Yeah this is just untrue. Marvin can confirm into 90+ damage off of one dair without even using a projectile.

Reading DI with fair or uair is a pretty consistent way to kill, and dair into uair kills at like 90-100

Facts. People are starting to wake up about Marvin. Dude is definitely a solid A tier

Marvin is literally one of the best characters in multiversus, the amount of range he has mixed with his strong melee game is very good

Love Marvin he's definitely my Multiversus main. You are definitely right about the game plan for the charecter. I have gotten some extremely fun strings before though so I still enjoy those moments, but most games are a spacey bullet hell

I think the issue Marvin has is that he’s got a lot of weird bugs like how if bubbled rocket is off screen it just kinda disappears or does a weird 360 when you button it which makes him waste his biggest pressure move

Marvin imo is balanced from what i see , he feels very fair to go against but when you encounter some of the better martian players you tend to see some of the most creative beat downs I've seen in any game I've ever played HE'S AN ASSASSIN!? I thought bro was a mage this WHOLE time!

As a Marvin main who wins basically every time to this u say...*BALDER DASH!* You just gotta learn him and be precise with the projectiles :3

I think the problem is they re worked all the projectiles. All his lingering hitboxes don't matter now cause if you dodge any projectiles once it can never hit you.

As someone who mains IG and Jason fighting Marvin is either easy or hell. It’s mainly since Marvin’s projectiles is perfect to screwing over big character. I feel bad for you Marvin heads

I find that i can consistently kill at 100 (without considering rocket) with the true combo Jab 2>Nair>Up special>Fair>side special (only works if they DI into you), spamming the Jab 3 projectile, Fair, air side special (if they are high enough in the air), and grounded side special (into up special). I do like spamming Jab the most because if they try to engage with me i can reverse projectiles or put down the flag.

😭 the effort this character takes when Harley can just down attack into into up attack. WW can jab jab into side attack and the list goes on

Marvin just has no tools when his 2 tools are on cooldown his hit boxes are incredibly small while his projectiles are also almost useless for the most part he is decent in 2s with the right team but you don’t really kill just build up chip damage and for context I am lebron player mostly and lebron is significantly more fun and enjoyable no matter what the mode or play style than Martian in any category

That's a lot of the weaker character RN imo, not enough kill power/quick cool down compared to the top tiers. Except bugs bunny, he has quick kills but very long cooldowns

​@@_Arm0r1_bugs Bunny got a ton of kill potential. And while yeah some characters ain't got kill potential, the ones used most do. Such as shaggy, bugs, superman, ect.

I have been loving Marvin personally Also he does have buttons he can use to kill vertically. Up special trumpet is also a good option too. You alsp didn't seem to mention side air either which is a very good move for killing. A lot of his combos these days are more vertical though like dair into uair into up special. He can go in and punish people for their mistakes too. If you need a get off me option button press is good for that. So I personally disagree with your take

As a Marvin main, I’ve got a question for ya: what happens when your opponent dodges? Marvin has the secret downside of nearly all his aerial attacks coming out with roughly the same delay (if you don’t count just holding your up-laser) and lacking any serious amount of lingering hitboxes. Compare Harley’s up-special to Marvin’s: Harley’s has a lingering, moving hitbox that vertically launches and can guarantee a kill if used at 60 halfway up the screen. Not only that, she has free movement for the full duration of her special and can even soft-combo out of it into her other attacks. Marvin has a directional, moment locking, cooldown reliant, immobile platform that not only grounds him but prevents you from seriously combining anything out of it due to the fact it literally puts you on the ground and is so big it literally absorbs the entire hitbox of his only decent aerial, that being his down attack.

@@painisweaknessleavingthebo302 I am not the best Multiversus player so I could be wrong but you follow DI and use up air to predict or limit where they are going. Your kill confirms don't necessarily have to be true to work. Also side special if they dodge too far to the side can even work. With the up special, you are mostly in kill setups if it is an aerial one trying to get the knock back off it and this the cool down doesn't matter very much in that case either because the part of the move you care about is the trumpet part anyway. Besides if you get the kill you can still choose not to waste the rocket by bubbling it which can help with your next stock too. Things like this are how you can deal with your opponent doing stuff like that

the point of marvin is to lock down the opponent using his resources and unique moves to trick and pressure the opponent into bad positions, you have to properly manage your defensive tools and projectiles. I find it incredibly easy to rack up damage with him, you just need to reconsider his moves

not to mention that you can cancel his jab 2 into up tilt, or jump cancel his jab hit 2 into a jump and then spike them into the floor using n-specials melee hitbox, then follow up with airwalker platform into jab1,jab2, and upair or fair or jab 3

@anthonyontv1061 I mean yea you are doing more for less reward. Marvin has to perform button loops to get the same damage that others get in like 3 attacks which are easier to land. A hard character should come with good rewards so the hours feel worth it. R&M are characters who actually get decent rewards for the effort put in

I love marvin but man it feels like you have to win neutral 10 times for every one time the broken top tiers do

I fuking love marvin in the game, basically my second main, bugs bunny being the first, I've planned to make martian my first main but bugs is still good so the martian does need some work, anyway, how I play is trying to be aggressive with projectiles, which is hard I know, but I use the fact that Marvin's neutral attack can catch projectiles to do different things, my favorite one is neutral attack and side special, puts them close to where I can hurt them

my guy compared to who? the top tiers? this is his best apperances, literally almost unapproachable, the only thing hes lacking is kill power but kill power doesnt make a character

as the best Marvin in the game (joke) I honestly think he’s fine, I’ve learned the matchups and know how to kill at around 100-110 although I do get those eventual 170-200 livin mofos 😭, I’d say to buff his speed though for sure, his damage & weight are fine I guess, but he’s way too slow, it takes forever to dair and recover from the zap unless you dodge, his base movement speed is also wack. you have characters like Morty zooming around the map literally making it impossible for Marvin to even approach or hit. That’s all he needs, a slight speed buff

i think he could use some damage increases just because ill put out like 7 attacks against someone like joker and he will do the same in 2 hits but besides that i agree

nah marvin is great bro. He's under used in beta cause the game was removed like a week later. And during the full release, he's still really good. basically 0-80% combos. He's an assassin cause of the ladder combos he has. All the assassin characters have great ladder combos (combos that lead to a ceiling KO). He also racks up damage fast just like all the assassins

If only marvin could have more kill potential. Yeah the rocket is good but if that doesnt hit then you gotta wait to get your kill move again. He's REALLY good, just needs more knockback to kill.

Marvin is buggy as fuck. Sometimes you redirect your bullet, it doesnt hit the enemy. He is not a bad character but he need fixes. Would not recommend playing him on a higher lvl. For fun and 2v2 he is fun

Yea beta Marvin was so much better to fight with granite he wasn't the best in beta but man the combos was smooth. He was a sick low tear but now hes just some guy that bullys newcomers.

I’ve been playing Marvin under the name “Masocanistic” because he’s an actual meme and anybody who takes him seriously has to be a masochist. When you lock Marvin in, you’ve made the choice to play almost just a worse version of Morty. He’s great, Taser is a fantastic zoning tool and against people like Joker it invalidates a lot of their projectiles, but that comes at the cost of being almost the only thing he’s good at. Against Joker you’d think he’d kick ass, but there are so many negatives. Even bubbling Joker’s balloons does no damage, he can’t respond fast enough against his down aerials, and he lacks the ability to consistently dodge punish, which is almost an essential tool for assassins. It’s one thing to have a character who needs higher percentages to juggle effectively, but it another thing to need the opponent to waste all their dodge while you’re doing nothing but pestering them.
