Yes. The Primaris should have been a major narrative point, with the "tainted" chapters Primaris being free of their chapters "flaws". Tensions within the already struggling Empirium come to a boiling point when the Emperor's angles of destruction turn their backs on one another over the boy scout's short-sightedness. This could leave narrative room to fix some of the Empirium's bloated, failing systems. You could rein in the Inquisition, restructure the bureaucracy, maybe get the tech priests to stop worshipping toasters. Providing mankind the breathing room it needs to get ready for the 'nids, or another warp problem, or the introduction of another faction. The Primaris should have been these pure, super Astartes, like the Ultramarines turned up to eleven. The tainted chapters, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, etc. would have rejected these false brothers. Girlyman would then have forced his will on the Astartes, like he did with the Codex. Some of the tainted chapters might rebel, others might simply ignore him, still others might try to integrate their false brothers and therein destroy their chapters' cohesiveness. Sectors barely hanging on by dint of their Astartes' might would fall to xenos and/or chaos incursions. A war among the angels, through which the chaff of the Empirium might be burned away while it's people perish. When all is said and done, when the last ashes fall and the guns go silent at last, those remaining Firstborn make peace with their new brothers to discover that the Primaris' much vaunted superiority came at a price. They all have some sort of flaw. Maybe they're more mortal now, and only live a "normal" human life span, perhaps less before their genome unravels. Those chapters who heartily embraced the change might then find themselves in a desperate search for a way back, some way to fix this flaw to save their ancient brothers and the ageless wisdom they utilize to drive back the dark. For even the mighty Dreadnoughts and their life "saving" tech wonders can only hold off this genetic decay for but a little while longer, and there aren't enough Firstborn Astartes left to guard the ramparts that the Primaris might utilize stasis to buy time. Now, Girlyman is in serious hot water for bringing this blight upon the God Emperor's favoured children. For while his Primaris might have saved the Empirium from one of it's darkest moments, Girlyman could well have sacrificed the future to save the present. I just made all that up in like fifteen minutes, the pros at GW would have access to nearly endless narrative directions that wouldn't alienate the fan base. Instead, GW just made everyone get new models in a poorly thought out, not very grim-dark, cash grab to bolster a failing business model. Now they have to find some way to make it all fit. Because the avid fans are falling through plot holes that are getting astronomically large, and the normies they're trying to appeal to with this new sleeker art style don't spend hundreds (thousands) of dollars on little plastic models.

@@Wolffanghurricane My idea was secondary to my point, which was they could have done damn near anything with the return of Girlyman and the introduction of his Primaris Marines. Instead, they ham-fisted a new set of semi-mandatory models into the tabletop to generate more immediate revenue, leaving plot wholes so large they have their own gravity wells, splitting the fan base and risking the whole franchise. I imagine most fans have come up with a better way of handling the return of Girlyman and the introduction of his shiny new toy soldiers than what GW has yet provided. If you don't like mine, that's fine, you probably shouldn't. It's what I feel is the most likely outcome of the Primaris Marines ascendance given my surely flawed understanding of the established lore, sprinkled with a little hope. That it's unlikable is rather telling, and I fear, equally unavoidable.

​@@Happyface714 i heard a similar theory that said sanguinius had actually succeeded in convincing horus to come back but he was overcome with the red thirst and attacked horus forcing him to kill his brother then big E came in got the wrong idea and immediately murdered horus for killing his as that point favorite son.

​@Happyface714 Yeah the better theory is he did kill Horus in combat and succumbed to the Red Thirst as Big E showed up, and rather than immediately striking down Sanguinius tried to subdue him and in the process was mortally wounded and forced to kill Sanguinius and fabricating the story that Horus had done it so the could keep te Blood angels genetic issues a secret

i read some grimdark fan theory, that death of the Sanguinius is by far the most dangerous thing both emperor and horus heresy had witness. through accepting his impending death, sanguinius fully accept his blood thirsting flaw and his accursed rage bestowed by khorne. none will live to tell the tale, except the emperor.

@@KneeCapHill it is also likely that with the release of space marine 2 they will create a new jump pack model due to the design of a primaris pattern jump pack in the trailer, GW would most likely capitalise on that.

I wouldn’t exactly say cursed. More like having a serious eating disorder who’s side effect is to, occasionally, become EXTREMELY hangry. And as the recipe for Snickers bars was lost during the Age of Strife….. Well, you can see the problem right there.

The blood angels were vicious, cannibalistic, psychotic murder machines until they met sanguinius who changed them into one of the proudest and most noble defenders of the imperium. Some successors chapters kill their normal humans Servitors to drink their blood while others contain themselves to show their will and their human side….

The problem with blood angels is that they’re boring. Founding Chapter? Vampires. Flesh tearers? Violent vampires. Knights of Blood? Crusading violent vampires. Ultramarines are more interesting. The Emperor’s Spears are non codex compliant, and the Consuls attempt diplomacy before invasions. I’m not even an Ultramarine fan. I’ve loved the DAs for years, and even our successors have more interesting things going on. Relic hunters, entire companies of xenos specialists, even a successor that doesn’t care about the Fallen. What do blood angels successors get? A different armor color. That’s it

Wrong 'blood' named space marine group. The kleptomaniacs are the Blood RAVENS who are unknown which legion they originally came from, but the biggest legions suspected as the origin of the BR are Thousand Sons or Raven Guard
