The thing is, Mega Man Zero 2 is a good game and while I haven't played X7, I have heard enough and seen enough to make some opinions of it, and it already has one hell of a reputation. Also, the European box art for this game, and by extension X8, isn't very interesting at all, just X with a yellow background (red for X8).

Demi-Fiend of Time Only matched by Central Highway and Zero's intro stage theme in X4. As for other contenders from the Zero series, Hope For Freedom is also pretty badass.

@@darksonicyt5430 Japanese voice acting in the cutscenes(i think they changed it latter on in the legacy colection) ,that is and IMO the worst in the series, the ruined zeros sacrifice, manage to ruin sigma entire battle in x5, and gave us characters that legit had 0 good qualities, red and axl were at least okay, the level desing is the worst in the series (take infinity mijinions stage that is not a level, it is just a staight line with enemies and nothing else), worst macanics in the series(especialy the nightmare sisteme) worst maverick boss fights, and even though x7 has a lot of bad qualities most of them were because they botched the jump to 3d, x6 is a 2d megaman game they shuld've mastered that shit by that point. X7 isn't a good but it is way better than x6. the only good thng about x6 is the music and that isnt enough to salvege this game far from it

I don't hate this game because of my backstory with this. A good friend (who rest in peace now) invited me to his house and we played this game. We had a lot of fun. Nostalgia can be dangerous sometimes. The only good thing of X7 is the music. The OST is my third favorite of the series. Thanks for the video QuarterGuy. Have a nice day!

Finally X7's gotten burned to the ground courtesy of QG. And there's a Nickelback song called Burn it to the Ground. It fits X7 being roasted, dissed, slammed, smashed, slaughtered and destroyed by QG.

One way to look at Zero's Vision of "Murder happy X" could be a Tie in to the Zero Series with that X actually being Copy X. But considering that X6 effectively ruined that cotinutiy that Zero Series was supposed to be, this could be considered non canon.

Uchecuhkwu Daniel X5 was supposed to be the last game in the X series, with the Zero Series already planned in advance by Inafune. However, X6 was made behind his back, even being released the SAME YEAR as X5. By the time Inafune found out about it, it was already to late to shut it down, at least without Capcom going bankrupt as a result, so Inafune had to make a change in the Canon for Zero 2 and onward, to Fit Zero's ending in X6. In other words, X6 screwed up X series to Zero Series continuity SIMPLY BY EXISTING!

If I'll be honest, I kind of see that as a good thing. The idea of such a stalwart heroic character like X doesn't really sit well with me, and IMO it goes against the entire point of his character in the first five games. I dunno, I've never been a fan of "Hero turns to the Dark Side" stories as they all end up being the same hackneyed tripe, and I don't really see how that storyline could have gone any differently.

Tell that to Darth Vader fans. Hell, Vegeta was an Irredeemable Jackass befor the Cell Arc, yet that didn't stop his heel face turn. But I do see where you're coming from, yet X7 did his character injustice as well so X cracking from the pressure wouldn't be THAT farfetched. idk, it could be because X6 Is such a hateful game in my eyes and it boggles me the it isn't as hated as something that had good ideas that were just executed horribly.

Most Star Wars fans miss the point of their favorite characters anyways, so I have no problem telling them why they dropped the ball so hard once again. That being said, in the OT Vader's Heel turn had already happened and the only thing that brought him back to the light side was his boss torturing and trying to kill his son. Also, I don't know if you've seen the Prequels, but one of the few things those movies got right was making Anakin's fall more believable by making him a deeply flawed and troubled character from the start before having him make a series of increasingly bad decisions that made him turn to evil, Shakespeare-style. Same thing goes for Vegeta, which you pointed out yourself that Vegeta was hardly a saint from day one. X, by contrast, has always been a paragon for the series to the point where many players favor Zero over him due to finding him boring. X is almost Superman levels of boy scout, and just like with Superman, you'd have to try REALLY FUCKING HARD to make me believe any Heel turn any writer might try to make him undergo, Inafune included.

To quote The Great Clement "There's good voice acting, & there'a bad voice acting"

QG was the single reason I found the Mega Man series. With the exception of this and X6, it's a series with a near perfect track record. Thanks for the directions, QG

Y'know, it's sad. People are most likely gonna remember Peter Von Gomm for his poor performance as X in this game, cause in Super Bomerman R he's shown major improvement as the voice of White Bomber. Atleast IMO.

Pro Jared makes great reference material.

QG, what you have just said about Voice Direction is so clear and so right. Here in Latin America, we tend to have a huge market in Voice Acting (although it isn't a very popular job) and voice direction can be the make or brake in anything. A good example would be if you hear the Voice Acting/Direction in a show like Dragon Ball (still good to this day) and compare it to the dub made in Dragon Ball Super. Both series have the same voice actors (Mario Castañeda as Goku, Lalo Garza as Krilin, etc) but DBS has a very bad Voice Acting because it has a very bad voice director (Lalo Garza). This isn't an imposition, but I hope that, now that you have pointed it out, people will realize that good voice actors =/= good voice acting if they have a bad voice director. Nice review BTW, would it be too much to ask for a review of Megaman X8, considering that it undersold because of X7 and it would be beneficial for the game to have more reviews and people talking about it instead of X7?

