellow custom keyboard friends and the older folk from work for the retro-y look. Love the sound, typing feel and having the ability to upload any gif I want to the mini screen.

    I bought this one two months ago because I needed a keyboard with a numpad and I love it. Personally, the color you show here is my favorite because it reminds me the big keyboards I used at work ages ago. It's south facing, which is great for the price and the little TV screen is lovely. The cons are that it's not for keyboard enthusiasts, the charge doesn't last long, and it takes a while to get accustomed to the keycaps profile, if one wants to keep them. All in all, though, I would definitely recommend it. Nola content? The more, the better

    I really actually like the RT100 keycaps - any idea if they are sold separately as a keycap set?

  • @concernedcitizen6313
    @concernedcitizen63137 ай бұрын

    I got the RT100 long before there were any other color options, but frankly, I like the tan a brown look, so that's not a problem for me. Honestly, I think it's great, although I did wind up changing the keycaps to a cherry profile. The Sea Salt Silents are also pretty amazing, although I'm disappointed that they don't have the slightly longer stem that the Flamingos and the Budgerigars have that prevent cherry interference. As such, I have experienced cherry interference with the Sea Salt Silents. One problem I've had with the little TV screen is that it won't always come back on after waking up the keyboard while in wireless mode. I'd have to either turn it off and back on again or switch from Windows mode to Mac, then back again. Super annoying. But if the keyboard's plugged in, the TV screen is cute. And yes, it's totally a gimmick and I almost never use it. I still love the RT100, and it's my go-to regular-shaped keyboard, but I recently acquired the Feker Alice 98, and I just can't countenance going back to the traditional key layout. The reduced strain on my wrists and hands is just too irresistible while using the Feker.

  • @72EEL

    @72EEL

    6 ай бұрын

    Hi, can I ask what cherry interference is? From what I just searched up it’s got to do with cherry switches and north facing LED but this keyboard has South facing?

  • @concernedcitizen6313

    @concernedcitizen6313

    4 ай бұрын

    @@72EEL Sorry I only saw this comment just now. Yes, you're right that the RT100 is SF and that Cherry inference is an NF thing. I should've been more specific in that I was talking about the switches in general, as I do have an NF keyboard. Just to be clear, though (and I wish Hipyo were clearer about this as well): the problem is the switch molds and/or stem lengths, not the orientation of the LEDs. There are plenty of switches that don't have a problem with Cherry interference in NF LED orientation such as the Flamingos and the Budgerigars that I mentioned. Morandis Don't seem to have a problem with Cherry interference either, although I have my problems with them, but that's a story for another day.

However, there's a problem with that version: the [Z,X,C,V,B,N,M] kes are weirdly displaced to 1 position to the left...usual keyboards are positioned diagonally to the right-hand side of the upper [A,S,D,F,G,H,J,K,L] keys. Do you know how to re-arrange the keys like the standard English layouts? I'm afraid I couldn't re-arrange and set up them properly using the Epomaker app.

    I order this keyboard just for the retro look and the numberpad remind me of the IBM 386 from back in the day, I can't comment in how it feels as I'm still waiting for it.

    Hi Hypio, I want too build my first custom keyboard, but there’s almost zero keyboards that has a iso layout because I’m from Sweden. I want too buy a barebones or fully build that is 65 percent. Idk if I should get a epomaker ek68 as my first custom keyboard because it has a iso layout, would you say that epomaker ek68 is great for its price and it’s good a custom keyboard. I want too get wuque studios morandi switches. Could you recommend some keyboards that is hotswap and 65% that is around a 100$ and has a iso layout that works great with wuque morandi switches, could you also recommend some good websites to buy keyboards and switches and some Nordic layout keycaps.

    I've been considering modding my ducky one 2 full, but God damn opening the case to get to the underneath is almost impossible. Anyone have any advice or method? Someone online said shove something in it to pry it apart but you'll likely snap a plastic flap or two and I didn't wanna break a perfectly good keyboard...

    Dumb question: given hot swappable switches, is the electronic press ever detected in the switch, or is the press always registered in the mechanism on the circuit board?

    While the screen is gimmicky I do have a question on if the USB-C on the keyboard could be used for other things: * plug phone in to charge while you're at your desk. * Mouse/drawing pad/other pointer divice * Plug a raspberyr pi into it and have data go from it to the computer. * Just for giggles. Another Keyboard. Keyboard-ception. All hail the killz Matt. that space bar was just plain disappointing really. Wondering how those switches would sound in another keyboard. I kinda like the cream colored caps and the font, but as you stated that is personal prefrence.

    Have been running the Skyloong Glacier Silent switches (same internal design based on mini plastic leaf springs) for a while now and things are a little softer / quieter if you combine them with silicone keycaps.

    i have a question if anyone has the answer. can you use the Sea Salt Silent Switch keys on the EPOMAKER x Aula F75? or would it just be best to buy the EPOMAKER RT100 97? if you have any other silent keyboard suggestions, that helps too!

    i dont even know why many hated plastic mechanical keyboard and confused whats really the problem is. I personally liked plastic keyboard because i think it is a little lighter compared with metal/steel base in term of weight.
