That is for the aging process inside the barrel. For the plant to grow the minimum is 8 years, but that depends on how much it rains.

Its actually pretty good and sweet, you can buy it as "Miel de Agave" or Agave Syrup.
Very informative! Gracias!
are there natural yeasts in the agave that conduct the anaerobic fermentation to create methanol, instead of ethanol and co2?

200,000 years ago is not an extinct volcano , It just did not erupt for that much time . This is a very small time in the geological scale.

Sadly prices are going up because of demand on the product and the agave plant can only be grown in certain areas of Mexico.

Thank you for making South Africans Super Drunk :D
Its eliminated on the second distilling. Thats why its dangerous to buy tequila just sold by gallons in the side of the road, many times its only distilled once. The stuff can leave you blind.
Gud job bro
You're right no translation , for agave ,can't be call pineaple..
Its very common to hear the word Piña with Jimadores to describe the agave plant once the leaves are cut off.
what does pina mean, I totally missed that
@japarjona

It is not pina, spanish correct word is piña which means pineapple because blue agave heart looks like it when is shaped

Agave can grow in almost every soil but it takes such a long time for agave to be a ripe plant that nobody likes to cultivate it. From 5 to 10 years of growing until fully grown
Really great video. I love have you named all the different types at the end and the process it takes.
Now I always explain to the cops, that the smell off tequila not comes from me,but from the algave rests ,used into my seats! ;-)
ive been to tequila JA, its bad ass i went there on the way to guadalajara
Tequila and Rum are definitely the best... :)
Nice - I'll certainly better appreciate my next taste of tequila more now. Yup, delicious.

I see you guys have been to video copilot for your intro :D
damn that fool with the spade was on point!
where's the sound ? -.-
i wonder what the juice tastes like prior to brewing...
Blue agave is a beautiful plant and I guess tequila tastes good too.
SO they must have a massive area to grow this if it takes around a year to produce. But thx for the vid now I know how they make this stuff.
Pineapple, just because it looks like one when they cut the leaves of the agave plant.
Whats the hottest day during summer in mexico?
no the agave plant will always be the agave plant but once cut, you get the heart or pineapple wish in Spanish is "el corazon del agave" (the heart of the agave) and piña (pineapple) "i work here" :)
what kind of pineapple is that??
it was produced through fermentation, like all methanol, and distilled out. that part was pretty clean.
Next lifetime, I'm going to be born in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico! Arrrrriba! >:o)
DId you know also (I don't know how) that the agave plant is made into this syrup which is 10x sweeter than sugar and doesn't bring your blood sugars up. (btw It contains no liquor)
i born in tequila where make the best tequila from d world asi es
Its good for the price tag.

According to the narration at just after five minutes, It say 11 months to four years for an aged tequila, And with the process to make the drink around less than a month, Where do you get the extra three years from ?
Sir, I would like a job to learn tequila making.
any time you make any kind of alcohol the first 100 to 200 mls to condense is always mostly methanol alcohol. this happens because the boiling point of the water is higher than the boiling point of alcohols..and all alcohols have slightly higher boiling points according to the number of carbon atoms in the specific alcohol. methanol is formed 1st before the water really boils and contributes its own hydrogen atoms to the 1carbon methanol compound and allow another carbon to bond forming ethanol
no juans were harmed in this video
BOOM!