So, in short, this game did to you what Sonic 06 did to The Great Clement.

Sonic Adventure 2 also had a falling space colony climax too.

Zero's nightmare kinda lines up with the Zero series, but something tells me Capcom wasn't thinking *that* far ahead

Watching this is making me think of Linkara's Atop the Fourth Wall. "Hello and Welcome to Atop the Fourth Level, where bad video games burn!" "This video game sucks!" Anyway, love this review. Although I don't want to play it, curiosity may get the better of me when the MMX Legacy Collections come out.

Fun Fact: Nobody mentions two things about this game... 1. There's a New game+, which is actually useful in the legacy collection for medals. And 2. This may have caused the cancellation of Legends 3 as well. (R.I.P.)

I guess Capcom should apologize for X7. As well for X6 based on the common opinion for those even though I don't mind them and it's alright for me in my opinion.

Kudos on the Dragnet bit at the beginning, QG. While I never saw Dragnet in its entirety (I was born long after the show had relevancy outside of pop culture jokes), I love both the theme song and what I have seen is genuinely good, if a bit outdated by modern standards.

Sonic Heroes also mapped camera control to the lower triggers but the reason why that wasn't an issue is twofold; 1 the camera was almost always facing the way you needed to go so you rarely needed to move it and 2 it was better positioned behind your characters and not at that weird angle like it is in this game. Also you can use the right thumb-stick to control the camera but the game doesn't tell you you can do that. The only problem with the camera in Sonic Heroes is with how it would keep going into first person when you stop moving after using the manual controls for it if you used the thumb-stick, the lower triggers don't do this for some reason. The really sad thing is that Sonic Heroes came out the same year as Megaman X7 and it turned out way better.

I'm not gonna lie, I find x7 to be a guilty pleasure for myself. But to be fair, before I played x7 I had only ever played x command mission (my first and probably favorite megaman game) and some of the battle network series. So x7 was my first platforming megaman game. So yeah, I kinda like the game, SUE ME!

16:39 If you enabled Rapid-Fire in the settings, you can just _hold_ down the button. I recommend both that _and_ Auto-Charge! Rapid-Fire especially makes Axl play more like how he will play in X8.

If circumstances were different could flame hynard been a good boss? Circumstances like not trying 3D, keeping kenji inafune closer to the project, having little to no voice acting play during the fight, or maybe downplaying flame hynard's role to mid boss. As a whole mega man X7 is one game I wonder what if it was good.

7:02 how long after X7 was it before MegaMan zero came out? Because if it was not long after or even before they could’ve tried to use this as foreshadowing sense in that game and evil version of acts is kill crazy.

I just checked mega man X7 came out one year after mega man zero, meaning they plan to do that dream sequence as zero having a premonition of Copy X.

Tornado Tonion and Flame Hyenard are the reason my hearing is not as great as it used to be. THEY DONT SHUT UP!

Here’s how they could have done X’s situation better- he’s not quitting, but he’s so tired of this he’s taking time off to collect himself and maybe aid in researching the Maverick Virus in a non-combat environment to help find a cure. When the Red Alert fiasco begins, Signas and Zero contact X and ask him to return. X agrees, but states it will take a while for him to get back. You would then get X after two or three Mavericks instead of all 8 or so many hostages.

19:43 Ah yes, THIS monstrosity of a boss battle and the point where I quit the game when I was younger, and have, to this day, never returned to revisit it... (I tried many MANY times with different character combos, but eventually stopped and just accepted that I likely wasn't EVER going to beat him) Looking back on it now, with the benefit of a more critical view of video games, I have no idea how or why I played so much of this game, or what was even motivating me to suffer through half of the things it puts you through.....

Slight correction, I once *tried* to revisit X7 out of curiosity, but that gate in the first part of the intro stage which you need to open by shooting the four "locks" infuriated me to the point where I just quit then and there.

I wonder if QG is gonna do a Q Review of X8

Fun fact: With all the dropped plot points and plot problems overall I simply split the X series into 3 major arcs not counting the GBA games. X1 thru 3 is the X saga which focuses on X and introducing the world of X. X4 thru 6 is the Zero saga which is Sigma's grand scheme to turn Zero into a Maverick and Wily's final death as Isoc, and X7 thru Command mission is the Axl saga which introduces Axl and sets the stage for the elf wars including Sigma's final death in X8 and the blurring between viral and free willed Mavericks providing Dr. Weil his motivations for Project Elpis.

Oh no, not another onion incident! Not gonna lie, I cracked up at that moment! X'D This review was totally worth the wait; I know you've gone over it briefly before, but now I have a real good idea why you hate X7. Keep up the good work, QG! ^^

There seems to be some technical issues within this. I still heard some mic buffer, and at times other sound outside the mic (I dunno, phone sounds?). Doesn't bother much, but probably you may want to avoid that for your next Patreon Milestone. ... Welp, here's a hoping that in X Legacy Collection they had Japanese voice over option. Well, speaking of burning things to ground, I kinda wonder if one day you will do a Pyromancer video to counter with your Cryomancer years ago. Oh and... I guess if you want to review another bad game... How about Samurai Shodown Sen? Heh....
