The psycholinguistics of bilingualism - bilingual speech production
Ғылым және технология
This video is part of a lecture series on the psycholinguistics of bilingualism, based on a textbook with the same title by François Grosjean and Ping Li. This video presents the third chapter of the book and describes several experiments that relate to bilingual speech production. Important concepts include the distinction between selective and non-selective processing, the cognitive cost of code-switching, the base language effect, and phonetic characteristics of code-switching.

I have to read the book "The Psycholinguistics of Bilingualism" for a course at uni and I like your online lectures very much! They are usually very clear and in my opinion, they provide a great overview of each chapter of the book! Of course, I still have to read the book whenever I want to dig deeper into the material, but for getting the gist and understanding how the experiments work before actually having read the chapter provides me a big advantage for my self-studies later on!
Thank you so freaking much, Mr Hilpert.

Thank you, Martin! Great lectures.
Merci beaucoup! Love your lectures.
Thank you so much for the great lecture! Is code-switching the same phenomenon as language switching?
Great!
It seems that these kinds of bilingual lexical selection issues are extremely difficult to understand as well as to make others understood.
