    I feel like I got a comparison from a couple of guys in a gun store. Shitting on the Radian charger and the Geissele trigger? Shitting on the colors? The only takeaway from this video was that there is a barrel length difference, Sig's colors matched, Sig has all Sig parts. Which one is more reliable? Which one is better running suppressed/unsuppressed? Which one is more accurate on the bench? Drop test them. For Christ's sake...

    You sound hurt, there was a lot of other points like the weight, feel, features. I love the look of the honey badger to but there’s way better options out there with same or better systems. Q is like Taran tactical, they both use marketing to get you to pay the absurd amount of money they ask for for their products.

    Looks like someone bought the honey badger.😎 I agree there are variables that are left out, but the SIG does appear to be the better option and you're getting more for the money. Fully ambidextrous, tool-less gas adjustment, piston driven, non rotational QD sling attachments, completely made in house, etc. I think it looks a hell of a lot sexier, too. They also didn't get into how modular the spear LT series is either. I'm glad I went with SIG.

  • @GearsofGuns

    We could easily own one if we wanted to, we just don’t. We have tested the HB many times in the past and the opinion has not changed. There are better guns for the money on the market that aren’t “cheaper” by any means. Just better. No judgement if you picked up a HB. They are slick for sure.

    Radian CH and Geissele trigger (both superior than what comes with Spear) makes up the difference in price. I own a Spear LT and switched out both of those with what’s on HB.

  • @GearsofGuns

    @GearsofGuns

    Only problem with the honey Badger is you do not have the option to swap over to the recoil system and piston system found in the mcx. Which would cost much more than the trigger or ch. you would be about $100 more than the HB with those upgrades and have 10 times the gun at that point. Can agree on the trigger and CH being better from radian. But that is more of a preference thing that can be easily changed if you really want. Personally I don’t mind the trigger on the spear and most people don’t. So In that sense the price difference really is not worth it.

    You bring up the length of the barrel being bad on the HB but it’s not always about the length in order to shoot distance and accurately. The HB has a 1:5 twist not to mention the “updated” honey badger is the q boom box which will blow the mcx away

  • @GearsofGuns

    @GearsofGuns

    Жыл бұрын

    It’s not bad but it is not the optimal length for a full proper burn in 300 blk. 9-10 inches. it was that length that the cartridge was originally designed around. Both barrels have a 1:5 inch twist and the boombox is built around an AR-10 frame so it is both of those is a moot point.

    I disagree: 1. for people who actually fight with guns "ambi controls" aren't ideal. 2. The Badger has better terminal ballistics out of a shorter barrel. 3. The badger rail is stronger, holds better zero, and ideal for lasers. 4. Its lighter and more compact. 5. Its better supressor host. You cant compare guns by simply comparing parts, you have to compare guns by taking a systems approach in which you analyze which is more effective in meeting its stated objective, "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts."

  • @GearsofGuns

    @GearsofGuns

    I’d take a look at why the military required ambi controls in their next squad weapon. Those are guys who “actually fight”. If the badger was a good option then why don’t special forces teams opt for that platform? You’d be hard pressed to find any teams running anything from Q. How does the Q have better ballistics? The data shows the opposite.

The bullet's design, as well as its impact velocity, plays a huge role in how the energy is transferred. In other words: bullet design is the major factor. Second factor - velocity. Honey Badger with 6 inch barrel provides worse terminal effect than any other rifle chambered in same caliber and having longer barrel. You just showed how ignorant you are. Eh, I guess you could say the HB feels outdated because it's not Ambi and is not piston. But the HB is lighter than anything else I've run. I dislike that I can't get mine to run Subs, but it's still pretty light. The metal mags are still nice. They feel lighter, and to some of us, it brings some nostalgia because we used to get issues with metal mags back in the days.

While, yes the previous gens for the MCX line, the Spear LT is different since it was designed alongside the NGSW (next gen squad weapon) program. @GearsofGuns Which brands of subs did you use cause I'd like to try them out, you know when the price drops. I've personally had the issue with some brands like fiocchi's 150gr, which is weird since it's not even sub sonic, but also with Remington's 220gr. I haven't had the funds to try a large variety, nor did my local shop have much availability. I have heard the same from some of the other owners I've spoken to but that's not really all that many of us. But the possible lack of reliability was outlined in sig's manual for the rifle. Noveske is also one of those brands you are paying for the name to a degree. Even LWRCI is that way and I own a few of their rifles. Are they a quality rifle? You bet your sweet *** it is. This is the case with just about all these Gucci rifles. Diminishing returns start to occur around the 2k mark for the AR platform. Just keep that in mind. If the gun checks all the marks for your needs and money is no object then go for it. I’d take it over the honey badger personally. I still wish it had ambi mag release. The rattler and dissent are in my opinion actual improvements. With side charging, no buffer tube, pic rail in rear, and adjustable gas block. While the GQ paladin is pretty slick looking and fully ambi. It is something that can for the most part be built for cheaper. But the sig and CMMG is something that you really can’t just build from parts. I would lean towards the CMMG more due to better availability and price. Then I would go with the rattler or the spear. If price is not much of a concern I would lean towards the Sig for sure. It is a very well thought out system. In the end I doubt you would be disappointed in any of those choices.
