While this song played, I met, introduced myself and danced with a girl at a party during college. I sang in her ear, "I promise you...". She asked, "What are you promising?". I said I promise to cook pancakes for her the next morning. She smiled and said, "ok". We married and have two beautiful children, and now two grandsons....

I was born in '86 but this song has always been special to me. My wife and I both share "I promise..." tattoos on behalf of this song. I'm honestly just now hearing this remix though.

The songs from 80s were so much better is because of independent labels who were willing to take risks on untested talent. Thank God the record companies can't prevent people from releasing music on their own now.
