It’s actually insane the scammer wasn’t even the slightest bit generous, not even replacing the rare spot with a non holo atleast is crazy.

Suuuuucchh a bummer when that happens. I’m always so scared to buy products like this for display, because just as you said they could be sitting on my shelves for years before finding out. Hope you’re able to figure this out with the seller!

Love those boxes, so I wanted to buy them a few weeks ago. Was checking through local listings and found an OK deal. Thank god I was lucky and last moment realized that one of the Jumbo cards was German while everything else was English. This would have certainly been a scam....

Sorry this happened Jake! It's unfortunate that we have to worry about this in the hobby. I hope that the Pokemon company can innovate some new techniques to make it more difficult to reseal/repackage, and that sellers become more aware at sighting issues ahead of time. Oh dude this happened to me when I got a box from best buy. The guy told me while I was there “yeah a mother returned this today!” So I didn’t think much of getting it but I got it home and they weren’t even reseals! They were just open on one end lol. I returned them and felt so bad because I knew they didn’t believe me :( but they have me the refund anyway

This is why it’s tough buying from others. Be vigilante people

Did the seal on the side of the jolteon & vaporeon boxes look/feel different compared to the flareon boxes? They gotta implement the sealed strips if they’re not gonna wrap these puppies up

Scammed products are especially frustrating because as you mentioned, the person you bought these products from likely wasn’t the person who resealed them. So you can’t even properly warn others on who the scammer is. Sorry this happened to you :(

As someone who has recently started to collect some sealed products again. How can they put resealed packs into the premium collection boxes ? Cant you see that the box itself has been openend ?

Happened to me recently with a CZ Regieleki box sold by Amazon. :( Be sure to inspect boxes carefully before opening y'all and check if packs inside have small pieces of tape on the bottom

Hey Jake, I got some of the Orbeetle V boxes from Target restock and the packs looked so suspicious but then I pulled Cynthia & Caitlin from the CE pack.

My advice to anyone who wants to make money long term on Pokemon TCG. Buy what you can afford each month. Look for sales. Look for deals. Buy Elite Trainer Boxes/Tins and Specialty Boxes(not loose packs). Keep everything sealed for at least 5 years. You will not lose money. Opening packs is only really something you should do if you are into graded cards. Or you actually play the TCG game. Sealed product is always the safest and usually the most profitable. You just have to be able to sit on it for a few years. And you will always make money. Paldea Evolved ETBs are on sale for $35 right now. In five years they will go for $100+. Thats just how it goes. Even for less popular sets. Ive been collecting sealed product since 2012, Pokemon Sealed product might be a safer place to put your money than in the bank. Not kidding

Sorry this happened to you. I just bought a set of these from a very reputable LCS and one or two boxes have some excess glue on the packaging. Made me think of this video and now I’m worried, but I’m also hearing that this set is know to have some excessive glue issues from factory? Anyone have the same experience?

I think the vs look better than the vmaxes personally. The flareon v is my favorite tho it looks like he just started in a lil fire to warm himself up

I sent these 6 in a week ago , hoping for at least a 9 lol 😆 seems even when theyre perfect theyll give them absurd grades , gotten 6's on card that you couldnt see any visable damage , whitening and near perfect centering , makes zero sense sometimes

i think it’s sad because the factories could very easily introduce some type of tamper line… it’s been a feature on food products for years now but the PC is probably not even interested in the second market to even consider it maybe if enough people make noise about it ? tamper proofing the cards and boxing with a mark will also deter scalpers who buy in bulk just to open and re seal at least really sorry to see this happen to you

Love the channel, but in all fairness that's a significant risk you take when you pay an unrealistic amount below market - $200 vs $280 for the trio (The old addage of "if it's too good to be true"). Worth paying a premium to buy off reputable sellers. I've probably went through 150 of the eeveelution premium collections to get around 20x in PSA 10, so incredibly difficult to grade, especially the V vs Vmax.

All the promos from every box I had were off center and had whitening. I just left the flare on in the box.

Wow ive never gotten or seen resealed packs before. I always thought it was something people just talked about but never really happened. Thats brutal...

I was curious, so I tried it myself, Its actually fairly simple to take a knife and get under the flap and open it without ripping the collection box. Then it would be super easy to get to the packs do whatever they do then re glue the flap to "seal" the box.

Duuude that sucks so much... what a scummy thing for someone to do. Not sure where you picked it up but def push for a refund if you can. The lower price that looked like a bargain may have been a bit of a red flag, too - I've noticed some sellers will list more valuable singles without condition or clear photos for lower values.

i understand the need of keeping costs down, but there has to be a more inventive way of handling promos than the way they're currently presented/held.

Crap… this worries me about the set I have now in my collection that I bought off from the secondary market.

My last five booster box's had just one card above $20.

The longer people keep these specific products sealed that are packaged this way, the more damaged your cards are going to be due to warping plastic.
