We went with Phoenix metro for the hiking, spring training, driving proximity to so many things like California beaches and Disney, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, skiing. We have friends who moved to Texas and they say they have nothing majorly different to do outside their city. We also have family in AZ and CA so there also that big pull.

Can’t go wrong with either one ! Phoenix is good if you are into nature, want to be close to Cali and Vegas , Texas I feel is good for those who want to be open and explore plus no state taxes in Texas , but there is no surrounding states around it that are desirable like Cali and Vegas that Arizona has .Also no nature disasters in Phoenix too except dust storms but nothing crazy like Texas got like tornados

We're looking to relocate from San Diego to either Texas or Arizona in 2.5 years. In Arizona it's between Prescott and Flagstaff. We don't want to be in the extreme heat locations if we choose Az. In Texas we are looking at the areas between San Antonio and Austin. Specifically we are looking around New Braunfels. So far our top choice is Texas. I feel it offers more for our kids with regards to Catholic schools, entertainment and culture. Also I want to have a few acres of land or to live on or near a river or lake. In Az, the lakes and rivers are a bit of a travel distance from where we are researching. As for cost of living, housing and other factors such as vehicle registration, etc., we think we will be a little better off in Texas. We are doing our final research trip to Flagstaff this coming spring (2022) and after that we are making our final decision. Thanks for this video and your real life comparison of both states. You might have a different opinion of the school systems and how to keep your kids busy when they get a little older but your review was decent in that regards.

Thank you for sharing your story and appreciate the feedback! Everything you covered makes a lot of sense so I can see why you guys are leaning towards TX. And from what I've seen/heard, New Braunfels is a great place to choose. It will be interesting to see how Prescott/Flagstaff compare considering they will probably be much smaller compared to what you are looking for in TX but maybe they will surprise you with a completely different lifestyle? My wife and I have been searching for a second home in Flag for over a year now and have done several videos on that so feel free to check out those as well if it helps. Would be happy to help answer any questions for you before you make the trip out!

I have visited Scottsdale/Phoenix metro many times and there is less crime there than in the big cities of Texas. However, Texas is much greener, prettier, way more higher paying jobs and much, much, much, much, much more different things to do. The key to living in Texas is to live 25-50 miles outside of Austin or Dallas in one of the awesome suburbs or mid-size cities. Austin hill country and Georgetown/Round Rock are fantastic and you don't have tornado worries. South and west of Dallas has great cities as well and mostly out of tornado dangers. Waco has really come on as a great place to live as well. Waco may be best place to buy and invest in homes for the future. Phoenix area is great for west coast snowbirds but I would never live there all year because its brutally hot and there are no lakes, rivers, or ocean anywhere. There literally are no lakes and only one river (that almost completely dries up in summer) near Phoenix. No thanks. Great for winter and spring golf vacations.

Thanks for watching and appreciate the feedback! Lots of factors to consider for sure and I based on the videos I've seen around Houston/Dallas/Austin, there are a lot of amazing looking communities. We do have some lakes here but nothing like what you guys have in Texas. There are still a lot of things about Phoenix that people do love but I completely understand why you feel the way you do.

@@LivinginPhoenixAZ There's definitely lower violent crime in Phoenix area than in DFW, Houston and Austin. And Phoenix is cleaner with much less graffiti. So if you're okay with the desert - Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Foothill GC, and Sun City's to name a few are great places to live.

I was born and raised in AZ I am 41. I have spent 5-6 years in North Idaho. I am now in San Antonio. Out of the 3 extremes I like Texas. There is plenty to do here and history to learn in Texas. There is some traffic to deal with in SA because it is growing fast. It is nice being 2.5 hours from a beach and you can head north for snow. I don’t know much about Houston or Dallas. The valley of the sun is terrible with the pollution. My daughter hasn’t had asthma issues here and my allergies haven’t bugged me in SA. Don’t forget about the PRIDE, TEXAS has a lot of it.

This video is false. I live in South Florida but have traveled to Phoenix for a week this year and traveled to Houston 4 times in the past 2-Years. I can't speak for Dallas.. But, there is MUCH more to do in Houston with a Family and Kids. I mean, it's really not even close. And when he says you can't stay in State and do things? SeaWorld, 2 Six Flags, Houston Space Center, Numerous Museums...? I don't understand how he said that. Arizona had more things to "see" as far as it being a Desert and seeing sites you wouldn't see otherwise. Maybe he means for Single Adults as I haven't been a Single Childless adult in over a Decade. If you have a Family Texas is hands down better.
