I like to start a Colt in a Bosal Hackamore and a tail hair Mecate. In my opinion a tail hair Mecate helps them pick up a neck rein faster. I don't like to buy used horses because you have to spend so much time breaking them of there bad habits and such. I prefer to buy a weanling or yearling. At 65 and disabled, I am no longer able to own and work with horses. Miss horses every day of my life.

Most horses do so much better bitless....be it bosal or sidepull, rope halter ( not mechanical hackamore). If you can't ride a horse bitless, either you are a crappy rider, terrible balance, hands etc. or not enough ground work and time put into the horse period.

Hello Bret. I'm a student of the horse like you. Wondering what you know of that fractious horse that bucks and doesn't want anyone around them. Found out through investigation he had ulcers. 10 days on U7, he is a totally different horse, wants attention quite, com, saddles great now. Not the mustang I originally bought. I'll keep him on U7 for 6 weeks or so,and wein him off. Could talk on this subject for your followers. Thank you for all you do helping horseman.
